I cannot say enough kind words about Naz and this SalonNaz is a miracle worker!! This woman saved my hair because came in a frizzy mess, and Naz was able to completely reshape my hair. I walked in this salon with chunky blonde highlights, horribly cut bangs and a choppy haircut from a previous salon in Clarendon (No it was not a Jon David Salon) I asked Naz to bring me back closer to my natural soft brown hair with a red undertone and she did just that. Naz was able to thoughtfully consult with me about my hair goals and analyze my natural wavy texture. I was amazed how diligent she was and she did not rush through the haircut which I greatly appreciated. Additionally, the woman that shampooed my hair had hands of a goddess giving the best scalp massage. The woman at the front desk was kind and attentive to all the customers. The salon was clean and everyone was wearing masks. I will be coming back in a few months to see Naz read more

The photo below is Maysaa's work. I was a new client and perhaps she didn't feel like putting in the effort to give me a decent, professional haircut that day because she is supposedly an "expert" stylist who charges $70 for a haircut. The picture speaks for itself. I do appreciate that the following day when I called, they set me up to see another stylist, Levan. I was nervous after the treatment I received the day before. However, Levan did an EXCELLENT job fixing the mess Maysaa created and I was not charged for the second appointment. I would highly recommend Levan, but the experience left me concerned by the standards in place at Jon David. read more

Jon David Salon - This is what my hair looked like right after Maysaa cut and blow dried it. Completely uneven and unprofessional. - Hair Salons Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

I wanted blond highlights and instead my whole head was bleached. The worst part is that it is not even the blond tone I wanted, instead it is yellow in some spots, white in others and splotches of brown where he obviously missed. It is never a great feeling when people who see you say "oh no, what happened?" instead of complementing your new hair. read more

I never leave reviews but am so upset with my experience I hope I can save you - avoid this place. Angela ripped my hair out as she brushed it and had she taken a second to look in the mirror she would have seen the pain and horror on my face. I asked for minimal layers, got massive layers. I specifically said it was important for it to go into a ponytail, it does not. It looks so bad that I have worn it up (with a ton of bobby pins) every day since I got it cut. I also question how sanitary this place is given that she took a clip out of my hair to put in her own hair. read more

UPDATE: David rectified the situation by fixing my hair cut and giving me a refund and a gift card. He was very apologetic. The worst experience I've ever had....my hair is ruined!!!! I'm so disappointed and pissed that I spent $70 on this cut. On top of it the wash was so rough I felt like my hair was being ripped out. read more

Maysaa did a great job. for many years I have been afraid to change my black hair to blonde, but my experience with Maysa completely changed my look by making a beautiful high-light without any damage to my hair. She is professional and loves her work and gives enough time to take care of my hair from cutting and blow-drying. I am very satisfied.highly recommend she's great for colour and cut read more

Update: still 3 stars. At my "HELP ME FIX THIS WEIRD TRIANGLE ON MY HEAD" appointment with the actual David, owner of the chain, my hair was fixed, and I was able to walk around in public again. David is MAGICAL -- he didn't even have to chop half my hair off as I feared to fix the disaster triangle that Daniel made of my hair. He was friendly, and after 15 minutes, I had the haircut I had wanted the first time. However, the hair washing was still a DISASTER. This woman actually left me with shampoo in my ear, and got so much water in my ears I had to jump up and down to get it out. I'm going to give this location one more shot with a new stylist, but dear god do I hope they read yelp reviews fix some of the issues at this location. read more

Didn't even make it to the salon, the receptionist was SO extremely rude when I was calling with a few questions about services. Maybe they had a bad day, but now we both are. Made my decision very easy to go somewhere else :) read more

Naz is wonderful at the Jon David salon at Lee Heights. I've been going to her for more than three years for cut and highlights. She's always so attentive to what I'd like to do, and her cut & color are beautifully done. I get many compliments on my hair thanks to Naz. read more

Dalia is really amazing and works with you and does really good with making your hair blonde!

I had a terrible experience at this salon, which was made worse by the management attitude and lack of care. I went to have highlights put in and the solution under the foils burned my scalp. I was told by the "stylist" that I couldn't handle it; that it was my fault for not being tough enough. After I demanded that they rinse the burning solution out of my hair and declined a haircut, I was made to pay for the treatment. I attempted to contact the manager and get my money back or at least get a fix and a haircut, and was put at the same station. Two thumbs down- and I recommend that their licenses be examined. read more

You have other options in the Arlington, VA area and please explore them. I have been receiving highlights for decades, so I am familiar with the process. I had gone to Jon David before (several years ago) and thought I would give them another try. I went in for a routine partial highlight and was very disappointed. During the highlighting process I did not think the stylist was getting close enough to my scalp, so I ask her about it and she said not to worry. Unfortunately I trusted the response. You can see from the pictures the end result. While I was getting my hair washed, there was no care taken to minimize the water on my face or clothes. I had water all over my face and on the front part of my pants. Those washing my hair never engaged me and only each other by laughing and chatting. When I got home and reflected on my experience and outcome, I sent a detailed email (with pictures) to the salon (which took me quite a bit of digging to find an email address). I did not hear any response, so I followed up with a call. The receptionist/manager was crut and not apologetic. I scheduled another appoint several days out as there was no additional appointments available. Unfortunately I had an emergency work trip and had to reschedule. When I called to reschedule I was told that my appoint would be outside of their 'two week guarantee'. Given my continued negative experience I will be eating this cost and will take my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. read more

Requested a professional experienced with thick hair and not to create too many layers for wearing it up... received the choppiest haircut, much shorter than desired. Very disappointed. read more

I am a loyal client of Darima, who moved from the Jon David in Rosalyn to this location, so I naturally followed her here! Her haircuts are truly flawless. When I first moved to the DMV for graduate school, I was worried about finding a stylist who can cut Asian hair. Luckily I found Darima. She has been cutting both my and my boyfriend's hairs for over a year now. I highly recommend her! read more

This was the worst haircut I've ever received. Despite having a 10 minute conversation with the stylist prior to my haircut about how I wanted it cut (and to which she agreed), she proceeded to cut my hair how she wanted - and cut about 5 inches off of my hair, even though I told her I wanted to keep it on the longer side. She also gave me the most choppy, uneven layers I've ever seen and did so without telling me beforehand. I left with a short, shaggy haircut when I only wanted my previously long hair to be trimmed. It's especially disappointing because of the cost of getting a haircut here. The only reason I gave two stars is because I've had great experiences at the location on Wilson, and I deeply regret not going there this time. read more

Very nice salon. Follows Covid-19 guidelines very well. You can choose between master or junior stylist which gives a good amount of flexibility. Habiba G was an amazing stylist definitely recommend her! read more

I really hate to post this but you must be warned- one thing is for sure- bring an extra set of clothes, ear plugs and tylenol. The woman who washed my hair literally pulled my hair with her gloves, washed my neck oddly front to back, ran water into both ears & all over the place.. I left the station with my blouse literally soaked completely to my bra. It was the shortest wash I have ever received, no conditioner applied and the most sloppy and rough. It was stressful. Gosh, you'd think a salon like this would do better training for their staff. read more

I got a great haircut from Remi at the Jon David Salon this afternoon. Couldn't be more pleased. Thanks!

I have been here three or four times, and seen three different people. Each person has cut my hair and colored it. The cuts have never really been an issue... however, I usually just get it cut at all one length. When it comes to color, none of them have nailed it, or even come close. I have asked for a balayage, and shown them pictures of what I wanted. But instead of being honest about the time it would take, or how involved it would be, or whether they even know how to do it, they just go for it. And it never comes out close to what was discussed, or what I want. I saw the third person today. After almost 3 hours, ~$250, and not anything close to what I wanted with the color, I decided to write a review. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this salon. read more

Unmatched quality and service! I've been going to Jon David since I moved to the area years ago! Every single employee is super nice, professional, and highly trained! Salon is meticulously clean and modern. And I absolutely love David doing my hair! He's amazing, and I've never seen such attention to detail and precise work from anyone else. I fully trust him with my blonde highlights and haircuts. I never know what I want or how to tell him what I want, but fortunately I can tell him to do whatever he thinks will look good on me, and he NEVER disappoints. I have traveled to three of David's salons in the area to have him do my hair. So worth it!! read more

I got my hair done by Maysaa H, an expert stylist, and she was wonderful. When consulting on my hair, she was very welcoming and understanding of my concerns and wishes. We decided on partial baby lights, to fix my grown-out balayage. She listened to everything I asked for, and gave me the perfect light brown blended babylights. Conversation was great, and it was a pleasure to get to know her. I'll definitely be back again, thanks for the great work Maysaa! read more

I had a hair cut and my master was Darima. She is very nice and did a great job with my hair. I would gladly recommend her to a friend.

I had been told by multiple people at your salon that Ellie (sp) was the 'BEST' when it came to eyebrows

Habiba at this salon is absolutely amazing! She did the best job on my hair that anyone has ever done (highlights, color and cut). She is the best, and I give her my highest recommendation! read more

I've been to this location (N. Arlington) twice now and just booked my 3rd appointment for highlights and a cut. I've been doing my hair at Jon David salon for almost 3 years at the Rosalyn location with Darima. They just opened a new location off of Lee Highway and I followed Darima to the new location which is actually closer to my house. I have very dark hair and love getting highlights and Darima always does a great job ensuring my highlights look the best! read more

Today was my first time at this Jon David location (I typically frequent the Rosslyn location), and it was great! To begin, parking is free which is a nice change from attempting to find a paid, parallel parking spot in Rosslyn. The space is beautiful and there's lots of light. I had my hair cut by Ellie and she did a great job! She asked what I wanted, and gave good tips and advice. She was very meticulous and paid close attention to her work. Our conversation flowed easily, too. The price is comparable to their other locations, and there is an ATM for tips if you (like me and many other Millennials) don't carry cash. The only reason why I knocked a star was how I was greeted. I parked in the back lot and came through the "back" door. There's an awning and the door is open, and so as like the other businesses in the plaza I assumed there was front and back entry. There was no "please use other door" sign so I walked in. The desk was on the other end of the building, fine. But as I walked through one of the employees curtly told me to keep proceeding in that direction. I was definitely more embarrassed than anything...if they don't want people coming in that way, some signage would be useful. read more

I tried this salon about 6 months ago and did not have the best experience. I gave it another try and took my mom to try a different hair stylist. This is how we found Nikki!! My mom's haircut was so good that I made an appointment for myself the next day. We have been back at least twice and have been very satisfied. Nikki is kind and pacient with my mom, and a great professional who was able to fix the previous bad haIr cut I had. read more

I rarely leave reviews for places. And I was a little hesistant to get just a haircut here based on the reviews. But I have never been so pleased with a haircut in my life! I honestly can't remember who did my hair. It was either a David or Daniel. But I got a last minute apPt with him for a Saturday morning. I got my hair washed, cut, and blow dryed all in an hour. AND got the exact haircut I wanted, which is rare to come by (I never want layers in the front or have it angled, most stylists ignore this). It's been 2 weeks and my haircut still looks perfect. I was surprised at how low the price was too ($61 for a wash, cut and blow dry)...I was expecting to pay atleast $80. I don't know if I will ever get my hair cut anywhere else again. I'm beyond pleased! read more

Habiba is an AMAZING stylist. Went from dark brown back to my natural blonde in a few hours. She's very independent, you can tell she knows what she's doing. Salon is a 10/10 but If you want an 11/10 ask for habiba! Definitely going back to her for all my hair needs. Wicked happy :) read more

After posting my previous review, someone from the salon reach out to address my concerns and I was asked back in to meet with David. In hindsight, I wish I would have just reached out to David sooner, versus resorting to a review out of frustration. When I arrived, I walked David through my concerns and was able to show him one of the pictures that I had shown the original stylist. He made sure he understood, provided some perspective, and completely brought my hair back to what I had originally hoped for. David and his team made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. He even covered a hair cut which was going the extra, extra mile. I have to say I do love the atmosphere of the Fairfax location and will likely make that drive again. read more

A shoutout to Niki who did a great job on my hair. She is new at this salon and it was serendipitous that we met. She took the time to listen to my hair "issues", what I wanted, and didn't want and made suggestions that were really helpful. She managed to give my sometimes difficult hair a stylish look that wasn't too over the top. Recommended. read more
