This is an amazing venue. Acoustics were very good not a huge theater so not huge crowds food options were plentiful as well as drinks options. Staff was very friendly. The only issue was getting out of the area once the concert was over but I do not know how you could control that. Well, definitely look for future concerts in this venue..

For whatever reason, instead of the desolate scene at the Uber pickup era in Lot 4 after Counting Crows/Gaslight Anthem, there were massive crowds for Offspring/Jimmy Eat World/New Found Glory. The sign marking the pickup area no longer exists, hopefully Uber can get a partial refund of their sponsorship dollars. And perhaps because of the crowd level, I got to enjoy a "classic" Jones Beach shared taxi hawker situation. It seemed like the guy was planned to overcharge a family (not a bad price for four separate concertgoers but it's not like the 9-year-old is going to pay 25% of the total) so I wasn't initially interested but his price was reasonable, perhaps because he found a "whale" who was traveling beyond the usual Freeport station. Another twist was I tried the food. The $7 price tag for the chicken tender wrap had me wondering if some politician was threatening to go after Live Nation's concession prices. The tender itself was a disappointment that won't convert this Team Bone customer to the boneless side, but it may be worth buying just for the pimento cheese. The cheddar jalapeno bratwurst was enjoyable but didn't merit the $12 price tag. Sound quality wasn't as good this time, maybe because I was near a wall. Workers were helpful, including when I had Ticketmaster app problems. I appreciate the fact that they trust you to find your seat own based on numbers and letters but will gladly help if needed. After being in a crammed roach motel like the Wellmont in Montclair I like the spaciousness of Jones Beach Theater. But they should realize that non-car owners like music too and bring back the bus.

An iconic Long Island gem, this open-air concert venue is the perfect place to catch a show under the stars. With stunning waterfront views, modern upgrades, and a fun, family-friendly vibe, it blends nostalgia with fresh energy. Plenty of food and drink vendors are available, and while it's now a cashless venue, there's an easy station to convert cash to card. The sound acoustics are amazing--it's like the music floats right off the water. I look forward to coming back every summer!

We have come to this Amphitheater the past few years to see the Dave Matthews Band. This venue has become one of our favorites! Love coming early and taking a walk or bike ride on the boardwalk. Lots of people take in the beach before a show! A definite stop for us when Dave Matthews tour is on their US tour!

Hello, my fellow Yelpers. It's nice, once again, to be back. This Northwell Jones Beach Theatre, is exactly the ideal place for entertainment. It's my first time, coming here. This evening, I had the opportunity to see my favorite rock band, The Goo Goo Dolls, in concert! There was also a great performance, by Dashboard Confessional. Their music is amazing too! What I love about this venue, is the level of attention and service, that the staff provides to all guests; whether it's regular admission or a VIP... I felt pampered and well-attended at all times. I like the fact that this venue, accommodates all disabilities. The food and drink options are the very diverse. There's something for everyone. Great place.

Came here for the Avril Lavigne concert in August and it was my first time attending a concert at an amphitheater. We took the LIRR from Penn station in NYC and followed all the instructions online. There was a free shuttle from the Freeport LIRR station to and from the amphitheater that had some issues but won't dock stars off here for those issues. Also there aren't that many food options next to he LIRR station so either eat in NYC or you'll have to spend money at the venue. Security and ticket scanning was a breeze. The bathrooms were plentiful at the venue. Seating was easy to find and get to. I appreciated the large elevators to get you up to the higher levels. The one thing I'll remember is the great views. Seeing the water behind the stage was gorgeous. But it quickly disappeared into darkness as the sun set.

This is my first time attending a concert at this theater. Parking: pretty big parking lot and of course, VIP is closer to the building which is extra cost. Don't forget to remember where you park otherwise you will be wandering around the parking lot. Leaving the venue, there is only 1 exit which would be a traffic jam and long waits. This is a nice venue: very spacious, multiple food options, merchandise vendors, and numerous toilets in the restrooms (2 full rows which is amazing). The only issue was the night we attended a concert was the super blue moon. The tide was high even before the concert started. As the concert progress, tide got higher. If you were in the pit of the amphitheatre, you were standing in water. Enjoy.

Ask the Community - Jones Beach Theater

How early do I need to get there to get parking for a Jimmy Buffett concert?

    8am

    What if it rains?

    They never cancel.

Can you listen to the concert from the beach?

Of course if u are close enough to the venue

My tickets say "red awning deck tables" anyone know where those seats are located?

Never heard of those. I go to 15-20 shows there a year. Maybe so.e High Class thing. 🤣 Or fake.

Can you tailgate or even have some drinks in the parking lot before heading into the venue?

Yes u can, plenty of people do it.

Do they sell alcohol inside the venue?

Yes! There are booths inside with alcohol options along with food options

    Are there any bathrooms?

    Yes, Handicapped accessible as well.

Public transportation after the show? This will be my first time at this theater and I'm a little…

Check the bus schedule as well as the train schedule to your destination home. There are usually Cabs/Uber/Lyft available at the Theater at the end of shows.

Live Nation sent me an email saying I have to be in the VIP section to drink and pay up for the seats. Is this true?

It may be true for specific events or event packages but i was there a few weeks ago for the Foo Fighters concert and there were many vendors selling alcoholic drinks in the main area which i bought and carried back to my cheap seats.

Is grilling allowed in parking lot before concert?

People do it all the time, both charcoal and gas. Not sure if it's truly "allowed."

    The theater has Wi-Fi?

Yes. Free guest wifi that you must sign in to use. Good reception.

Is premium parking worth the money? If so what extras do you get?

It depends on how much you are willing to pay not to walk. With General parking you will probably be parked in the next lot over, Field 4. At the end of an event you are part of a mass Exodus walking over the highway on a narrow street. It is unlit…

Going to see a show over the summer, can we bring any sort of bag in to hold car keys/phone/maybe a sweatshirt?

You can carry a bag but it will most likely be search on entry

Can anyone let me know whether or not the Stadium Suites are a great for concerts?

    No

Although the beer selection was extremely limited ( all canned beer BTW) the specialty drinks were very good ( recommend the blackberry vodka lemonade). Bartenders are friendly and attentive but slightly overwhelmed ( may be a staffing issue many establishments are facing). Taking a chance on food ( based on some earlier comments from friends and Yelpers) tried the chicken tenders and lobster roll. I'll admit I was pleasantly surprised tenders were crunchy and the lobster was generously portioned and very good. The fries aren't Mickie D's fries but decent. Food ordering is done at the kitchen window with a beeper notification system. There are folks roaming about the seating area cleaning tables so one can focus on listening to the live music. Ample parking although the lot fills up fast especially with all the volleyball games being played on the beach . However there's a small dirt area thats available to Surf Shack customers located on the right when you enter the lot. Overall great drinks, though expensive, but the food is reasonably priced with nice portions. Check their website for daily specials and future upcoming events.
