Working with Gary Johnson from Cross Country Mortgage was an absolute pleasure. His professionalism and expertise are very apparent from the moment we started working together. Gary went above and beyond to ensure that we were able to secure a mortgage loan for our very unique work circumstances, and financial situation (we are travel nurses). He listened carefully to our needs and priorities and worked tirelessly to get us a loan approval. Throughout the entire process, he was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had, and he provided invaluable guidance and advice to ensure that we were fully informed and confident in our decisions. His level of customer service was truly exceptional, and it made the entire experience relatively painless and stress-free. I have no doubt that anyone who works with Gary will have an equally positive experience and will be impressed by his professionalism, expertise, and commitment to his clients. I highly recommend Gary to anyone in need of mortgage services, especially for ones who plan to purchase in Riverside County. read more

A few months ago, I signed up for auto-pay to reduce the stress of remembering to make and on-time payment. They took the payment on the 30th of the month, rather than on the 1st as per the agreement, causing my account to be overdrawn since I had not yet made a transfer. I had to go through my bank to stop payment. THIS month, I made a payment online and never received confirmation - through email or by going back into the online system to see pending payments. Thinking I had made an error and didn't finalize the payment, I made the monthly payment. Turns out - that first payment DID in fact post and was delayed on their end. When I contacted the company for a refund of the double payment, they advised me to yet again, call my bank to stop the payment. Disappointed in this company and their lack of customer service to any level. Wouldn't recommend them for anything. read more

My va loan was easy, pain-free and a good rate. Communication was consistent and things were explained to include next steps. Will be looking to refi with them once rates drop next summer/fall. read more

"You can obsess about serving your customers/audience/clients, or you can obsess about beating the competition." -Kevin Kelly Everyone wants to feel like they're your only client. Now of course that can't be the case, but the amount of attention and time that is given to you by someone who is ultimately selling you something has a huge impact on how you feel about them. Even though the financial world was doing somersaults Sunny took the time *I* needed to feel comfortable about what refinancing our home would look like. I had questions, my wife had questions, we discussed various options and were able to settle on what worked best for us, in our situation. He thoroughly explained every step of the process before it happened. He gave me a heads up when underwriting took longer than expected #becauseCovid. He has systems, tools, experience, and a team that make the transactional part of our relationship secondary. Seriously, he kept telling me that I should talk to other lenders just so I would feel good about making the decision to have his company refi my home. The thing is, when you find good people, who you KNOW have your best interest at heart, you don't need to verify anything; you don't need multiple "bids". The decision is made who you're working with, the rates and structure - those are just details. For me, Sunny is my lender... we'll work out the details later. read more

Thank you so much to Matt and Sunny. We are first time homebuyers. So I met Matt through my Realtor, he was very friendly and approachable. He explained the process, what to expect and finally our options that were open to us. We felt very comfortable with Matt and Sunny at the helm. They both were in contact with us through everything and if we ever had a question Matt was readily available to answer. We could never thank you enough, I have shared my experience with a few friends and even strangers. We are throughly convinced that everyone should go with Cross Country for their lending needs. A very well deserved 5 Stars and our gratitude for getting us our first home. Got our keys October 2018 read more

My morgage went up 500 because of an escrow shortage. The previous year i was given a check because my escrow had too much im a first time homeowner so i didnt know what to do with the check i called them and they said the check was mine to do w.e i wanted with so i saved it a year later they bill me with a payment of xtra 500!! I called n they said escrow had a shortage so i was immediately upset and they said i could have put that money right back into ny escrow acct to avoid this issue! Why was i mot told this a year ago when i called to ask??? 500 xtra is not doable for me so i asked what my options were and i was told if i paid around 3k my payment would be reduced by 300 .... train your agents better! When starting off with this company for a refinance my agent was Ryan McBain and he himself is a amazing person. Although he works for the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I have bought and sold a previous home so I'm familiar with mortgage companies. In the very beginning they sent a closing disclosure to us thru docu sign that said we would be getting about $500 back at closing, ok great! But money for us was never the issue we only were looking for a lower interest rate/mortgage payment. But when the notary shows up for us to sign she said we would be getting a little over $2100 back which we signed with all the rest of the closing docs. Then we received a email from a different person days later saying unfortunately they forgot to add the interest in so we would get $800 back instead (which we never signed) two days later I received a closing disclosure from another person stating we would get $2000. Which I promptly called Ryan to find out why? After he did his research I was told that it was the title companies mistake and we would be getting the $2000. When I called the title company they said it was CrossCountry that made the mistake (passing the blame back and forth.) Then another couple days go by we received a check for $800 when I called to question it (also calling my realtor for help) I was told that another closing disclosure was sent out by mail from another person, for $2200 now. but he would check into it and find out how much more would be mailed out. Got a call back today saying "I'm sorry $800 is all you get." Then Sunny calls me to explain why but he seemed to be very condescending the whole time I was talking to him! Even after Ryan tried to tell me sorry for the mix up. Sunny down talked his own employee and told him they have nothing to be sorry for! Sunny also started to down talk my real estate agent and told me she should stick to the real estate side because she obviously doesn't know the back side (which I found VERY unprofessional) and basically stated it wouldn't make no difference if he lost my real estate agents business! but since my agent has been in the industry for over 20 year she obviously knows something. I told him it would have just been nice to be told where the mistake happened in the first place and he passed the blame onto my old lender even though our payoff amount was faxed to them prior to us signing the closing docs. Sunny told me "he was not made aware of any of the mix up until today ( 2 weeks after the closing) but I should be glad they handled my refinance in such a short time considering COVID"(which I also had a hand in since I was prompt on sending everything they requested) That is not how I think a problem should be handled! I would not recommend this company to anyone! read more

We originally heard about Sunny through a mutual friend and decided to call him to have a chat. From the very first conversation Sunny was great! My wife and I were first time home buyers, and like any other first timers we had tonnes of questions. The first time we met with Sunny, he explained what the pre-qualification process entails, step-by-step. It was succinct, but the clarity of the explanation was phenomenal (to the point that I can explain the process to others now ;)). We explained what our concerns were and Sunny would walk us through the details taking care to make sure we understood at every step. Subsequently all our questions were answered in a timely manner. Sunny and his staff made sure we were kept informed. We were especially pleased with the attention at a personal level - Sunny was always making sure we made the best possible decision irrespective of what that meant to his business. Sunny's main objective is to make sure the customer's needs are met at all costs and will go out of his way to make that happen. We had heard horror stories regarding closing on properties and secretly dreaded it. But when our time came to close on the home everything was ready and funded and the entire process was so smooth, we were wondering what all the fuss was about! I am sure there were things going on in the background but the way Sunny and his group handled it was simple superb. Our sincere gratitude to AMG for their tremendous efforts. I would definitely recommend Alamont Mortgage Group to anyone who is looking for an honest, exceptionally knowledgable mortgage company to work with. read more

Do not do business with this company. I lost 2,650 $ in hopes of purchasing a home. They tell you everything is ok to keep you happy when it's actually not. The entire process took very long .... and I wasn't denied or approved for a loan. I've tried to contact corporate in regards to this situation but no one returns any calls... everyone is very lazy. I repeat ... do not apply with cross country mortgage. There are so many other company to move forward with. read more

I will definitely be coming back to Sunny when I'm ready to buy a home of my own. Their knowledgeable staff is always there ready to answer even the simplest of questions you might have. It was a relatively quick despite the COVID lockdown. read more

I am a first time home buyer and heard all of the horror stories of dealing with mortgage companies. I saw these reviews for AMG and thought I would give them a try since everyone had great things to say. I have never written a yelp review before, but the service I received was excellent so I figured I had an obligation to write something. From the beginning to end I felt like I had all my questions fully answered and the transaction was easy. I never once felt like I was being talked in to anything or sold on any sort of ideas. Sunny was my loan officer and he sat me down and took the time to explain to me all of my options. He was very polite and patient. Hands down I would recommend all of my friends and family to AMG because I know through my own experience they will be taken care of and not ripped off. Thanks Altamont Mortgage Group read more

I originally worked with Sunny when he was with KB Homes; he helped us wrench our loan away from a horrible lender who was not going to be able to close in time for us to move into the new property, and even helped us save money in the process! Fast forward two years later, and my family has gone back to Sunny to help my brother purchase a property, my parents purchase a property, and my wife and I refinance our property. He has spent hours on the phone with me making sure that I understand the whole process, and gives advice on a personal level to make sure that you are making the best decision regardless of the outcome for his business. The proof of his goodwill: after spending all that time advising me and my family, he ended up walking away from money by referring us elsewhere for two of the three loans that I mentioned above. He actually advised me to go with another lender after they offered an unbelievable rate in the middle of the process of my application with his company. Also, my parents ended up purchasing outside of his licensed territory, but he still spent time advising them of what they should look for with financing in their area. This guy recognizes that his customers are his business, and helping his customers make wise decisions is his mission. Sunny and his group are informative, honest professionals in an industry that typically thrives off of confusion and misinformation. Make them your first stop and odds are you'll soon find yourself to be a repeat customer! read more

Working with Sunny & Crystal has been a true blessing! From the very beginning of the refinancing process, they were very patient and answered all our questions. I have had the worse experience with this company....im not going to smear anyones name as much as i want to but i wouldn't recommend these folks to my worse enemy! I signed up on here just to write a review about how bad my experience has been. Delays upon delays, asking for the same information numerous times, giving false information and putting things off onto other employees. I was told we would close on the 2nd and now here we are, the 22nd and they said we were signing yrsterday, then today and now its tomorrow. My realtor said this is not normal and she is just as frusterated as i am.....i will be using quicken loans next time this is ridiculous! read more

Just finished a complicated refinance with Altamont Mortgage. Mike Dannenberg handled the refinance in a professional manner. Before running my credit or making any promises, he looked over my paperwork to give me good "guesstimate" of the likelihood of this loan going through. After reviewing the circumstances that lead to previous hurdles, he felt he could make it happen. During my refinance process, the lock on the loan had to be extended twice. Both extensions were due to circumstances with my current lenders paperwork. I don't know who eats that cost but, it wasn't me. Towards the end of the loan, I shopped my costs around with other companies in order to ensure I was receiving the best deal. I gave them copies of my Good Faith Estimate and each company said they could not beat the fees, or rate. Here is the bottom line...I would never go with another mortgage company except Altamont Mortgage. Mike Dannenberg was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. read more

I was referred to Sunny Singh by a real estate agent that was trying to help us figure out how we could buy a home. She said to me "I know a guy, and he's really amazing, can I call him"? I said sure, why not! From the moment I spoke with Sunny he scooped me up and put me under his wing and navigated me through this very complex, convoluted process of obtaining a home loan. This was further complicated given that I am also somewhat complex and convoluted and do not necessarily match what I look like on paper. He saw me as a whole picture and not just what could be personified in a number (credit score). Although my credit is not horrible, it's also not perfect. He advised me on ways to quickly improve my snapshot while still looking for a loan that was right for me in the here and now. With the help of my real estate team we got into escrow within a couple days of looking at houses. The process was complicated by a low appraisal and seller not wanting to sell his house for what it was worth. So, that one fell apart. We quickly got into escrow on a second house and Sunny had me ready to close in just a few weeks, with. With a Great interest rate! I cannot thank Sunny and his team, including Ryan and Adrienne, enough. I am truly behind grateful for your support and belief in me! I consider a trusted friend that I would go to for any future real estate needs! Thank you so much! Cat & Napoleon read more
