I found Jon's Windshield Service on Google because I was in the need of my back window to be replaced asap, looking at some videos on youtube made me nervous about possibly loosing the glass all together so I quickly found him and saw that he had good ratings so I called him, gave him my information (vehicle type/year) and he order the window, came out when I was available and fixed it right on the spot, in no time flat. Great job, wonderful service, low price ( lower than anyone else I called) Thank you Jon, I will pass your name on to anyone I know needs glass repair or replace. I read the reviews about Jon's Windshield Services and was excited that their prices were reasonable. I decided to go with them because they looked like a small shop and I am all about helping small shops especially in these times. They scheduled to come to my house and fix my window on Friday, but called and said they'd come the Thursday before. I was happy to get my window fixed a day earlier as I was leaving town Friday. When they come, there was an older man and a younger man. Initially they were friendly, but when I came outside just to see the progress, they informed me that the regulator broke when they were trying to unbolt it. I get it, stuff happens. The older man proceeds to tell me that they plan on super gluing it together and that should be fine. My concern was that it may in fact work, but what if it breaks 1, 2, 3 months down the line? What happens then? So I expressed my concerns and reservations about their approach and they older man said, "There's no way I'm paying for it. I'm not out here to lose money." I respond by saying, "I'm not out here to spend more money. I looked up the regulator price and it's over $50." At this point. The older man laughed at me and mocked me by saying, "Wow, over $50, how will you ever get by?" as if that was the point. The point is that the part broke because of the repairs that they attempted to do. I can't imagine calling an electrician to fix a light switch and they inadvertently broke my light switch, but refused to replace it. That's laughable. I continued to express my frustration and the older man told me, "It's not too late to tell us to stop and call someone else." That was the last straw. I thought about it for a second if I should just suck it up and let them finish, but thought that I'd rather pay someone else for their services than support someone so unprofessional and rude. They REFUSED to admit that they broke it by saying, "it just broke when we unbolted it." to which my response was, "Yes, but you DID break it regardless of if it was an accident or not. These things aren't meant to just break when replacing a window." they responded with a chuckle "I begged a differ." Honestly, $50 is not a lot. The principle is what's important to me. I call someone for the services, they accidentally break something while trying to fix something else. I don't understand what the the disconnect is. I would have honestly just let them finish the job and paid them even though I was unsatisfied with their resolve, but the older man was so rude with his responses that it was pretty easy to make up my mind. $50 costs them the money I would have paid them plus this bad review. It's unfortunate, but they make small business look bad and I'll happily spend more money to bigger corporations just to ensure quality and professionalism. Not once did I hear an apology. Absolutely no accountability. read more
