Background: I'm from Worcester, went to school in Waltham (Bran to the Deis!), and I happen to know…read morethe director and her husband, who was an actor in the show. We also went out for drinks after, so there. Anywho, went here to see Stopkiss. I'll get to the review on the show in a bit. First, the theater. If you go to the Waltham Public Library, walk over to Spring St., look down the road and where your blindspot is, that's the theater. It is a hidden gem that takes a bit to find, but worth the look. At the entranceway, you'll find you typical, small theater atrium before you descend stairs into their lair. The theater itself is a small space, but very, very well used. And this production was no exception to that. Stopkiss has everything going for it, from the direction, to the acting, to the choice of lights and music (I gave my friend crap for one song, but it was only because it gave me visions of a Spanish Soap Opera at a crucial time in the show, not ruining, but adding a bit of levity to an otherwise melancholy moment). The cast is fantastic, with strong moments of acting coming from everyone, and I mean everyone, in the cast. The two lead actresses Jennifer McCartney and Gabrielle Hatcher steal the show, from what, I'm not sure, and are very well supported by Michael Soulios, Jason Rutledge, Andrew Boncoddo, Carolyn Cafarelli, and Melanie Bernier. Tatiana Rutledge has maintained her keen eye and artistry and only shown strong strides of development in her role as director of the show. The lighting design, well crafted set and, overall, highly kind stage crew make this a must see. Tatiana, much love. Z

This is a great option for seeing an IMAX film. I confess it pales a little in comparison to the…read moreReading venue but as the business manager helpfully pointed out (thank you!) it seats half as many and I think the screen is smaller. Still, it beats the other IMAX theaters because of the comfortable seating and the buttkickers (rumbling vibrations). I met a friend there to see Godzilla v. Kong -- he had never been to a Jordan's IMAX and was surprised the seats didn't recline, but that didn't bother either of us. I was surprised that it wasn't packed for the first weekend of release but maybe it was the day before Easter, maybe it isn't as popular as I thought it would be (the movie) or maybe Natick doesn't get as much play, hard to say in one visit. But it worked to our advantage! I got in line about 30 minutes before the movie was due to start and they didn't let us in much before that. You enter from the back of the theater, which makes things much easier (in Reading you enter from the front/bottom and have to race up steps to get your seat of choice if it's packed). Otherwise, the experience was just as enjoyable. I think Reading is still my go-to, but I wouldn't hesitate to go to Natick if Reading wasn't available. It's nice to have options. We are very lucky to live in the Boston area. Oh, and I know some are put off by the lack of reserved seating, but you figure it out, just get there early if you're worried about getting the seat you want. And yes, one does have to walk through the store but several delightfully friendly sales people were happy to point me in the right direction and I didn't get too far before there was signage, so not to worry. Support our local theaters!!!!

Really over-rated place. First, you'll need a road map to find the theater once you actually enter…read morethe building. Second, widescreen experiences are only as good as the room they're in. This room is too small, and the screen is too large. There are only a handful of good seats. All others are too close to the screen. You'll get a stiff neck struggling to see the full picture, and rapid movement and extreme closeups will give you a headache. The special effects sound was also much too loud. And to the Jordan's staff, it's embarrassing that you sell such luxurious furniture in your store, while your chairs in the theater are so cramped in and uncomfortable. I so looked forward to seeing a great movie there, and when Oppenheimer arrived, I knew that was it. Instead, I left very, very disappointed. See their movies at other theaters. You'll save money and peace of mind, and you'll have a better experience.

We arrived around noon w out a tasting reservation but got lucky there were spots available. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member outside and told us they had a jazz fest going. Music later and complimentary Mardi Gras necklaces etc! We went into the shop for our tasting. Gift shop and wines etc so nicely done arranged available for purchase.. We had a seat at the tasting bar and had a wonderful time choosing and tasting wine and spirits. I love how u can mix and match and try wine spirits beer and canned mixers. $16 pp including a wine glass. We added a cheese cracker plate for $8. Cheese was yummy! Loved it. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. The pours were once ounce and they did feel on the smaller side, and would have preferred a tasting w a bit more but that's just me! Highly recommend, will do the wine tour next time. We had reservations at J's Restaurant which was excellent. Afterwards we sat at a table to listen to the live jazz music. There was a QR code to order food and drinks. Will definitely give that a try next time. Beautiful location and staff always smiling.

We both love theater and met doing improv with the UMASS Amherst group Mission: IMPROVable. We were delighted to learn of a theater within walking distance to our new house and bought tickets to see the show. The production was well-paced and hilarious, and we were impressed with the welcoming atmosphere. I became involved with the theater almost immediately, appearing in the 2003 New Works Festival and working backstage for their production of "True West." My husband was also in a production that spring. We have remained involved with Acme ever since. We have both been given the opportunity to expand our skills (him: directing, me: stage managing and producing) and count our Acme "family" as among our closest friends. I can't imagine life in Maynard with Acme Theater.
