We truly regret using Mr Johnson for our patchwork repairs in our home. We had several settling…read moreissues on our walls that needed repair. He told us it would be difficult to match the texturing to the existing texturing. That was not a problem for us, we could work around that. However nearly all the spots he's worked on look like something my grandchild has done. It's clumpy and doesn't blend in with the wall whatsoever. He left drywall spackle or whatever he uses all over our carpet and trim. I'm not sure if he was in a hurry, or if he just resented having to do the job here. Now we're stuck with what looks like clumps of clay on our wall and no evidence of even trying to use texture. I definitely cannot recommend him to do work in your home.

He will only quote for exactly the work he is going to do, nothing more, nothing less. So tell him exactly what you are looking for. Be open to his suggestions, he knows what he is doing and he can steer you away from making choices you'll regret later. Be really clear about your vision and he will deliver. Our walls came out almost seamless. Except for a few tiny spots along the floor that we plan to cover with trim anyway, you couldn't see the joints. Unlike drywall work I've seen in the past ( I used to clean new builds) the seams blended right into the wall board. Dave was also careful to keep the mess to a minimum. We put Kraft paper down ahead of time, and he cleaned up after himself each day. I would recommend him to family and friends and plan to use him on my other projects in the future.

In addition to doing a fantastic job, what we love about the Charly's Painters team is their dependability and transparency. The only thing I suggest is for them to change their name from Charly's Painters to Charly's Construction or some other name suggestive of a broader set of skills and capabilities--because they're not only great at painting but also in stucco wall repair, building, electrical, and other construction jobs. So we had a smallish remodel project in our garage that involved adding a partition wall, finishing out drywall and painting. The construction part of it was fine in general. When we got to the drywall part, and it was "finished" we had a fairly serious flaw / defect that made the entire project unsatisfactory. Talking with Justin at Puget Services, we was very responsive and just about as upset as we were over the problem. Together, we were able to come up with a solution that did not cost them a whole lot of money to re-do, and fully met our needs and expectations. In the end, the project came out stunning. And just a word about the team. The people that work for this company are the nicest, most professional "handy-men" that I have ever dealt with. So it is great when a company does everything right every time, but when you have an issue, and they can fix it and keep everyone happy, AND get a great review and a repeat customer, that is something great.
