The repair was done by brushing paint over the site and applying a substance of some type at cost of $1600 - entirely out of pocket. I have two additional vehicles for repair, one covered by Insurance for "accident" damage = about $1900; final vehicle, a low-mileage 2001 Chev Silverado 1500: proposal = $4500! Scope = MINOR two body repair spots, ceramic wax and replace rear bumper ($900 of cost). ED ALLISON clearly sending me a message: "I don't want your business." Very disappointed with this after many years of good relations. NO WORRY, I will not return.

It's also nice that you can leave the rental car there with Wayside after you pick your finished car up. Our car has had front end and side work done you can't even tell anything has happened. The paint finish looks good and the parts match the car. When we call to get updates they give them to us with no problem. Sometimes the info is a little delayed but our car still gets done in a timely matter. We love that the insurance works with wayside and we paid our low deductible. The only small "complaint" we would be that they mentioned they would detail the car and it kind of looked a quick wash but there was dust still in the car from sanding and some residue leftover on the outside windshield and front end. Other than that we'd definitely recommend this shop if you get into an accident or need any body work/paint done.

Took my car here for a check engine light after pep boys told me a solenoid needed to be replaced and they couldnt do it. The owner Chris re-diagnosed the the problem and agreed a solenoid needed to be replaced. He charged me almost $800 dollars and when I picked the car up the check engine light was still on and I now had a completely flat tire. Chris tried to tell me the tire was probably already leaking before I dropped it off despite me having driven hundreds of miles with no issues over the last several weeks. We then discovered there was a nail now in the tire that one of his employees had driven over in their parking lot. They patched the tire and told me they would fix the problem. Chris calls me 2 days later saying now he thinks its just the wiring but it will cost another $600 dollars to fix. He stated its not his fault he didnt fix the problem correctly the first time since "I told him to fix the solenoid" even though he called me and said he diagnosed that as the problem as well. He finally fixed a wiring issue after a week of working on the car and charged an additional $600 because he could figure out the problem the first time. The professional thing to do would have been to correctly diagnose and fix the problem the first time like a competent mechanic instead of becoming defensive and blaming the customer and the charging them twice for your own incompetence. If I could give 0 stars I would TLDR: I asked this guy to fix a check engine light. He couldnt figure out the problem, blamed me, popped one of my tires and charged me twice. I will never go back. Please do not waste your money here.

He said they would run a diagnostic test, told me the cost and said he would call before proceeding with any repairs. By early afternoon they called me back to let me know exactly what the issue was (fuel injector), how much the cost would be to replace it, and that they had the part and could fix it by that afternoon. A couple of hours later I was picking up my Jeep! I paid less than what I was quoted because they didn't use all the parts they thought they would need to use. My Jeep runs beautifully! I'm very impressed with the friendly, professional and expedient service I received and will use Melvin's for my Jeep's future servicing and maintenance. I highly recommend them !

We own a few cars, ranging from boring family sedan to a goofy Smartcar. I brought my smartcar to Chris for what I hoped was a simple repair, and with great apologies he handed back my keys and did not charge me even though he was able to diagnose the issue. He knew he wouldn't be able to get the part that was needed, and therefore asked me to return with other issues. He couldn't fix it that time, but you'd better believe I brought it back the next time! He's now worked on all of my cars and a few for people I've told about his amazing work ethic.
