I've been getting inspiration and supplies here for nearly 5 years. It has, in my opinion, the best selection and prices for scrapbooking products in Edmonton. Their products and supplies turn over at a quick pace and as such you aren't stuck with the same themes and embellishments every time you go. Not to mention the size of their stock increases monthly! You may get overwhelmed when you walk in due to the amount of products they have, but will quickly be put at ease with the assistance and guidance from Urban's helpful and friendly staff. A children's area is available with toys and a TV so you can shop without distraction if you bring your kids. A layout area is available so you can go in with your pictures and choose products to complete your layout right there. Urban Scrapbook also offers numerous workshops and cropping sessions throughout the month and over the year. I recommend becoming a member of Urban Scrapbook which entitles you to discounts on product, specials, and "ins" on upcoming workshops. By being a member you also receive weekly newsletters filling you in on hot new product and upcoming workshops, events and important things in a scrapbookers life. Urban Scrapbook has a well lit, large crop room at the back of the store with ample room for cropping groups. They also provide dye cuts templates to help you with your creations. Now, don't get me wrong, Urban Scrapbook isn't just about scrapbooking. It basically sells anything to do with paper and paper crafts. It's a bit hard to find, located in an industrial area of the city, and it's kind of small next to the big Fabricland store right beside it, but it's worth the visit if you're an avid scrapbooker! I was overwhelmed stepping into the store, I didn't know where to start. They have everything you need for scrapbooks and other craft projects, including rows and rows of stickers and rub-ons, chipboards, paints, brads, and crafting tools. There's also an entire wall of cardstock paper in all kinds of beautiful colours and patterns. While they had everything one could possibly need for any project, some of the items were a bit pricey, even for a scrapbooking store, I would say. So be selective with your items, because you can get certain ones for cheaper elsewhere. That being said, be sure to check out the back, as that's where all their clearance stuff is currently stocked at half price. I found some really cool cardstock paper back there for really cheap. They also have a room in the back where they hold their craft and scrapbooking classes. You can sign up via their website; I think one usual session is about $20. They also have examples of projects throughout the store, so you can get an idea of what they make. And there's a small play room for kids right beside the entrance, for moms who want to take their time getting stuff but can't find a babysitter. Sign up for their points system and get 10% off once you reach 200 points, which shouldn't be too hard cause this place is awesome!

Which is why you should be willing to pay a bit more because you really do get quality when you shop at Metalsmiths. My only complaint is that the staff aren't always very friendly and accommodating. Some of them are great - really friendly and helpful, while others are not so much. But if you are looking for quality silver jewelry, this is the place to go!

I've been to the last three…read morethat were held at Latitude 53 in Edmonton and have really enjoyed the treat bags that the first 50 attendees get when they walk in the door! I like supporting the local craft sale community and each time I've visited I've found at least one thing that I absolutely needed to have -- each time from a different designer. Today I bought a dress for example, but in the past I've purchased scarves and pouches and have really enjoyed jewelry, cards, and edible treats here! The community is really friendly and there tends to be a good number of families who shop here in addition to individual adults. It's great to see the babies and young children and their enthusiasm for art! I'm happy to talk with and interact with all the creators and hope to continue to do so in the future as well.

Despite the address being on 122 St, it's actually located in a ground floor suite right on 121 St right across from the Brewery District, close-ish to 104 Ave. There is angled parking out front. It's a cute and quaint little boutique filled with treasures beautifully displayed. My favourite was a selection of jewelry tucked in between pages of an antique novel by the door (when you see it, you'll understand). There was inspirational home decor, some cool stuff like concrete diamonds, some baby and kid's clothing (including these adorable baby headbands), lots of unique jewelry, cool razors, little succulents.. It's a bit like shopping at a local market but with everything in one pretty place. There is even a little coffee corner at the back. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend popping if you're looking for some unique gifts.

The studio is fairly spacious given the size, and kept neat and tidy. The class I recently tried here was called Poundfit (by Tracey K). You use these cool lime-green drumsticks called Pound RipStix - specially designed for beating objects (floor, the other stick, mats)! It's a great whole-body workout that focuses mainly on core, thighs, and arms/shoulders. Also, if you like to make noise, relieve stress, smack things together, or feel like a 10 year old while getting your sweat on, this class is for you :) There's some coordination-involved movements, but as long as you move with the beat in some form and smiling because you're having a good time then it's great!
