When I entered the lab, I noticed there were two employees behind the counter but the interactions with them are minimal. You just add your name to a clipboard and take a seat. The waiting room of the lab area was neat and orderly. Gia called out my name after a few minutes. She helped calm my nerves with her patient demeanor and her skills are outstanding! I only felt a tiny pinch. I get very anxious when needles are coming my way, but she is efficient, fast and calming. Gia also communicates clearly. I was out the door in 10 minutes, total time since I walked through the door. I am ready to enjoy the rest of my Saturday. Thank you, Gia! This Sutter building is quite nice and I noticed that a receptionist is sitting there as you enter the sliding glass doors. There are a number of wheel chairs right by the front door in case there is a need. I am happy to see the lab is open on Saturday mornings. It was a calm and relaxing atmosphere as compared to a weekday. The best thing was that results were posted online within 24 hours and my doctor had already reached out to me by the time I checked my email on Monday morning. Such efficiency!

Dr. Harner was my GP for a few years when I lived in Sonoma County. All was fine until I came in to…read moresee him because my left foot and ankle had become dramatically swollen. Dr. Harner led me to believe there was nothing to worry about. Turns out a swollen foot is a symptom of deep vein thrombosis: a blood clot in the calf. Sure enough, a couple weeks later the blood clot moved into my lungs, and I was hospitalized with a bilateral pulmonary embolism. Dr. Harner should have recognized I was in danger; he could have at least sent me to a specialist for another opinion, as there was clearly something wrong. I feel lucky to be alive.

Two weeks later I ask if the results have come back and they leave me a message saying there was something wrong with my specimen (see photo of voicemail transcription) I immediately call the office, asking if I did anything wrong and they tell me that the specimen is expired which didn't make sense to me, so I call the lab where I sent the specimen to find out from them what went wrong and they tell me that HILL PARK MEDICAL provided me with an expired kit!!! I call Hill Park back and say, hi it was the kit you gave me that was expired, not my specimen, and ask if they can do anything to make it right, and they just say no, you didn't pay for this so what do you want. Honestly what would have made ALL THE DIFFERENCE here would have been if they would have called and said, "Hi, we're so sorry for our mistake! We made an error that is going to be very frustrating for you because you had to collect samples for three days and now you have to go through that again and wait two now weeks for results. We want to make this right with you..." But instead they acted like it was my fault the sample was bad and I had to find out on my own what happened. We did pay for an expensive office visit (through insurance) and I'm shocked they wouldn't check expiration dates.

Dr. Levin feels like he does not like his job and is dispassionate. He is a good Dr. and has a great education. It is largely Northern California Medical Associates that is the problem.

I've had to get X-rays elsewhere but no other imaging facility compares. I've never had more than a 10 min wait, but most times there's little to no wait at all. The check-in clerks are all super friendly. They know me by face now and they always ask how im doing and are just super welcoming. The X-ray technicians have all been very kind and gentle. They explain everything as they're doing it and they're able to work expeditiously to have you in and out. If you don't mind waiting 5-10 min, you can get a CD with your images on the spot to take home with you. I also like that since SPMF is a Medical Group affiliated with Sutter Health, I am able to access my imaging reports online even before my doctor sees it! If you have the ability to choose a facility of your choice for X-rays, I highly recommend SPMF. *Please note that this facility only has the capacity to take x-rays. MRI's and CT scans are performed at a different Sutter facility
