Fast Patch Drywall Company - Shed drywall project

    Fast Patch Drywall Company

Recently purchased a house that needed electrical updating, which left several long portions of…read moredrywall open, along with various holes. Fast Patch was the only one of several companies that quickly responded with a precise estimate after reviewing several photos of the proposed work, and were able to schedule the work promptly. The work was done by Fidel, who arrived right on time and did an outstanding job, including matching the texture of the wall perfectly. Once painted, there was no difference between the patched sections and the rest of the wall. Really excellent work.

We had a very frustrating experience with Fast Patch and would not recommend them. They gave us an…read moreestimate, which we accepted, but when they showed up, they told us the price would be more than double the original quote as they hadn't realized the extent of the work. That alone was concerning, but it got worse from there. They only did work in one room, which they stopped painting the ceiling a foot away from the wall and it is very noticeable. We were then told the complete job would be delayed, and it ended up being put off for two weeks. During that time, we had already moved all of our furniture out of the space, expecting the work to be done--so we were left living in an empty living room for no reason. On the day they were finally supposed to come back and complete the job, which I had planned to show them the poor painting finish, they didn't call to discuss, they just emailed us and said they believed the cracking might be due to a structural issue and that they were no longer comfortable doing the work. At that point, we were back to square one after weeks of inconvenience, with no solution and no accountability. The lack of follow-through, poor communication, and last-minute cancellation made this a very disappointing experience.

To Crystal, the business owner of Ace Handyman Services- if you must try to unpaint yourself out of…read morea corner, then know that I will certainly respond. EVERY TIME. Yes I "fired" (not sure why that was in quotes- that's what I did) a contractor who told me our tiny bathroom would be finished in 5 days tops. Because the other bathroom is only a powder room, we already had to shower at the cabana at our condo complex. One worker was sent who started at 9, left for a good 2 hours to go to Home Depot to buy supplies for other customer jobs (all my supplies were pre-bought) and left at 3:00 every day. My husband took a week's vacation to sit in the condo while the bathroom was being worked on and after the 5 days was over, he was not even close. We were then asked to leave our key under the mat so someone could work while we were gone. We reluctantly did this, only to find our key under the mat when we got home, and finding that no one had showed up. That was DAY 12! And the shower mixer wasn't installed correctly, so the water barely got lukewarm. I had to call a plumber to get that fixed, and was lucky enough to call Evan from ProMax Water Heater who walked me through the repair on the phone and I fixed it myself. That guy is the absolute best!!! (Check out my review of Evan from ProMax- he's AMAZING). So YES CRYSTAL, I fired that company. Jeesh. Now, back to you. There was no leftover tile work. The guy set the baseboards and didn't grout them. I finished it myself and it wasn't hard. Now, if you needed to send a tile "expert" to grout 4 feet of baseboard then I'm not sure you understand what grouting 4 feet of baseboard entails. My bathroom needed someone to finish the drywall work. Period. I've explained that several times, so I'm surprised in all your meticulous note-taking that you are still completely confused by that. I did not need a tiling pro- I needed a really decent drywall guy, or maybe I needed the King of Drywall- I don't know, check your notes... And as for all my "really specific" timeframes, I had 10 days off for the holidays. I was told it would take all of 2 days to complete this little job (including draping plastic over the toilet and vanity, which I calculate would take 5 minutes if your guy was also a plastic-draping expert too). There would be one day in between for the mud to thoroughly dry, so 3 days total. I'm a pretty fast learner, so no, I wasn't going to leave the key under the mat again- I had 10 days off and was told the job could happen during that time. If it was such a heartache for you to schedule around the holidays because employees want to take time off, then here's what I would've said, "We'd love to take a look at your job, but we won't have anyone available until after the New Year." See how easy that is? Clients have the right to expect excellent, transparent, professional communication. I am not being difficult in my request that work done IN MY HOME is conducted during a time that works best for me. That doesn't make me high maintenance, it makes me organized.

Rule of thumb is never go with the cheapest bid and there is a reason why, it's called Artistic…read moreDrywall. I actually used these guys on two different projects. The first project was drywall repair through several rooms of a house. The guy they sent out was a "new hire" and I'm so glad they used my house to test out his skills. The guy spent more time talking then actually working and when he was supposedly done the end result was nowhere near perfection. Chris did come out and spent another day fixing the previous workers mistakes. Stupidly I picked them for another much larger project, hanging and finishing drywall in a 988 sq. ft. apartment. Once they started the project I had to call no less than 7 times to inquire where the workers were right in the middle of the job. Their excuse was either they were just so busy or "he's not there?" There again the finished project was left unsatisfactory. They didn't clean the dust off the walls before spraying PVA which left a very rough texture on what was supposed to be smooth walls, they hung drywall over one of my air vents, they sprayed over all my light bulbs and light switches because they didn't properly prep and they left several areas of pock holes for me to fix. In total I had to spend no less than two days fixing their drywall issues myself. Granted I'm not the fastest drywaller but I know what it takes to do a proper job. In my view the reason Artistic Drywall can do a project for less is they hire out all sub-contractors and they just act as the general contractor which is fine in most situations but if the general contractor never sets foot on the project then there is no accountability for what the sub-contractors are doing. Therefore their sub-contractors are taking advantage of them and in turn they turn out a poor product. I would advise to spend a little more and hire a more professional outfit for your drywall needs.

I contacted Artistic Drywall because the sheetrock is buckling at the joints. They said they would return my call but never called back. When I called them again today the receptionist acted as if they never heard from me. Then she put someone else on the phone (sounded like a manager) who claimed they had finished the drywall on my house in 2016. The house was completed and put on the market in 2017. They didn't even bother to help out or make an estimate and claimed they hadn't been paid properly by MRN homes (the original contractor) for other jobs. Pretty bad customer service and also sounds like they don't care at all about their reputation for quality of work. I will definitely not reach out to these guys in the future when I need work done.

You know how some companies are so good that you hesitate to post how great they really are because…read moreyou don't want them to get 'too busy' kind of in a selfish way? These guys are that good! I had the chance to work with Snohomish Handyman (Pete and Mark) for three different projects. Project 1-this was our "get to know you" project. I had taken our cedar sauna apart as part of a home project, and had gingerly taken the cedar bits out so that the sauna could be rebuilt. Well, Pete and Mark didn't just put our sauna back together. It was craftsmanship at its best. One would never know that it had ever been taken apart. They even assisted with a design feature improving on my suggestion(s). Project 2-so after our great success with Project 1 I asked Pete if he would help with a list of 'things' that needed doing around our house. Some of these were basic like repairing sink stoppers, installing doorknobs, etc. The biggest of Project 2 was to rebuild our garbage slide in the kitchen which required the mechanical part to be removed from the cabinetry, a new platform built to support the sliding mechanism, and then reinstalling of the mechanism on the new support piece. When Pete did the reinstall, he made several significant improvements that improve things overall. Project 3-Pete and Mark successfully replaced several pieces of fascia on our 30-year-old Lindal solid cedar home, that over the years had started to degrade at the ends. (I think many homeowners are familiar with this phenomenon.) Pete was able to successfully source the necessary high-grade cedar in a very difficult market (pricing, yikes!). They stained the cedar prior to its installation, which meant at least two days of curing. They then installed the fascia board and edging in the areas to be replaced. But they didn't stop there. Pete and Mark custom crafted copper coverage for each piece they replaced. This repair was executed with diligence and expertise, and was beyond the scope of many other crafts people I've spoken with. Note the breadth of the work they completed our residence? They executed repairs of the simple stuff with the same degree of care and attention to detail as they did all the big stuff. They have a broad range of capabilities and expertise and are friendly and easy to work with. I found their pricing model straightforward. So, what's the best part? These are honest, trustworthy, hard-working folks who really want to do a good job for you! So let's keep them busy... But remember, not too busy as we still have a bunch of projects that need completing :-)

We asked Pete for help designing and building a modern looking hogwire fence to replace an old…read morepost-on-pipe decorative fence that was installed on top of a short concrete wall. I was really hoping to avoid damaging the concrete, and Pete came up with a great solution to leave the existing pipe imbedded in the wall, remove the post only, and buy posts that had the core drilled out to put back on to the pipe. This alone saved a considerable amount of time and money in my project and more than paid for his services! Further, he took my really rough drawings and helped improve the design to make it stronger, and had all the expertise to execute the build to a high standard! In the end, I ended up with a fence that looked WAY better than I ever dreamed! I can't recommend Pete enough: he produced excellent work, was willing to teach me (and my curious kiddos!), and was one of the most professional and nicest handymen I've ever hired. I certainly won't hesitate to call him for any other projects that I have coming up.
