Love going to the Dentist!! This one anyway. Joe is down to earth and they whole team puts you at ease and in stitches with their laughter.

Dr DePrimio is a nice dentist with a great bedside manner. However. I've been going to him for a couple of years and I just decided to switch to another dentist. Why? His office is difficult to deal with administratively (at best). Technologically, they're stuck in the 1980's, both in dental equipment and office equipment. His hours are limited, even more so in the summer. And I always walk away from a session with the dental hygienist feeling like my mouth has gone five rounds with Mike Tyson, and with the same condescending, rote lecture about flossing more, every. single. time. When I left I asked for my dental records to show to my new dentist. They emailed them three days later, which was fine, except I asked for them to post my x-rays to me as well and it's been five weeks of me emailing every week and *not once* have they bothered to even respond, let alone post the x-rays. I paid for those x-rays. But no f*cks have been given, as far as I can tell. Probably for the best. My new dentist has uncovered multiple cavities that Dr. Depremio's office completely overlooked, as well as replaced my one silver filling, which was roughly three decades old and should apparently have been replaced after the first decade. Something pretty damn obvious to a competent and engaged dentist - you would think. read more

They burn. In the night, I dream: the molar bears come. IV. He was moping when he walked through the door. I was afraid to ask. "Honey, is your tooth still hurting?" He gave me a toxic look. "I don know," he said through a mouth of cotton. "Duh denis kep eh." V. One thing led to another, and after a couple drinks, she and I ended up in bed together. Nothing spectacular, but I'll admit I was a little too drunk to remember. In the morning, lying there while she smoked a cigarette and I struggled to conjure up her name, she suddenly said, "Hey, you're a dentist, right? A good one, right?" "Yeah." Dr. Deprimio is a good dentist but the office is terribly disorganized. I went in for a cleaning in April and one of their machines was broken so they made me schedule an second appointment. I showed up for the second appointment and the machine still wasn't fixed so I came in for nothing. I called a few times and left voicemails and no one ever got back to me...until yesterday. Now, I have an appointment (for a continuation of the cleaning started in April) at the beginning of December. Also, the secretary is AWFUL. Why don't they fire her? She's rude, obnoxious and unhelpful. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Joe since 2000 or so. I him for the sole reason he was close to work. First time I walk in, there's this guy with a ponytail and beard, making fun of some patients. I wonder where the dentist is. Turns out that IS the dentist, and he's definitely the best one I've ever had. Lesson #542 in life that appearances mean nothing, give me performance. Dr. Joe is extremently skilled. He couldn't be friendlier, and he makes my visits as pleasant as trips to the dentist can be I've had the unfortunate need of his services many times over the last 7 years - a crown, a root canal repair (originally done by another dentist), a few other complex things, and Dr, Joe has performed them all very well for a a fair price. He walks you through everything he's doing. His referrals, when neccessary, are of similar high quality, and he communicates with them so you don't have to explain all that complex dental jargon. read more

Really a great great experience. I've been there after my issues with Gental Dental (cf. my other review) for a second opinion. Joe really took the time to check my teeth and did a very thorough work. After a 30 min exam, he reluctantly told me I had to treat 2 minor cavities (as opposed to 9 from my first diagnosis), only after taking extra x-rays (he was not sure based on the one GD took for me) and consulting with the other doctor in his office to be sure. I really felt like he cared about me and just wanted to avoid anything that was not necessary for me. I'm very grateful for that. It's just so hard to deal with a doctor who is trying to sell you stuff as opposed to cure you. Joe is definitely a great doctor and cares about his patients. By the way about the location, it's really not that bad. It's a 5 minute walk from the Kendall MIT station and it's pretty much a straight line. The waiting room is pretty small but it only makes it more like a family office. Receptionists are super friendly so time passed by quickly when you're there. Really really happy, I highly recommend you go there :) read more

Thank you for your reviews, Yelpers! I had my first visit with Dr. DePrimio today and it was fabulous as you said it would be. Technically, I didn't wait at all for my appointment - I showed up early, filled out my forms quickly and they were ready to take me once I was done. My cleaning was totally painless, the X-ray plastic dealies weren't crammed painfully into my mouth and the hygienist really does do a great job of distracting you with horrible pun jokes (my favorite kind!). Seriously, I have never had a more thorough cleaning, and it didn't hurt a single bit. The building is a little on the odd side. It's a long, skinny red brick building. It doesn't look like a house or anything, but it doesn't look like a building a dentist would be in either. I wouldn't call it sketchy. Confusing, maybe. The immediately surrounding neighborhood was mostly residential and nice. Oh, and there was a window in the room they put me in - it didn't feel claustrophobic or overwhelmingly "medical" - just clean and bright. They also offered to fit me for a mouth guard for what I thought was a super-reasonable price (I was quoted significantly higher by a significantly worse dentist). I'll edit with an update once that happens. I would definitely recommend Dr. DePrimio to anyone seeking a new dentist. Especially if you've had awkward or horrible experiences with dentists in the past. This was the best visit I've had to a dentist ever. (What did the leopard say after eating a gazelle? That hit the spot! Hurr hurr) Update!: A few days after my appointment I got this really sweet letter in the mail that was mostly hand-written, saying how happy Dr. DePrimio was that I had a good experience and such. The oral surgeon he recommended for my wisdom teeth extraction rocked! And I'm psyched to make my next appointment. And I failed to mention before - they were incredibly non-judgmental about my mouth piercing. So yes, I would give Dr. DePrimio's office ten stars if I could. read more

I've been going to Dr. Deprimio for a little over a year now and couldn't be more pleased. I initially started going here because at my last job, our lackluster dental insurance had very few places on their list to choose from that weren't chain dentistries and after trying a different doctor in my neighborhood (who had an office you'd see in a horror movie) I read other yelp reviews and thought I should give Dr. D a try. Not only is everyone very friendly, but they actually go out of their way to put you in the least amount of discomfort. I have never had dentists or hygenists apologize so much for possibly hurting you. Steve tells a lot of corny jokes which I can appreciate and helps pass the time. He is also very informative and explains everything being done and everything they see. I've learned so much about my teeth and how to take care of them better from going here! They suggested I use a child's size brush for my smaller teeth and what a difference it made! Even having cavities filled was a breeze - I barely felt a thing! They even called me six months after my first appointment to remind me I am due for another cleaning and to set up a new appointment. Now that I have better insurance, I am sure I could find a new dentist on my side of the city but I love this place so much, the drive to Cambridge is worth it! read more

Dr. Deprimio is amazing! Seriously, he is probably the nicest dentist you will ever meet. I made an emergency appointment because I was having some weird on-and-off tooth pain and it turns out that I cracked my freaking tooth! Deprimio figured out what the problem was and fixed it right up. The cost was pretty reasonable too which I was a little worried about because I don't have dental insurance. Just a note to the others out there without dental insurance, they don't take credit cards, only cash or check. It's inconvenient, but if it helps them stay cheap, I'm all for it. As others have mentioned this place looks really shady from the outside, but don't walk away because once you get past that banged-up gray door, it looks just like a normal dentist's office inside. Oh yeah, and he sent me a hand-written note in the mail a few days later thanking me for choosing them. What do you call a cow with no legs?........ Ground beef. What do you call a cow with two legs? ...... Lean beef. Those were among the gems I heard while getting my teeth expertly cleaned by a hygenist who seemed skilled enough to be the actual dentist. Intrigued by the previous Yelp reviews, I decided to give "Dr. Joe" a try. I found just about everything mentioned in the previous reviews. The strange, small and sketchy building, the cross stitched "diploma" and most importantly the staff who, after reading the Yelp reviews, introduced themselves to me as: "I'm the guy who makes all the bad jokes while cleaning your teeth" and "I'm the dentist who's more of a mechanic than a dentist." The previous reviews failed to mention the customized Mustang with the "Joe DDS" license plate parked next to the building. Apparently Joe has cut his ponytail but is considering bringing it back, so as not to dissappoint the Yelpers. Definitely not your typical dentist and totally awesome. read more

Wow. Can you go as far as saying 'I like going to the dentist'? I selected this place based on the previous yelp reviews and they were right on; not just was I subjected to a shower of one-liners but there was a JOEDDS-licenceplated Mustang and from the outside the place did somewhat look like a trailer made of bricks... Nonetheless, the hygienist was stellar and definitely knew what he was doing (he told me that I was right-handed based on looking at my teeth, no joke) and Joe just as good. Once inside it looked much like a dentistry too. I definitely recommend these guys, they make you feel very at home and welcome; and they are very competent. Dr Deprimio is very nice but I'm sorry I have to write this negative review. Four reasons. (1) I recently switched to a new dentist who found I have a chipped tooth with dead nerves. This chipped tooth has been there for YEARS but Dr Deprimio's team NEVER PAID ATTENTION to it. (2) I wonder if they had been over-treating my teeth, since they always advised me to fill all cavities, whereas my new dentist told me certain small cavities don't need treatment. (3) When I visited Dr Deprimio for cleaning, it was always the hygienist who did it, not the dentist himself. (4) When I visited them before COVID hit, they NEVER WORE MASKS, not even surgical masks. The dentist literally talked into my mouth when he was filling my cavity. Thank god they didn't get COVID and neither did I. I know they are now wearing legit masks due to COVID but it's scary to think about how unsanitary they used to be. read more

I am not going back so I will start with why. The deal breaker: HE DID NOT DO THE PROCEDURE WE HAD AGREED ON !!! After several thorough exams (even with the filling out of the tooth) we had agreed on a treatment plan (an inlay- the best available for the condition).Once I was in the chair, without asking me, the dentist did another procedure (a filling, which is cheaper, easier, and less durable). Afterward, when I questioned him, he gave an answer that seemed plausible. However, when I checked with another dentist I was told the explanation was not correct. Not only was this not the procedure I had wanted, and we had agreed on, when I needed an adjustment because the filling was too high (fairly common and a minor issue that takes about 15 min to fix) but getting an appointment became a real pain. It was 10 days before I could get in to get the filling fixed. For 10 days I could not chew on that side! I felt like the receptionist did not believe I needed an adjustment and was not passing along my messages to the doctor. THAT was the annoying part. Suddenly she WAS kind of condescending when I said I needed to come in again. I liked this place at first...but now, no way. What I like: they don't waste a lot of money on fancy decor. That might sound weird but when you walk into some dental offices and they look like they are from a magazine, you can bet the customers are paying for this. I liked that they are friendly and didn't speak with condescending attitudes. The hygienist keeps the one liners coming, which, while corny, eliminated awkward silence. The receptionist and dentist are also friendly. He injects Novocain slowly so it is not painful, so that was also a plus. What I didn't like: very difficult to get appointments. But they are busy and popular, so I can live with that. I also did not like that when I was in with the doctor my friend who drove me was waiting in the reception area and the assistant and hygienist were there too, using really foul language. I am no prude, but this is not professional. Whatever, I could overlook that too for good dental treatment. Final verdict: Won't go back. I need to be able to trust my dentist. I don't want to sit in the chair thinking I am getting the highest standard of care and leave with something I did not ask for or authorize. Unacceptable. read more

I have had ZERO luck in finding a dentist as honest, caring and considerate as Dr. DePrimio. I've always feared the dentist, even for a simple cleaning, but his friendly presence and comfort had put me at ease. I've paid some money out of pocket that dental insurance didn't cover but it was affordable. The individuals in the office are also friendly and helpful. Everyone stop stealing my dentist! He is seriously the best dentist ever. Walking into his office is a bit like walking into the 1970's, but that is ok. He is great. He calls himself Joe and actually remembers things about you. Like the fact that I'm single or where I work or what I do for fun. They also have cleanings on the weekends, so that's important for me. The place is a bit hard to find, and the parking is tricky (you have to find a meter and hope you have enough quarters). However, it's worth it. read more

I found Joe when I started working in Cambridge. His office building is very unassuming. Once you get in and sit in the chair, he takes great care of you. His attentiveness to patients and comfort is great. He'll ask me many times if I'm feeling any discomfort; how am I doing; etc. Definitely would recommend him as a dentist. Unfortunately I cannot agree with the other reviewers. I chose Dr. Deprimio's Office due to the excellent reviews it has on Yelp and because they accepted my MIT insurance. Obviously, I had high expectations. All I needed was a routine teeth cleaning, because my oral health is excellent except that my teeth tend to build up ugly-colored dental calculus quickly. The dental assistant who did my cleaning was nice and professional. However, she did the cleaning without any new equipment but rather just scraped off the darkened calculus and stains on my teeth mechanically. I was surprised because I knew from other dentists that they normally use fancy ultra-sound gadgets, high-pressure water thingies, and smoothing polish... I'm by no means an expert, but it seemed obvious to me that purely mechanical cleaning with some metal scraper was a little outdated. The result looked fine at first. "Well, it got the job done, so whatever", I thought. Unfortunately, the mechanic stress on my teeth "roughened up" my teeth's surface, so the calculus returned faster and much stronger than before. Only three months later I needed another cleaning, for which I chose a different dentist in downtown Boston, who used proper equipment. That did the job and the polishing "smoothened" the surface of my teeth again, so it's fine now. Because the appointments were too close together, my insurance didn't cover the appointment I needed to fix what the hygienist at Dr. Deprimio's Office ruined. I couldn't wait though, because the dark spots really looked terrible. In conclusion, I would never ever chose Dr. Deprimio's Office again for a routine oral cleaning. The purely mechanical cleaning did much more damage than good. Maybe the other services offered are great, or I got unlucky with the hygienist, but I won't poker with the risk of getting the worst oral cleaning ever. read more

Dr Deprimio was my dentist or a few years while I worked in Kendall square. He's a very very very nice and friendly guy. But he's a bit disengaged from his practice. His hygienists are not very thorough and are always in a rush. And instead of teaching me about the state of my teeth they just lecture me (literally word for word the same lecture) about flossing more. They also don't have very modern equipment (x-rays are still on film. my new dentist also has a want to take closeup pictures of my teeth to show me points of interest). I like Dr Deprimio but I'm not going to visit him anymore. read more

Sorry if this isn't a super clever or interesting review, I'm still a little loopy from pain killers. I was having some jaw pain and decided to go see a dentist. Based on Yelp reviews I chose Dr. Joe Deprimio. They were able to squeeze me in the same day (maybe it was because I told the receptionist that i was 'kind of freaking out because I couldn't open my mouth all the way"). Turned out I needed a wisdom tooth extracted.... YAY! Well, i made my appointment for the next week, and in the mean time Dr. Deprimio sent a letter to my apartment to reassure me that I can call them if I had any complications between then and my appointment (very nice of him). Went in this morning, i didn't even feel the Novocaine needle and 15 minutes later the tooth and I were out of there. Granted I had a very easy tooth to pull out, I was very impressed with how quick and painless it all was, and with Dr. Joe's ability to keep me calm throughout the process. What i found even more impressive was at 5PM tonight he called my cell phone to make sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort and everything was okay. Yes, I spoke with the actual dentist... not his receptionist or assistant. Wow! Thanks Dr Joe! read more

Went for my first appointment with Dr. Deprimio about a week ago. He, his staff and the hygienist I saw were very pleasant and professional, but they were also down to earth, and it was relaxing to hear them talk about their pets, and the like, while I was having a cleaning done, (cleanings are usually nerve-wracking for me.) After having moved back here recently from "wonderful" Southern California, it was refreshing that Dr. Deprimio did not try to up sell me unnecessary dental procedures or cosmetic procedures like veneers or whitening, (which I encountered at two different dental "mega-chains" in image-obsessed California.) Yesterday, I got a THANK YOU letter from the Dr., thanking me for becoming a patient! What a sweet touch! Bottom line, Dr. Deprimio seems to enjoy his job, while also taking it seriously. I can see why he doesn't have hundreds of "spare" appointment time-slots available...It's because he's an awesome dentist! Glad I found him! read more

I created a yelp account for the soul purpose of giving Dr. Jo a 5 star rating. I literally LIKE going to the dentist now. Hadn't been in 4 years because of not having dental insurance, so I was petrified I was going to have all of my teeth smashed out and be given a lecture about how reckless I had been about oral hygiene. Not so. The receptionists, who seem cold over the phone are sweet hearts. The dealt with my insurance for me and I didn't pay a dime. Dr. Steve who cleaned my teeth did in fact tell me cheese-tastic jokes the entire time. He was funny and understanding and completely thorough. Dr. Jo was SO nice, and knew everyone by name, and immediately made me feel like I had been a patient of his my whole life. Someone else mentioned his mouth guards being cheaper than everyone else, and this is true. I was given a quote for one and it was FAR less expensive than other dentists will charge you. If I ever did have to get my teeth smashed out of my face, I would go to him for the procedure because I'm confident he would some how make it a positive experience. have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Deprimio and his staff! I am currently a medical professional student going through my final year rotations (meaning I am constantly moving every 3 months). I needed a local dentist and found Dr. Deprimio through both my insurance and by looking at all his positive reviews. I was able to book an appointment quickly (and on a Saturday) and the front desk staff made registering as a new patient quick and easy. When I arrived at the appointment I was greeted warmly and the cleaning I received was thorough. Dr. Deprimio himself is incredibly kind and seemed to genuinely care about my overall health and well-being as a patient and person. Overall I had both a great check up and cleaning as well as an positive experience with the entire staff. If you need a great dentist in the Cambridge/Lechmere area or are a student looking for somewhere to great great care I highly recommend Dr. Deprimio. Girls, be careful. My first visit to this place was just as everyone describes; the congenial hygienist, great dentist and good patient care. However, on just my second visit, the jokes from the hygienist turned dirty..."why does santa claus only cum once a year?" I liked Deprimio well enough, until he gave me a shoddy porcelain crown on one of my back molars that is literally falling to pieces only a few years after the root canal was performed. Combine that with the Mafia-style techniques of collection for bill payment (courtesy of "Debbie," who will leave adorable messages on your voicemail threatening to take you to small claims court), and I will not be returning to this dentist. Ever. Why should I have to pay OVER A GRAND for a shoddy crown that broke less than 5 years after it was put in, and that I now CANNOT have repaired or replaced because no dental insurance will pay to cover it?? Deprimio's office doesn't care. As far as they're concerned, the crown is in my mouth----broken or not, functional or not----and therefore it's no longer their problem. Wonderful. When I can eventually afford it (i.e. - never), I am looking at several thousand dollars' worth of work to replace Deprimio's shoddy porcelain crown. Out of pocket. Meanwhile, I haven't been to a dentist in years because I fear that one will find additional work that needs to be done that I simply cannot afford-----in part thanks to Deprimio's shoddy crown and aforementioned Mafia-style bill collection techniques. In any other line of business, if you provided a product or service (crown, placing a crown) that was defective, non-functional, or didn't perform as it was supposed to (note that a porcelain crown of this type is supposed to hold up for around 10 years----not break after 2-3), you would offer your client/customer a refund, waive the remaining balance on the defective product, or settle with them for a smaller amount. Only in dentistry can you put something in someone's mouth that doesn't perform as it should and then still demand 100% payment for the product (after insurance has already paid out several thousand dollars). This dentist's primary concern is money. Make no mistake. The poster in his office says it all: it's one of those cheesy stock photos of a mansion with a multi-car garage, and the garage is filled with flashy sports cars. This guy is a great dentist, but it would hard to tell from the outside. I recommended him to a couple friends and one got scared off because of appearances. It's true, he does have an image problem. The office might be a converted mobile home. The waiting area is small. Dr. Deprimio himself reminds me more of a mechanic than a dentist.... None of that matters to me. What matters is I got really good service every time I went there, and he knows his stuff. My fillings were painless, even the Novocaine shots! He didn't recommend unnecessary procedures. Even after pointing out the things the lowlifes at Gentle Dental screwed up, he recommended I get GD to fix them for free. He's a great dentist, and he's got a great staff. I agree with everything the previous reviewer said, and would add that I was sketched out at the cross-stitched diploma hanging on the wall. Turns out the experience was really good and the dental assistant Jokey McJokealot was good at distracting me from the routine cleaning by firing a non-stop barrage of 3rd-grade level jokes at me. The only downside to the operation can be the receptionist, who I think struggles a bit. While she is very chatty, she has questionable phone skills, made me wait an unnecessarily long time while she was processing/photocopying my paperwork, and kept mixing up dates and times when I was trying to schedule another cleaning. Also, every dentist I've been to (going on 4 now) tends to schedule a follow up 6-month appointment at the end of the current appointment, but she didn't. I like doctor DePrimio but, administratively, his office is difficult to work with. I finally gave up after calling them 3 times to schedule a cleaning and not getting called back. It's rare to actually get someone on the phone when you call, usually it goes to voicemail. Also, I have recently learned from the new dentist I am seeing that the mouth guard he made me is old tech and not very effective for what I need it for. read more

I feel a little bad about the one-star review, because Dr. Deprimio is a nice person. However, I have had the worst experiences with his office. In addition to it being near impossible to get an appointment less than 2 months out (and, as a grad student, I have an incredibly flexible schedule), the receptionists are difficult in that trying to pin down an appointment date is like pulling teeth (pun intended). They'll ask when you want to come in. You say, "The next appointment available." They respond, "Well, what date do you want?" You give a date. They say, "That's not available," without offering an alternative. This continues on and on. My biggest complaint is that they have billing practices that are either incredibly disorganized or downright fraudulent. I was billed twice for something my insurance had ALREADY covered. When I called to sort it out, they kept telling me that the billing specialist wasn't available at the time, and that I had to call back--and refused to take a message. It took an in-person visit to the office to sort out the mess. Overall, I think Dr. Deprimio is a nice guy and a good dentist. However, I did have to get a root canal on a tooth that he had supposedly fixed for good, so he is by no means perfect. read more

This is a great dentists office. They told me the max they're allowed to charge me (which my insurance did not). Also, he told me I didn't have any cavities (when my last dentist said I had three!), and the only thing I needed to do was fix a filing that my last dentist set improperly. They didn't even charge me upfront. The building is kind of sketchy and the waiting room isn't the fanciest, but I don't think I'll go to another dentist for as long as I live in Cambridge/Boston. read more

Another update to be fair, Dr. Joe did get my message and called me back later on that night but I will still leave it at 3 stars because I think his reception staff should be as good as the rest of the place. And the reception staff should be present during all business hours which I don't find is true. These guys make dentist visits fun! Lots of joke-telling, but in between, they explain what they're doing and take the time to answer your questions. I don't carry dental insurance, and the office was willing to work out a reduced rate for me. For that alone, I'm grateful. read more

Hands down the best dentist (and hygienist - Chris) I've been to in my life. They are friendly and efficient, while remaining thorough and professional. In an industry where "bedside manner" is all but absent, and while dentistry typically conjures images of masked men with large drills, Joe has managed to make my visits - even those which require a little more work - surprisingly comfortable! One month before my wedding, I managed to chip one of my front top tooth falling off my bike. Panicked that my wife would kill me, I called up Joe, and he scheduled me for the next day. The process was completely painless, and Joe took the time to listen to my story, carefully look at the damage, laugh at me a bit, and fix the tooth as if nothing had happened. The tooth looks perfect, and my wedding pictures were saved. read more

Let me preface this by saying I have had year and years of experiences with dentists. I have had everything from crowns to root canals and I can say, in all my years of visiting dentists Dr. Joe is the best I have ever seen. This office is a diamond in the rough. I want to say that this office is not state-of-the art. It doesn't have the clinical feel of a new office but it feels more like someone's home. What it may lack in flash it makes up for in personality and care. I have been to dentists who have the fanciest, newest equipment and none of it compares to the gentle and considerate touch of Dr. Joe. He gave me a shot of novicane today for a filling that I needed and I NEVER felt the needle. I didn't even know that was possible. Not to mention the fact that 3 months ago I saw a different dentist and they claimed I needed SIX cavities filled. Dr. Joe said it was really TWO. For once I feel like I can trust a dentist and not feel like I am being taken to the cleaners and wrung dry for every last cent I have. What a relief!!! I got my first piece of mail from Deprimio's office today. We all know that feeling when we get our first bill. I can't comment on the cost (I will update review later but I imagine I will be as pleased as I am with the rest of the experience) but my first piece of mail from them was a thank you letter thanking me for my patronage! What a class act. (round of applause). I no longer fear the dentist. Dr Joe is saving me from anxiety, fear and an empty wallet. Awesome! Dr. Deprimio and his hygenist at the time (his sister) were the most fun I've had at a dentists. Despite the fact that she is a Yankees fan and tried to carve an NY logo in my tooth (just kidding) they did an awesome job. I lost a filling and they got me in on short notice, sorted me out, did a nice job and got me on my way. I'd highly recommend them and find it great that they enjoy their work and can laugh and have fun with their patients. read more

Great dentist. I always feel comfortable with Dr. Deprimio. He does a great job. I've needed a root canal and had to get my wisdom teeth removed and he referred me to fantastic surgeons for both. He also did my crown and it was a excellent work. The office is a bit old school, but their work is great. read more

Dr. DePrimio and everyone in his office couldn't be more wonderful. It's hard to find a dentist who genuinely cares about his patients and is actually honest and up front with you. I've had so many terrible experiences with dentists who've tried to convince me right off the bat that I need lots of unnecessary expensive dental work, but Dr. DePrimio isn't interested in making as much money as possible off of you - he actually just wants to make sure your teeth are in good shape. Amazing, I know. On top of that, he and his staff are friendly, welcoming, happy to answer all your questions, and clearly know what they're doing. I'm a grad student with no dental insurance, and so I've considered going to one of the dental chains around here that offers super-cheap specials for new customers - but in the end, I'd rather just pay a little bit extra to see Dr. Joe and know that I'm in good hands. (Also, his prices are pretty darn affordable, so that helps too!) read more

I will make it short and sweet. Dr. Deprimio doesn't have the most high tech office and technology but he is a dam fine dentist. He always makes sure you're doing ok during an exam which most dentists never do. And the staff has personality. They love to joke and makes a dentist visit that much better. I will keep him as my primary dentist as long as his doors are open! read more

I am not a lover of going to the dentist, and what I hate most is the suspense of picking a new dentist. I spent the entire morning before my visit rehearsing, in my head, what I would say to the dentist if he acted like I didn't know what a toothbrush was. However, my well planned diatribe was not necessary, as the hygienist (Debbie) and the dentist were nice, pleasant people who eased my anxiety. I have to say, if you dread the dentist, go here. Really. They will make you feel better, and they don't herald you with worse-case-scenarios. read more
