I have been here a number of times before I lived here in Duluth. I used to come here to this…read morelocation with friends when we would want to load up on items to start/finish our evening out, or even stay in and enjoy ourselves without going anywhere. The selection is vast, there is plenty of beer, wine and liquor to meet anyone's needs. When you walk in, you can grab a little cart in case you're buying way more than you think you're going to need in order to make it easier to lug around all the bottles you are going to get. Coming from Chicago, I am used to very competitive pricing even with the high rate of taxes that they push there in IL. The pricing here is also very competitive. I like buying the "handles" because the price per oz. is going to be the best, and yeah it's hard to store handles in your home but why pay more when you can get the best deal possible? On checkout, they have put up a plastic barrier to keep your distance from the person cashing you out. It's a nice touch, and gives you the peace of mind that you're not going to have close contact with anyone if you can avoid it. The cashier also offered to provide me with a box so I could carry everything out to my car conveniently so I also liked that touch. HOWEVER.... The last time I was here, I had a very awkward encounter while shopping. I was the only one in the store that was not an employee, and I assume this person was the owner or manager...he was super unhappy with the placement one of the other employees made with boxes of beverages on a display in the store. He was REALLY unhappy and kept commenting on it to the employee, and it was super awkward. I guess it had something to do with the wood flooring, and I get that it's probably something that could have been avoided. But I was walking around the store trying to figure out how to avoid being around this super agitated situation. I wish that they took the conversation in the back, or maybe handled it with a quiet dialogue rather than having the boss chew this guy out right on the spot for at least 3-4 minutes while I'm trying to figure out how to get what I need and get the hell out of dodge. You're the boss, or the owner- it's your right to treat your employees however you do- but man it's super weird to watch that happen while I'm trying to spend over $120 on alcohol at your store. It's like watching people that treat servers poorly just because they think they are better than them. Not a fan. Especially these days when things are super stressful enough with employment, health, and finances being so up in the air. It just was rough all around. I hope that it was a one time thing, but I don't know that I'm coming back here because I felt horrible about the entire situation. If I could have stayed and told the guy getting hollered at to try and let it roll off, I would have. But it was still going on when I left.

I can't say enough nice things about these guys. They carry a great selection of beer, wine and…read morespirits. Paul & Bernard take really good care of me, even with special requests and , 'hey; could you watch out for...whatever.' I buy most of my libations here out of loyalty to them. You guys ROCK!
