I've been going to Jons doughnuts since I was a kid. Many, many years I have been a customer. Since I've been pregnant I've been coming here daily. Every morning before work to get my coffee and doughnuts. The other day I came as usual around 645 to get my coffee & doughnuts and noticed there was a line outside. The guy in front of me gave me a weird look but I didn't understand at the time what was going on. A few seconds later a homeless woman walked out of the store, with no shirt on, breasts exposed, and no mask on, holding a Jon's doughnuts coffee cup. She immediately walked right over towards me, very close to me giving me scary looks. I immediately walked Into the store to order my doughnuts and get away from her. I left feeling very frustrated that Jon's Doughnuts had served her. She was not wearing a mask and was partially nude. She should not have been served. I am sad to say that they have lost a regular customer due to this experience. I worry that now she knows jons doughnuts will serve her regardless if she is wearing clothes or a mask she will stick around and make that her regular hang out. Which is the case as o have drove by several times this week and seen her still hanging out here. My teams softball picture hangs in the back at Jon's doughnuts from when I was a kid and I'm very sad to say I won't be returning anymore! Jon's has been my family's Doughnut spot for over 20 years. They are amazing people with delicious doughnuts. They also have donated North Torrance Softball League for many years! My favorite memories at the field was going to the snack bar at Hamilton park and getting a chocolate bar Jon's Doughnut! And if they were out of doughnuts my sisters and i would beg our mom to take us down the street to Jon's to get some doughnuts! Till this day ~15years later~ they ask how me how me and my sister are! Now a days I get a dozen and take them to work in Culver City and all my coworkers are sad when I tell them Jon's is in culver and far from them! I loved this little donut shop. I googled a place that is open early on the way to work. I was purchasing breakfast for 15 people and needed a quick and cheap place to get muffins and donuts. I prefer to support local businesses over the overpriced chains, and was glad I chose Jon's. It was a 3 min detour from Torrance to get to 405 north. I ordered a dozen donuts and 6 muffins. While I was in line, I got hungry and ordered the sausage croissant, which was really good. I probably hadn't eaten a donut in 10-15 years.... but I'd heard about this place and noticed that it was always busy. My manager asked me to pick up some to have in the office one day, so I did. I tried 1/2 each of an old fashioned buttermilk and a white frosted with sprinkles. The white frosted was soooooooooo fresh and super yummy!!! The buttermilk was not so fresh. All the girls in the office said that the donuts were really fresh and yummy though, the point that they asked me to go get some again a week or so later. I did and again I tried the old fashioned buttermilk and again it was not fresh, I think maybe they just cook them longer? Because all of the other types were soft, cakey and super fresh. One girl in the office said it had to have been THE best jelly filled one she'd ever had. It definitely looked amazing. The girls behind the counter are really, really friendly! Family owned store and they must be proud of the great service and yummy, fresh donuts that they have to offer. If donuts are your thing and you're in the area, this is definitely a place to stop and pick up a dozen or more to share. I'm a huge donut fan and decided to check this place out as I frequently pass by it. The inside is very small and looks run down but if you're in the mood for donuts the decor of the store doesn't really matter. I was greeted by a friendly young man and got a glazed donut and a medium coffee for $2.85. I liked how I could actually taste the yeast of the donut and that it wasn't overly glazed. The coffee was hot and fresh. If you have a donut craving definitely check this place out. There's very few places where you can get a donut and coffee for under three bucks these days. read more

I have been coming to Jon's my whole life. Seriously. The guy who owns it still remembers me from when I used to come in all the time during high school, 10 years ago! They're super sweet! Jon's has THE BEST ham and cheese croissant. The ham and cheese is baked inside the croissant so when you bite into it, you have all that cheesy goodness dripping out. Delicious. I love Jon's. I have been coming here since elementary school. I used to ride my bike over with my friends and buy donuts with whatever spare change I had...ah, fond memories. My favorite donut there is the French cruller, light fluffy delicious ring of heaven, glazed or sometimes topped with chocolate or maple. Sometimes they will run out of those, which is a slight disappointment, but luckily their other donuts are also delicious, so I forgive them. The chocolate cake donut is light, fluffy, cakey, and chocolatey, best cake donuts I've had. They also have the standard glazed donuts, glazed twist, sugar twist, chocolate bar, maple bar...and then the fun bear claws and cinnamon twists. In addition to that they have really good ham and cheese croissants. They are huge and filled with tasty swiss cheese, and ham of course. I like to toast mine a little before eating it, they also offer to heat the croissant there if you are going to be dining in at one of their little tables. Anyway, Jon's continues to be awesome. They also open at 4:30 in the morning (I think...possibly 3:30, but I'm pretty sure it's 4:30), so if you're out really late or up really early, the best thing is to swing by for a fresh donut. They do close when they run out of donuts, so the closing time varies, it's usually slightly after when schools get out...I'd say 3~4. But try to get there early so you can get the best pick. read more

So much flavor packed in a little sandwich and coming in just under $4 it's also the best value around. My husband bought a dozen donuts yesterday for breakfast. What caught my eye was a flower looking one. I learned from the other reviews that it is called the French Cruller. I asked my husband to please get at least one glazed and one chocolate if they had it. When he got home he said the place was "non-descript." I often pass this place when I drive down Artesia. The sign itself is very plain, in contrast to their donuts. The Cruller did not disappoint. It was light, scrumptious and unexpectedly moist on the inside. I ate both the chocolate and glazed. Then I sampled the red velvet and blueberry ones. I thought they would be heavy and cake like, but they were melt in your mouth tasty. Went on a Saturday morning around 11am... the selection was pretty low it seemed as if they may have had the Saturday morning rush. The interior was like any other donut shop nothing special. The donuts where subpar I wanted to get half a dozen but they didn't have much variety I was looking to get a coconut glaze. I settled on getting a regular glaze and a glazed twist which did not look very appetizing in the case. I got the donuts only for them not to be fresh. Pretty typical neighborhood donut shop. They had a good selection of stuff, including plain unglazed donuts, which I haven't seen that often. I got a ham and cheese croissant, which the girl offered to heat up. It was good! - 1 star though, because I asked if they had any cream or custard-filled donuts, and she pointed at the long john. Well, ok... I got one, went home later, and ate it... Long johns are usually not filled with cream. They're filled with vanilla pudding. This one was no different.
