Can I give less than one star? I started working with a loan officer of his, who is the unfortunate loser in this transaction (she's actually really nice). They could never give me a straight, official answer on how much I was responsible for with closing costs, then we ordered a rush appraisal trying to close a deal quickly as we were greatly stressed with some timing issues. The appraiser was there the same day it was ordered! Awesome, so far. Three days went by and we continually asked if the appraisal was in or if they had a status. We were told no, and we just had to wait because it was out of their hands. I'll skip a lot of detail, but after a full 7 days (rush should be 3 days, normal appraisal around 5 days) I found the appraiser's info at the bottom of one of the e-mails and e-mailed him myself. He replied within hours and said the report was done a week ago!! The day after he visited the property!! Come to find out the only person with access to the VA portal for the appraisal was the CEO's wife, and she supposedly had never been told the report was in or that we were looking for it. But, upon further research, it looks like the "CEO's wife" is also the Operations Manager - one of the people we and the loan officer were asking for the appraisal status!!! I had even sent the response from the appraiser (that it had been completed a week ago) to the Operations Manager, and her response was, " ... I hope you understand that just because the appraisal isn't back, doesn't mean we aren't putting the pressure on them. Myself and my team have been trying to get the appraisal back for days now and will keep on it." LIES and utter, blatant BULL SHIT!! Again, this was her response to me telling her that THE APPRAISAL REPORT WAS COMPLETE/SUBMITTED A WEEK AGO!! She didn't even bother to read and mentally process my e-mail prior to spitting out her B.S. And this is the person with access and responsibility for the VA portal!! So, while everyone was asking for the report, she was THE ONE person who had access to it, but chose (through negligence or laziness) not to check.
Sloppy work all around - I'm skipping a few details, like redundant paperwork due to errors, all coming from the same Operations Manager/CEO's wife. We found another option in a hurry and fired Jordan's team. Jordan himself called to "explain" the situation - just another episode of excuses and finger pointing that we were getting from his company, rather than an apology and solution. He blamed his "secretary" for not passing along some information - I don't know if he even has a secretary, but I'm guessing he didn't want to lay blame on his wife, who was the actual problem. After he ranted for a few minutes without taking a breath, I interrupted, explained that I was busy, and I was unconcerned with which single individual was responsible and more concerned with his company (as a whole) being incapable of taking care of business. I said I was busy, and he needed to fix his company's issues for his next client, but I wasn't a client any more, and hung up.
Jordan called back and left a voice mail (I really was busy - cooking for my little girls). The voicemail went like this (I wish I could add the audio so you could hear the tone of his voice): "... I don't know who you think you are, but it's pretty fuckin' rude to hang up on somebody. Inconsiderate, and I don't know if you think you're that high and mighty ... yeah I see the issue here and it's, it's pretty clear ..."
Clearly and completely incompetent and unprofessional, I can see how the issues start at the top. Jordan, if you do read this: I know who I am. I am the one that you are not making thousands from because your company blew the transaction. I am the bigger man who cut ties frustrated, but with civility. Not the "CEO" who believes bullying and swearing is somehow going to grow his business, rather than customer service and solid business practices.
DO NOT trust this company, especially with important and complex transactions like real estate.
**UPDATE 1/4/16 - After several e-mails from Jordan asking me to remove this review or face legal action, I want to clarify. I stand by the review; Tuyen presented herself (in e-mail) as the "ops manager overseeing the lending side of your transaction." Most of the paperwork for our transaction went through Tuyen. The only error is that there was another company, Provident Lending Group, that ordered the appraisal and funded the loan. I'm not sure of Jordan/Tuyen's "official" relationship with Provident, but Tuyen is the one who presented herself and New Paradigm (Jordan Yarbrough) as the company handling our loan. If this wasn't the case, I question why I was providing detailed financial and personal info to them, and why he's sending me personal e-mail to remove a Yelp review. read more
