I personally always hate making small talk when I go to the hair salon, but I don't feel awkward about it at Tease. All of the other stylists seem personable as well! I would definitely recommend Tease for anyone looking got a new salon on the West Side. It has a great atmosphere and very talented stylists!

I'm still incredibly happy with my cut however I'm incredibly unhappy about my coloring. 4 days after leaving I washed my hair and my hair turned VERY yellow/gold--exactly what I said I didn't want. I messaged her on a Monday--she responded the next day and apologized and told me "sometimes with the lightning it ends up being a bit yellow" (that's never happened to me). Requested I give it a few more washes and another week and she would then tone it. (Toning would darken--not lighten). She said she looked over my photos and said when I left the salon she thought she did what I wanted--she did however it washed out. I messaged her to let her know that I went some place else. Where I was informed that she did not leave it on my hair long enough and it was not blended well at all. I had paid $360 (with tip, to Mallory). She not only didn't offer to refund ANY of my money, she also didn't even apologize that I had went someplace else. I would never go back to her based on the lack of response and refund. Terrible.

This is not one of those reviews that has an extreme biased because I secretly work at the salon or one of them is a good friend of mine. I found this salon by looking online at cleveland's top hair salons and this was ranked in the top 5. Now, historically I have not had the smoothest rides when it comes to hair salons. Usually, I wait an hour after my appointed time before they even start on my hair and I feel like just another number that is paying someone's rent. Usually they don't EVER do my hair they way I ask and I end up in a frenzy with the stylist and end up looking like mustard and ketchup. But this time was magically different! Manesha, my new hair stylist (I'm proud to say) took such good care of me. Being a natural hair person, I am picky when it comes to who handles my hair. Not everyone knows what they're doing when it comes to my natural curls! I got my hair colored as well as a half highlight and it turned out absolutely fabulous! She catered to what I HAD IN MIND and she even offered me a complimentary beverage and snack. She gave me a head message after she shampooed me/during the hair process and she LISTENED to what I had to say. I felt truly appreciated as a customer when I was there and I GREATLY recommend anyone to go in and enjoy the same treatment! They are also priced very reasonably and you truly get what you pay for!

Her parents couldn't make it because they…read morelive overseas and the COVID travel restrictions made logistics too complicated, so I was the only family there. My cousin wanted to get her hair done for Prom, and found this place on her own through internet searches. She made a reservation based on good reviews she read. We got there a bit early and they got her in right away. She showed her stylist a photo of the kind of hairstyle she wanted, which was braids in the front connecting to a bun in the back (I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it's a fairly simple style). The stylist started doing something, then undid it because it didn't look right, then tried something else again, and was clearly struggling a bit with my cousin's Asian hair (very straight and sleek). I don't blame her for this, since our hair texture can be tricky to work with if you don't have a lot of experience with it. After about half an hour of this she asked a senior stylist for help, which I thought was very appropriate. But then the senior stylist said to my cousin, "You need to make up your mind about what you want to do, because we can't be trying a million different styles. We're wasting a lot of time." I had been watching the whole time from the waiting area, and her attitude and tone of voice with my cousin made me really angry because she was trying to blame the problem on my 17yo cousin. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make the situation worse by making them mad, thereby risking them messing up my cousin's hair. The senior stylist did end up making it work out and the final hairstyle looked good (hence the 4 stars), but her attitude the whole time trying to make my cousin feel like she had done something wrong left a bitter taste in both our mouths.

Dani cut my hair and she was super sweet but in the middle of my cut someone else had come in and she called out that she would get to them when she was dine with my hair, but it must have been at that point they started to rush the progress on my cut and was getting sort of careless. I got layers and the longer I look the more apparent it is that they are just blunt cut straight across. I'm not exaggerating it looks like I got hime bangs but all around my head lol. I think this stylist is very talented and has done some great work before but I'm not a regular of hers and the other people who came in were obviously a personal prior so I don't think my hair was really taken as seriously especially since I had prepaid. I did try to communicate gently that I was unsatisfied with my hair but she wasn't really open to exploring options to help me be happy with it, they just told me my hair was unhealthy and there wasn't a lot we could do. I also don like to argue with people about their professions because it feels unfair to tell them how to do what they are trained for, but at the end of the day I really don't like my hair and it's affected my self esteem pretty heavily. If you choose to go here I hope you have a better experience than I did.

I was extremely skeptical about coming in during COVID. However, a clever friend tipped me off that they are less busy during two times: early mornings and around rush hour. I've been here a handful of times, and I swear, all the women that work here are lovely, skilled and talented. I felt as safe as I possibly could have during this weird time in our world. Stella & Shay will forever be a class act to me, made even better by their easy and convenient online scheduling. The atmosphere is very chill. The lobby and waiting area is a bar where a sports game is typically playing. They serve complementary beer here if you're early. There are several smaller private rooms branching off of the bar where the stylists work. Lucy, the stylist who I visited, did a phenomenal job. I told her a celebrity who's hair I liked and a few photos of how I wanted it to look. She seemed enthusiastic about the change and knew exactly what to do. The past few stylists at other barbers and salons I've visited couldn't pull off a fade or a unique short hairstyle, but Lucy did not disappoint. Regal Beagle does seem to be getting popular and their stylists are in high demand. I booked an appointment over the phone. The receptionist was able to squeeze me in to a spot before thanksgiving which I couldn't find online. This doesn't seem like a place you could just walk in to and hope to be seen. This was the first time I've ever liked my haircut without having to "get used to it" for a few weeks (even though I usually go to salons)! Most places either cut my hair way in a way that's way too feminine or way too masculine, but I was able to explain what gender expression I was going for and go from there!! But the best part for me was how safe, calm, and welcoming the whole experience made me feel. Jen was super sweet and asked me for my pronouns (you can also select "nonbinary" as your gender when signing up!! Which is so validating!!) and the prices aren't based on gender, just on the services you pick!! Jen also made me tea and gave me an arm/hand massage!! I normally don't feel comfortable with people touching me even if I know them, but I felt comfortable enough to say yes to that!! I didn't even know that LGBTQ+ inclusive salons existed and I'm so so happy to have found a place that's so comfortable and affirming!! This salon is great for everyone, but I will definitely be recommending them to my other trans and nonbinary friends!!! Thank you all so much!!!
