He responded the same day, cleaned out our tank and then set about to fix the pump. He replaced the pump in a timely manner, ensured that we had the appropriately sized pump for our system (the failed pump was not the correct size for our discharge pipe and height to the leach field), replaced all the float switches including the alarm, ensured that the entire system was working correctly, and charged a fair price. The old sump pump (10 years old) was working fine but based on the expected lifecycle I wanted to be proactive. I already have a Generac 15 KW backup power generator (natural gas powered) so we did not need to put in a battery powered backup. The install took 2-3 hours. Absolutely super 100% job. If you want something done right....do it yourself!…read more Paid Erickson Septic Service $1700 to put in a new lift station pump a little over a year ago. After the tech left, I plugged in my old pump to troubleshoot it. Turned out my pump wasn't even bad! It worked just fine! The only problem was the electrical connection in the sump hole. Fast forward to today. Circuit breaker tripped and wouldn't reset. I removed the lid and pumped the water out to find the plug was water logged and shorted out. The problem is, since it is below ground, they were supposed to put it in a waterproof box! I called Erickson to give them the chance to correct the inferior plug installation and they told me they didn't want the chance and pretty much tough luck. So, I paid $1700 for a pump I didn't need and a bad plug installation that failed. Way to go Erickson! I guess I will fix your mistake now.
