I've lived in Healdsburg for 18+ years and switched to Dr. Albeg after my primary physician retired. At the time, I was traveling a lot for work and I had one occasion when I was experiencing extreme pain coming off of a trip. I tried to sched an appointment but was offered the nurse as the Dr. was too busy. She did the general poke and prod and then said she'd report to the Doc and get back to me. Did I mention extreme pain? No response and later that evening, I had to take myself to the ER where they diagnosed a kidney stone. I had a few general annual check-up sessions and it always seemed like he was racing to finish as quickly as possible to maximize turn-over. The nurse does the general stuff, then he flashes in with a big grin, asks general questions, gives generic advice, and then he's gone in 5 minutes flat. My final visit was just before Covid lockdowns. I had lost a lot of weight (on purpose - 35+ pounds) and he didn't comment on why that was or offer a pat on the head saying that was good/bad...same hurry up offense like nothing had changed. When my bloodwork came back with cholesterol levels a bit out of whack due to my intermittent fasting/clean keto regimen (the root cause of the weight loss) he emailed me and told me to just eat more fish. I was frankly shocked at his complete lack of professional curiosity and obvious apathy. Probably late for a tee time and couldn't be bothered. Dr. Albeg is all that is wrong with the medical system. He's lazy, uncaring, and will keep phoning it in until he gets fired or enough bad reviews that he has to move. read more

Don't bother going to this doctor if you have anything more than a simple sore throat or cough. I went to him with heart health concerns I'd be dealing with for several months. Erratic heartrate and blood pressure spikes hitting suddenly and lasting for days on end. Not something I'd ever dealt with before until after I had covid. They had sent me to the ER. When I saw him he was dismissive of my concerns and didn't even bother to arrange basic tests that my cardiologist said should have been done right away. When I called to inform him of the third time I ended up in the ER, where they had done tests and discovered some issues, he was rude, even more dismissive and told me there was nothing wrong with me, I was just having an anxiety attack. Since then he has been proven wrong. He is lazy and clearly not up to date on current health events considering many people have experienced heart issues after covid. Find someone else. I've since found a doctor that actually listens instead of making assumptions and is helping me find my path back to wellness. read more

Dr. Albeg is a pretty good doctor. He's usually patient but I often feel rushed and limited to a five-minute appointment. On the other hand, he's always on time and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. He is very responsive to email and online messaging via the PAMF website. read more

I've been under Dr. Albeg's care for about 5 years and am living proof that he is a good doctor. He takes his time and answers all of my questions and concerns without making me feel too rushed. That said, he always thinks that I should be exercising more and should weigh a bit less, even when I bring an improved me to his office. Oh well. read more

I like Dr. Albeg. He is a good Dr. In general he is against over medicating people, but makes sure that any conditions you have get taken care of. He is very timely - I don't think I've been called into a room 5 mins late for an appt with him. I appreciate this. Highly recommended. read more

Dr. Albeg is a fantastic primary care physician. He's patient and listens and offers healthy lifestyle options before prescribing pharmaceutical remedies or surgical referrals. I'm writing a review now after 15 years because I'm moving out state and sadly won't be able to call him my doctor much longer. read more

Dr. Albeg is an excellent primary care doctor and health "coach". He's smart but down to earth, and he gives great, practical advice to help his patients. He's been coaching me on my diet, and by following his advice, I've lost weight and achieved amazingly good blood test results - I'm the healthiest I've ever been. He genuinely cares about his patients and it shows. He replies to e-mails quickly, and he never rushes office appointments - he even offered me the option of booking an extended appointment anytime I needed it. I highly recommend Dr. Albeg. read more

Some 5 or so years ago Dr. Albeg's laissez-faire attitude, poor listening skills and lack of interest in differential diagnosis nearly caused medical disaster. Had we not moved on to another doctor, death would have been a sure outcome within a few days. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr. Albeg. I acknowledge that my experience is many years in the past and may have been an isolated incident. We all have bad days at the office from time to time. I'm just giving you one data point... your mileage may vary. read more
