It had been a rather long while since I went up from Eastlake Drive for a look, and my reaction this time, was much the same as times before -- wow!! such a fantastic setting for a school!! I walked up from Eastlake Drive via the pedestrian walk / vehicle exit at Beaverbrook Drive, along the front, and ends of the school, and then walked back down to Eastlake Drive via the pedestrian walk / vehicle entrance at Centaurus Drive. I did not get a look at the back side of the school. The area out front -- between Eastlake Drive and the school itself -- is well-forested, making it very difficult to actually seeing the school from the street below, and especially so at this time, with all the trees and other vegetation, fully-leaved, and green. Such a lovely, natural setting!! The walkabout at 'Burnaby Mountain Secondary' was a much-enjoyed, diversion included in my walk this morning.

Using microphone, they warn the kids directly. If the kid doesn't listen, they will point out what he/she is wearing, what eating, what in their hand. I guess it's embarrassing for the kids, but following rule is more important. : very tidy and clean. The clerks walk around often and check the garbage bin following recycling rule. Much elder people are also working and they are very friendly. : Adult can have fun. The rechargeable play game is very convenient, and tickets (how much you won) added into the card digitally. No expiring. You can use the card for next time. Negative part : maybe 95 % of guests take off shoes at entrance. Some adult still wear them. Maybe because they won't play. The problem is going to public bathroom only with socks. When you think about hygiene, it was disgusting. I wished I had shoes. : I hope they have variety of prizes.

Ball Pits, climbing, jumping, scooter area, arcade games are great for that super excited little boy. Me and my husband have a coffee date. They have a limited menu but the prices are super affordable. I have also carried my own food for the kid before. This place is always full of birthday parties but it has never been disruptive to other non party members. Cost on weekends is almost 11$ but you can stay from starting time to closing time if u want. The max we have stayed there is 4 hours coz the little ones get exhausted from all the playing!! Both my children currently attend Berwick. Before deciding that Berwick was the school for my…read morechildren, I had an orientation with the head teacher Diane. During orientation, I was able to observe different classrooms ( each class has an 'observation room' which has a two way mirror that allow parents to see the kids and teacher interact but teachers and kids can't), I was able to ask questions, meet some of the teachers and talk with parents who have kids in the school too. Berwick definitely is NOT a money driven place at all. Their fees are quite low in comparison to what you get at other schools. Class starts at 9am and ends at 2pm (that's FIVE hours!). The school provides a healthy snack( nachos, mac & cheese, soup, cream cheese and jam to name a few ) and milk. Kids are asked to bring in a fruit/ vegetable to donate that can be shared with the class at snack time. On different days of the week each class as different activities. There is baking, music, gym time in addition to outside play time. How many preschools do you know have baking?? I agree with RC 110%. Berwick teachers and the admin staff are FABULOUS. They truly love and enjoy what they do and it shows! Berwick is a PLAY BASED school so the kids will do a lot of playing and exploring. Every kid will have at least ONE hour of outside playtime rain or shine. If you are a tiger parent and want your kids to enter high school at age 10 (or younger) and focus only on academics, don't send them here. Kids ages 2-5 should enjoy being a kid. play out side in the sun (teachers will always make sure kids have sunblock on as well as a hat before heading out), make a mess, splash in rain puddles etc, Berwick teachers let the kids be kids in a safe and loving environment. After all, kids only have a short period of time to just be a kid before it's all academics and studying. Berwick IS the BEST preschool! But don't take my word for it. Give the school a call and arrange for a tour. Take a look, ask questions and see for yourself. Any kid who is able to attend this school is very lucky. I just wished ALL schools, and not just preschools, have teachers as caring and devoted as the ones at Berwick.
