Consigner BEWARE!!! Where to begin: I met the owner, Jolie KAMINSKI while vacationing from La Jolla, California. My fiancé and I were visiting my Grandson and his wife. I liked quite a few of the handbags, clothing and shoes that Jolie had in her boutique. I enjoy finding luxury items and have a fairly nice (in my opinion, anyhow) collection of designer handbags and clothing etc. My fiancé struck up a conversation separately with the owner as I was browsing and my grandsons wife tried on a few dresses that I was giving her my opinion on... I myself only purchased a vintage bucket hat, although there were several gowns and dresses I liked. The problem was not with "liking " items in the store. The problem (that became a complete NIGHTMARE) was after I agreed to send 24 pieces of my personal collection to Jolie for consignment!!! I sent Jolie TWO Chanel bags , along with Carolina Herrera, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Zimmerman, YSL, Christian Louboutins, ASL, Thierry Mugler, Oscar De La Renta, Valentino...- this all took place just a little over a month ago, November 2023. I visited the store on October 20th, something I deeply regret. So many things went wrong from the moment the owner, Jolie, received my items (which retailed at easily $40,000 plus dollars). All of my belongings were in excellent condition and extremely desirable. I am still so exhausted from what transpired over the following month, I have difficulty writing this review but truly feel obligated to do so to help educate potential consignors the huge risks they may be taking in trusting their personal items with this business. I feel I would be remiss NOT to warn sellers- especially if they are out of town or in my case, out of State! The owner took over TWO WEEKS to send me an itemized inventory list after receiving the large box of my designer handbags, clothing and shoes. She also lied to me telling me that there were things "missing", even suggesting that the box arrived ripped and damaged-accusing me at a later time of not sending my items in a strong enough box, that was not taped properly!- Only AFTER I sent her a picture that SHE had sent me herself and low and behold- there are the "missing " designer shoes, did she concede that yes, they were there! No apology, no whoops, just okay. I had SO MANY "red flags " right away and on top of which, she NEVER called me, she took over 2 weeks to correspond and then she started sending me aggressive texts and emails! She went so far as to call me names and otherwise attack my character! I asked for her to "pull my belongings " from her store inventory- ( she had NOT SOLD ONE ITEM) and she basically sent me a series of unprofessional messages and refused to take my belongings off of her floor. I have screenshots of her STILL TRYING TO SELL MY ITEMS on her Facebook store! This took place two entire weeks after she sent me an email-dated November 17,2023 stating that she "personally " would go into her store "next week "- this happened on a Friday to pull my inventory. SHE DID NOT. It took for me to pay her $25 per item , totaling $600, calling the Mt. Pleasant Police Department 5 times, filling a Police Report, and then having a Police Officer at her boutique to preserve the peace while my Grandson and his wife took their Saturday off to drive 35 minutes one way to retrieve my belongings! Needless to say, all of this caused me GREAT stress, anxiety and mental anguish. Not to mention, coming OUT OF POCKET $1000 dollars and ZERO Sales by Jolie or her Employees. Lastly, my Grandson who is a Military Police Officer, and his wife were called "idiots" and treated very disrespectfully, when all they were there to do was protect their grandmother. I will end this review by stating that I am not a mean or vindictive person. I truly don't trust this business AT ALL. I don't doubt if you're a BUYER, no problem. But consignors?! Beware!!! I feel I was completely taken advantage of simply because I was out of State! This treatment was shocking and shameful, especially after I entrusted this person. Never again! This is a 20 minute drive from Charleston but you must do it. High end consignment with plenty of affordable midrange finds to be found. Lovely owner who is clearly a fashion maven and loves to get you the perfect find. The only thing you need to worry about is those online gals snapping up the goods every day. When we visited we saw a whole mail bin go out stuffed to the brim with pretty packages. Thankfully we were still able to make some major finds including a lovely dior belt and Paris Hiltons iconic sunglasses( not actually worn by her but you know the ones). Wow! Where to begin? First, I rarely if ever leave reviews, but in this instance I feel I compelled to do so. I was born & raised in NYC (please don't hold that against me )--which means my standards are really high. I had a closet full of high end/couture purses I wanted to sell & had no idea where to bring them (keep in mind, I am not knew to consignment shops... just the area). A friend referred me to Jolie & let me tell you, from the very moment I met her, I recognized that I was dealing with a consummate professional who would not only sell my bags--she would treat them with kit gloves & the upmost of care. Months later, I'm here to report that she has not disappointed! Putting her shop aside for a moment (which is not easy to do, considering she did a magnificent job--I mean seriously, when I first walked in, I felt like I was back in NYC at Barney's), Jolie is a very special human being (& no, I had no idea who she was. Meaning, she was not a friend... though I'm hoping she'll become one!). She genuinely wants her clients (both sellers & customers) to walk away happy. In fact, I get the sense that's more important to her than the money. Sure, she wants her business to thrive, but unlike most consignment shops, Jolie recognizes that in today's world, it's all about customer satisfaction--and in that regard, you're dealing with a true artist. I am now both a seller & buyer. Her taste is so impeccable, I can't seem to leave her shop w out purchasing at least one item. Consignment shops are the way of the future (it's all about repurposing) & the hottest new trend--but not all are created equal. Whether you're buying, selling or interested in both... pop into Jolie Luxury Consignment... rest assured, it will be your final destination! First and Foremost, if you have not shopped at this boutique then you are missing out! Jolie and her team are absolutely amazing! (I love Jill) The customer service that you get when you walk into this boutique is nothing short of perfection! The first time I shopped at Jolie's, I immediately fell in love with this gorgeous Gucci duffel bag. I left without it but woke up the next morning (Sunday) and was kicking myself for not buying it. It was in great condition and Jolie even dropped the price a little for me. I emailed Jolie to see if the bag was still available and she called me within five minutes and said she and her husband had a wedding to attend but would happy to meet me at the store in ten minutes if I was available. So, when I tell you Jolie and her team go above and beyond, I really mean above and beyond. Another thing that I love about this boutique is the consigning process! Jolie's creates an online account for all their clients that consign so the client always has access to see any and all activity that involves their items. It shows an inventory of every item that you have in the boutique and it even has a breakdown of it has sold and if It has at what price as well as If you have requested to not have any of your items discounted. Wow!!! I have visited multiple times and always walk away with an amazing find. First a Chanel purse, then Tiffany sunglasses that were brand new but not at the brand new price point. I've found some really great dresses too. Always receiving compliments. The owner is a doll and the customer service is stellar. If you have the chance, stop in and shop!
