Fun decor in Jojo's bathroom!
Stephanie K.

Love coming back to this amazing oasis of food, live music, and eclectic decor. When visiting with friends for a day drip from Phoenix, we stopped at Jojo's for a bite to eat. I shared the nachos with a friend and got a few tacos plus a margarita. Delicious! My friends are both gluten free and vegan, and this spot caters to exactly such. My friend's meal was slightly delayed coming out. However, the lovely waitress made everything right by not charging her for the dish. My friend was so grateful. They are beyond friendly and welcoming here, and that is a testament to such. You could easily spend hours here after eating, exploring the decor and little shops surrounding the restaurant. All the greenery is stunning! Such an alternative, hippy dippy spot. Really love visiting time and time again.

Was excited to check out Jojo's after seeing it online. We were not disappointed. Love that there is a beautiful oasis in the city. We were met but a friendly hostess and she provided us with how things work because we couldn't figure it out lol. We went to the counter ordered and they provided a buzzer. We were there for brunch and we ordered a breakfast burrito and the chicken salad. Both were delicious. Definitely check this place out if you are exploring in the area.

Walking distance from the Tucson Museum of Art. It's a nice place to stop for a meal. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered the Chicken salad and it was delicious. It has big chunks of roasted chicken, dill and the dressing tasted like it was made with pickle juice. It came with a side of focaccia bread and salad. Service was friendly. We sat near the koi pond and it was cool under the trees.

Such a cool place, with a laid back but fun atmosphere. You absolutely feel like you're enjoying a meal and hopefully some live music in someone's beautiful backyard. Jojo has created a wonderful sense of community with live music, ambience, her staff, and the local stores/artists surrounding the courtyard. Tacos and drinks were delicious. Dont forget to order dessert in the upper bar! Basque cheesecake and chocolate scones were some of the best I've had! Don't forget to day hi to the koi and turtles! ....Jojos cat owns the place, she likes to observe from afar and may offer a boop, but no pets!

My second time going to JoJo's Restaurant. I live the vibe here. Jojo complem us a Crispy Brussel Sprouts appetizer. I strongly recommend them.

Such a lovely experience! Walked in and we were greeted by the owner, Jo, who made sure we got a seat and high chair then explained to order at the bar. Margaritas and food were stellar. After we had our entrees we decided we couldn't leave without trying the nachos and were glad we did. Gorgeous outdoor seating with live music. If we lived here we'd be back often. Stopped in for a drink after Tucson Meet Yourself. Great service! Was quiet and intimate at the time. Definitely worth stopping in!

This is a great spot for a large group and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. I love the courtyard feel and live music. It's counter service and the food comes out quick. You get a buzzer when you order and pick it up at the window. I had the birria tacos and didn't love them, too salty and the meat was tough (removing a star for the food). I look forward to trying other items, even though it is a small menu. What stood out here was that the owner Jo and her son Eli were walking around the restaurant the entire time checking in with all of the guests. They both thanked our group multiple times for coming. I highly recommend this place.

Overall, I really enjoy eating here. The last time I came here they have a new system where you get a beeper when you order your food. The beeper goes off when your food is ready. I ordered my food well before all of my friends. My friends had already finished their food and I never got my food. I had to hunt somebody down to figure out what was going on. Eventually, I was able to get some food and it was delicious but the pager either didn't work or something happened with my order. The staff was very apologetic that I never got my food.

We yelp for dinner and accidentally found this place, order food at bar and pick up at back yard. Order carnitas taco comes 6 pieces, they were delicious, tamarind bbq chicken wing and burger. They also have live music, nice dining experience, recommended for visitors.

What a unique hidden gem. Not being from Tucson, needed GPS to find it. At first approach I thought it was an on a blocked street order & pick up restaurant. But that was a pasta place. In the middle of which was an alleyway that led to Jo Jo's outdoor restaurant surrounded by half a dozen boutique shops. On top of that, the food was great. Ordered the Bacon Jam Cheddar burger with sautéed onions. Huge burger (enough to share) came out medium, as requested Limited menus, but something for everyone. Also opened to a Cantina which was where the beer came from Prices are reasonable and I think they may have live music at times. Anyway, if I lived here I'd be a regular

Cauliflower wings and spicy pineapple marg

The location is really nice and it's definitely a great stop after going to the museum. However, it seemed a little pricey for not very well cooked cauliflower "wings." The drinks are also slightly costly but actually good especially the spicy pineapple margaritas. The bartender that was there and service was actually great but this is one of those places where they don't really have servers, you put all orders in and get it at the pick up window. So overall, the ambiance was nice but definitely will have to retry in terms of food and service as it wasn't the best the first few times.

Food: I have to be honest -- I came here for the Corn Cakes -- and I was not disappointed!! Cornbread and maize lovers will fall in love with the corn cake pancakes -- they're a pancake made with cornmeal and they even have little corn kernels in the patties!! I'm still dreaming of them a day later... My friend and I also got the Huevos Rancheros con mushroom chorizo and potatoes. This meal was a nice balance of carb and protein, with some salsa-y goodness to dress it up. Loved the smoky flavor the mushroom chorizo and the mushroom helped balance out what I feel is usually the saltiness of chorizo! Service: when we arrived, there was about a 20min wait to be seated. My friend and I explored the shops within the Jojo's compound while we waited. Service during the meal was fantastic -- our server chatted with us and made sure we were well taken care of. She also was great about refilling my coffee and our waters. We didn't feel rushed to leave at all, despite how busy things can get at this popular establishment! Ambiance: What I had no idea about Jojo's is that there is an entire craft shop that encircles the restaurant perimeter (the restaurant sits in the middle of this encirclement). The shops are filled with locally made artworks and crafts; Jojo's showed me a mix of indigenous, Mexican, and Southwest USA culture that enabled me to understand the charm of Tucson/Arizona more broadly!! Ugh. Loved it; walked away with some cool AZ swag! There was also a great live music show -- I think the artist name was Clay -- he composed some throwback remixed tunes that further enhanced our Jojo's experience.

Ask the Community - JoJo's

Is the outdoor seating hot this time of year?

There is and it is mostly shaded, but she usually closes for the summer around July through September.

Is there any option for indoor dining for dinner?

There is a building on premise housing a bar and I recall getting some food there with my libations. Best to call them for further guidance.

We were greeted by a giant statue of a unicorn zebra and of course took a selfie. We then went to the bar area and absolutely loved the dark speakeasy vibes. Burk, the handsome man with a shiny head, was at the bar. He handed us a drink menu that contained fun drink names like Death of a Unicorn. The drinks tasted good and had a lovely presentation. Mine even came in a zebra mug. We also learned that this bar has both an upstairs and downstairs area. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and headed home. This place left such an impression that we have been back two times since. On another occasion we had Nate the bartender. He had a lovely personality and accommodated all of the guests that came in near closing. We enjoyed Santa's Banana Hammock and Unicorn Ski Accident. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. I look forward to seeing where this place goes. It has a ton of potential for special events with the basement area. P.s. It's also a boutique hotel. Same charms, different bartender, and new summer (May) craft cocktails that have become quite substantial (see pic of double-sided menu). Though we arrived at 4:10 (right after their usual 4p opening) on a Saturday, no happy hour, but we were first patrons and grabbed the big bay window. We are both on a mezcal discovery kick and ordered the Black Cathedral ($16) and the Girl Dinner ($16). Each was as described (pic) and delicious. We had dinner plans and needed to leave at 5:15 - just as things were picking up. We'll definitely be back sooner.

Love, love, LOVE this space on 4th Ave in Downtown Tucson!!…read more I was recently in town visiting family and noticed it while having a weekend night out for some drinks on Fourth Avenue - I'm not sure how new it is but I hasn't seen it before and thought it looked pretty cool! Its Boxyard name comes from the various shipping containers that make up most of the buildings inside. It reminded me of Container Park in Las Vegas and similar places in Downtown Austin. I'm very excited that Tucson has a place like this now too!! We were there on a Saturday night, so it was very crowded with a DJ playing in the back, yet it was still open and spacious enough to have plenty of breathing room. I also loved how there's more than one bar for grabbing drinks at and a few food options - we got a couple of smash burgers from Daddyburger inside and they were GREAT!! Took a little while to be ready but it was a busy Saturday night, so understandable. Definitely make sure to add the arugula and pickles to it - loved the extra textures and crunch. The burger hit the spot and the fries were solid McDonald's type fries. Other food options inside included a Mexican food/burrito spot with several vegan options and also a sandwiches/snacks thing! We ended up just eating, drinking, and dancing to the music the whole night there. It was a blast!! It also looked like a great spot for just hanging out or getting some food whenever during the day or the week. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
