A bit late on my review since I came here for Mother's Day lunch, but nonetheless, I wanted to…read morereview because the food was delicious. I started with a mango fruity drink. It had a name written on a board outside, and I wish I could remember because I would order it again. Then I tried the Pulpo Al Pastor Taco (they had me at octopus). It came with 2 tacos and a side of maduros aka yellow fried plantains. It did catch me by surprise when the maduros came with a crema on top. I've never had it like that and to my surprise it was good. Also, the Quesadilla Fajita which comes with a side of yellow rice. Food was sooo good. It was very busy this day but service was phenomenal. There's an indoor seating area with a bar but we sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful day. Definitely will be back.

I had the tlayuda, which initially was a bit too hard to eat, but when I reheated it, it softened the tortilla and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also got the less traditional Crunchwrap with chicken, and that was superb. I picked up my food to-go, so I can't speak much to the ambiance. However, with regard to the service, they began making the food when we came to pick it up (when it should have been ready 25 min earlier). At least it was fresh? But it sucked to have to wait 20 more minutes to be ready when we had ordered it to go. Docking a star for the wait time for a pick up order, but maybe I would feel differently had I eaten there in person.

Food: 4.5 Location: 5…read moreInside/seating :5 Service: 5 Overall value: 4 My spouse and I came here for lunch as we were in the area, and it was recommended. I had the BLTA sandwich with french fries and Dijonaise on the side and my spouse had the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito with home fries. We also each got different sodas from the cooler area. The total for two lunch entrées and two canned sodas was about $40. I feel like this is pretty high relatively speaking for a sandwich and fries, and a breakfast burrito and home fries + two canned sodas, which is why I gave the overall value a four. However, the breakfast burrito, home fries, and regular fries were AMAZING. Probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a really long time, and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. The sandwich I had was pretty good, but nothing super special, and definitely not worth $16. I didn't particularly care for the Dijonnais, but that's just personal preference and glad I had it on the side. The restaurant itself has ample parking and is easy to find. It has a lot of seating, as well as lounge type seating for the breakfast/café crew and people who might be coming to do a little bit of work. You order at the front and they give you a number and bring the food out to your table. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was clean. Overall, I would probably give this somewhere between a four and a five, but I do really love to support Local and I could tell this place probably makes a banging coffee drink and had delicious looking desserts, so I went with a 5. Unfortunately, we live between 35 and 40 minutes away, so we likely won't return, but if we find ourselves in that area of Chapel Hill, I would consider stopping in for another breakfast burrito!

I…read moreappreciate being able to order delivery directly from the store and it arrived promptly and fresh! We ordered the beef "burrito," which is beef wrapped in a scallion pancake, with Peking duck sauce, the General Tsaos chicken, and noodles with scallion oil. We added on a soup and the cucumber salad to get the discount and it honestly was amazing. Everything had so much flavor and there was so much we wanted to try! The only thing was that the noodles were a little bland and clumped together but I was able to doctor them up, and I wish the beef appetizer came with a dipping sauce. Overall though, I cannot wait to order again and this might be our next date night. Definitely a hidden gem in Chapel Hill!

Our original plan was to get 1 Braised Beef Noodle Soup and 1 Beef Filet & Tripe that we'd both share, but we only got half of that plan fulfilled this time. The waiter said that they are out of the tripe appetizer, which we enjoyed in our first visit few months ago. So we were really disappointed that they were out of their best appetizer. Wheat is a small indoor restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill, on the same spot as where another bad Chinese restaurant used to be. Its cramped space and uninviting ambiance make Wheat an unpleasant spot to eat. It took around 15 min. for us to get our 1 order of Braised Beef Noodle Soup, which tasted the same as we remembered when we first tried it. It comes with about 4 chunks of braised beef, 1 egg. 1 baby bokchoy, and noodles in spicy & sour soup with chili oil. $14+ for a beef noodle dish like this is not bad but I can think of other restaurants in Triangle NC that serve a similar beef noodle soup with better ambiance and customer service. Overall Score: 2.4/5
