We did not have a good experience with Jonz Catering for our wedding July 1. The food was not good for the price. For nearly $4000 the cold sandwiches and meager salads sans the promised fruit did not taste good, nor were they presented in an attractive way. In retrospect could have done better with Panera. Also, though additional money was sent for their contracting to set out tables and chairs (Pagoda House--Pt. Defiance)--those who came to serve knew nothing about that arrangement. The wedding party ended up setting out all of the tables and chairs though it had been prepaid for to Jonz Catering. One funny thing--the owner of Jonz Catering said that food should not be taken out by guests. Frankly few wanted to, so that was not a problem. Though polite, many guests complained to others in our wedding party about the poor quality of food. The only good thing about the experience with Jonz Catering were the two women servers who stayed (the owner or woman I made arrangements with left quickly). The two servers were polite and graciously cut our wedding cake when the baker left. I would warn not to use Jonz Catering. I did not have a good experience. I have been embarrassed about the quality of served food and it was definitely a disappointment of our important day. read more

We used Jonz Catering for our wedding at the Press Room in January 2024. They were amazing and so thoughtful. The staff was lovely and even danced along with us behind the bar. We were able to do a full tasting of our menu before the wedding in a very intimate setting and we loved the food. We chose the South of the Border buffet and they were able to make accommodations for our vegan and vegetarian guests. Everyone raved about the food and having chips and salsa/guac on the tables was a huge hit. They were so helpful at keeping our wedding on the perfect timeline and getting everyone fed and keeping the buffet full. Shannan was always available for questions throughout the planning process and we were able to make small changes to the bar right up until the wedding. Highly recommend! read more

She was quick to respond, answered all of my questions (I had a lot!) and never made me feel like I was a bother. Without us even asking, she even went out of her way to talk to the Chef about making our entire menu gluten and dairy free knowing that we were both dairy free (we had only asked for special plates). The day of the event the staff was right on time, friendly, super helpful and went above and beyond to make it perfect for us. The servers and bartenders made it so fun and never made any requests feel like a bother. Do not use this service if you have any concerns about providing meals for individuals with dietary requests or restrictions. The unprofessional staff gave out a bag labeled "vegetarian" to all gluten free event attendees. When asked if the wrong bag was handed out, they said "yeah that's for the gluten free people". There's a cookie in the bag. "Are you sure this is safe? Some people bleed or vomit with celiac wheat reactions" to which they said they were not supposed to have cookies in the bag. We just recently moved to University Place and decided to have an open house so all our friends could see our new place. Of course didn't want to cook and finding a catering company that would come to our house appeared difficult since all wanted you to come to their establishment and have the party there - got these people out of the phone book and couldn't have been more pleased. Food was absolutely outstanding, over the top one guest called it. Great selection of items for all sorts of different types of parties, appetizer, full meal, box lunches, etc. Run by a husband and wife team who are nice, efficient and came the day after to pick up their serving pieces and very nicely took all the empty wine bottles away so we didn't have to make a trip to the recycling. A month ago I co-hosted a surprise birthday party for 40 guests in the garden at my home in Gig Harbor. We had Jonz cater our event and I can say without reservation that they made it a smashing success! We worked with Kelly who was very helpful in selecting the menu and planning the party from beginning to end. It was a casual affair where guests could sit at tables or mill around. Everything on their menu sounded so delicious it was difficult to choose. We selected a variety of "small plate" dishes that ranged from sophisticated items to simpler ones, and most were finger foods. Even before we tasted our meal we were impressed by its beautiful presentation. The food on every platter looked generous, fresh, colorful, and artfully arranged. Each dish was special, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all! I can't say enough about the fabulous service provided by Kaitlyn on the day of our party. We marveled at how competent and unflappable she was from beginning to end. It seemed to us that she handled the work of three people, yet she made it look effortless. With perfect timing, and in an organized and coordinated fashion she brought out platter after platter of food throughout the event. She kept the wine flowing, and expertly served cake and champagne. Kaitlyn has a wonderful presence. She is delightful, warm, and gracious, and was a pleasure to work with and have in our home. Many of our guests commented on how beautifully she handled our event. The folks at Jonz Catering have been taking great care of us for 10 years now. I have used them for non profit events that have served anywhere from 20 people to 200. They go the extra mile to accommodate special request on menu and food preferences for particular guests. They have provided everything from a sit down elegant plated 3 course meal out by the water, to a 120 guest complicated menu in a venue with no kitchen. Our guests have raved about their quality and service. The biggest testament is the fact that so many of our guests have chosen Jonz for their own events, after they've been to one of ours. Horrid attitude... I'm sure that they're be great for those who have endless amounts of money. My wife and I where shopping around for an affordable catering company because we where on a budget for the wedding. We sent a very kind email letting them know our budget and if it was something they could work with. Not only was it almost two weeks later they replied after we gave up waiting for a reply to our email or phone voicemail asking for a quote, but the email we received was just nasty. It was almost as though they where offended that we would dare ask if they could help us on our budget, and was absolutely certain that no catering company could ever accommodate us. All in all it was quite easy to find a company that not only liked us but could fit our budget. The people are awesome to work with. Professional, kind and helpful. They were confident about being able to accommodate making belizean rice and beans, belizean potato salad, and belizean stewed chicken. We provided you tube videos to ensure they knew the exact recipe. A few days before the wedding we had a tasting, the chef was awesome, he did a great job at the tasting everything pretty much was as close to the real thing. The day of the wedding (only 60 people attended) the rice and beans were nothing like they were at the tasting. They were made incorrectly and even tasted nasty. The potato salad was more like mashed potatoes. They forgot the bbq sauce for the ribs. Our DJ announced the champagne toast was about to happen, leading the two leads to rush champagne out to tables. They set champagne on our children's table. Our 14 year old smelt the alcohol and alerted my husband who moved it to a different table. Overall the people are nice , our guests had a great time. I do not recommend them if you want a custom menu. The appetizers and food on their menu was delicious. read more

Cannot say enough positive about this catering company. Had our wedding catered by them and from the first walk through at the venue (LeMay Car Museum- Tacoma) it was a great experience. They had helpful ideas on set up and made us feel very confident that all the details would be addressed. Our wedding date came and they were right on time, had speedy set up and were very helpful with other details that I had added last minute. Was at a fundraiser event in Lakewood for the local spay & neuter program and Jonz provided the food. If you could call it that. A small salad that was acceptable, unheated store bought rolls, and the highlight was a vegetarian southwestern quiche type dish that was cold accompanied by undercooked potatoes (and potatoes were the main part of the quiche) and carrots with no seasoning or sauce. There is a seemingly unlimited choice of food and drink, and Linda made sure we were comfortable with the cost and food choices. There was no up-selling or hidden fees. Every detail is in writing and she is always available for questions. The staff, Ambrosia and Danielle were wonderful to say the least. Jonz recently catered my wedding held at a private residence, and did a fantastic job. They worked with us to design a custom menu, such as clam chowder shooters to tie in my husband's east coast upbringing and making a favorite salad of ours. All of the food was awesome, although my husband said his beef was warm instead of hot (I didn't notice). The waiters went above and beyond, doing things like helping my grandpa carry his food (he has a cane). They ensured everything ran smoothly: they were on-time, we had plenty of food, they made sure my parents table was completely protected, and left the house spotless. If you are thinking about using them think again you will be sorry. They said they would do things that they didn't do and when it was time to pick up and package the left overs they came late and with nothing. Linda and her team at Jonz Food Concepts are a dream to work with! I wanted a plated meal with a customized menu that showcased my husband's Chilean heritage for 75 people, and boy did they deliver! And this was after we talked with another catering company across the bridge that adamantly (and in a rude way) claimed that in our chosen reception space, the Point Defiance Pagoda, a plated meal with servers was not doable, period, and that we needed to do a buffet, how they normally do things. Just goes to show how Jonz will do anything to make your vision come true! I booked Linda about a year in advance and throughout the year she was always quick to answer my emails and phone calls, something I really valued since planning a wedding can get kind of stressful. As I mentioned before, her husband, the chef, came up with 3 amazing entrée options that reflected my northwest background with my husband's Chilean background. We got so many compliments on the food! I only wish my stomach would have been able to handle more food so I could have eaten more haha, it was that good! It all came out hot too, which sometimes can be a tricky business for plated meals, but it was perfect! Another great thing about working with Linda was that she knew and had previously worked with many of our other vendors (the DJ, florist, cake guy, venue coordinator, etc.) so she was able to easily provide her opinions and recommendations on things based on her previous experiences working with them. Although I hadn't considered it before, my vendor's familiarity with one another was a HUGE plus since it took a lot of the stress and pressure off me to coordinate things beforehand (I did have a day-of coordinator) since everyone was already familiar with everyone else and how they liked to do things. And finally, the last thing that was SO appreciated was their flexibility with alcohol. We chose to host our own bar using their AMAZING bar staff (I'm terrible with names, but shout out to the girls who worked my wedding, you were awesome!). This enabled us to serve pisco, Chilean liquor, at our wedding, something we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. All our Chilean guests were so shocked we had pisco (and were able to serve up a mean pisco sour!), and it wouldn't have happened without Linda and her staff. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Once again Jonz knocked it out of the park at our event last week. We had a wonderful appetizer event for 200 for our company and the food, as always was AMAZING! I have worked with Jonz for over 5 years, since they were the new kids on the block. I gave them a shot at our annual company event for 250 guests just to see what they could do. I was blown away at the level of food that they produced. Their staff was so professional and courteous. Since my first event with them, I have used Jonz for over a dozen events and they have never let me down. Each event has delicious food that is so beautifully presented, and their service is wonderful. They have done countless corporate events for us, as well as both of my daughter's weddings. The eldest had a sit down plated dinner and our youngest had a heavy appetizer party. Both events were flawless. Chef David has created so many custom menus for us. He is constantly coming up with new and innovative ideas that are so delicious. The lavender blackberry lamb lollipops that we had at our last event were to die for! Not only are Linda and David about the nicest people you ever want to meet, but they are always responsive and helpful with every aspect of our party. They have help arrange flowers, music and even a photo booth. They have recommended some incredible vendors that we have used again and again. I have been planning parties for several years with my company and have used almost every caterer in Tacoma as well as many in Seattle, and not one of them comes close to the quality and flavors of Jonz food. While putting on an event for a local non profit we were forced to change caterers to Jonz when they became the new in house caterer at the venue we were using. They were very rude, and condescending as though they were somehow doing us a favor. They came in $100 over our budget, which was not too big a deal for a last minute change, but they said this was a $1000 catering job that they were discounting for us. We had asked for meat and cheese trays as this was a Wine tasting event. We were given $20 worth of pub mix from Costco, chips and salsa, potato chips and ranch, again probably from Costco, and only one meat and cheese tray which probably served 15 guests. There were no servers or set up we were paying for, just about $100 worth of food from Costco. The only complaints we received about the event was the food. This is theeee worst company EVER!! My mom's memorial was on Tues. we paid these people over 900.00 for crappy food, horrible service, and she had the nerve to call and bitch me out about a review that I didn't even write. Not to mention this was for my mother's memorial, and my dad was in the hospital when she called me. They were late to pick up the leftovers at the memorial which they were supposed to provide containers for, instead she told me to put the platters of food in the back of my car and she would pick them up at the house. They didn't even bring saran wrap, the church had to supply that. She told me that it would be beautiful and served on crystal platters. The salads which were awful,and were served in silver mixing bowls and the sandwiches, fruit and vegetables were on white ceramic trays. When they came late to pick up the platters and bowls from my dad's house, my sister was there to let them in, as she (linda) was leaving she said with a completely rude attitude...you're welcome! I hope everyone spreads the word about this company, nothing but a rip-off, rude, uncaring, bunch of liars. read more
