Great variety of every kind of alcohol you would like. Occasionally has top shelf if you are lucky. There's also imported liquor from Asia in novelty containers. I came here to check on any Buffalo Trace bottles but they only had the green Wellers (great price at $29 a bottle). The owner says they sporadically get Blantons but they were sold out. I found some Sunny D with vodka for my (adult) children and some moscato for my mom. There's also a great variety of Korean soju in different flavors. Of course there's tons of wines and beer for sale. Overall you can't lose, unless you're bourbon hunting. read more

Do not do business with World Beverage because they sell bad champagne. This is the first time this has happened to me and I shop there all the time when I'm in the area. I took my receipt thinking they would make it right but they said I need to bring the bottle but like I said when I'm in the area I shop there. Needless to say they didn't make it right. When I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop by to see what new items they have in store. We recently discovered that they carry a variety of Long Drink - newest version is Stronger Long Drink, as well as all of my favorite soju flavors. It's been difficult finding the peach and green grape. They have a great selection on dark liquor on the right side of the store too! As they're an essential business, we make sure to come by to stock up. Great prices for the plethora of booze available. Owner and staff are wonderful. read more

Since moving to Duluth in 2004, I have appreciated the extensive selection of beer, wine, and liquor at Beverage World, as well as the great prices, and that hasn't changed in 16 years. The few negative reviews are confusing to me, because I have been a BW customer since the time of the original owners, and the only thing that changed really, were the faces. The service has always been top notch, knowledgeable, and friendly, then and now. And speaking of customer service, during our most recent visit (COVID-19 era), we were actually able to call ahead with an order, and when we arrived, everything was on a dolly used to bring it straight to our waiting car, and they took care of loading everything quickly, safely and conveniently, and I'll say it again - Friendly. Finally a liquor store that sells my favorite soju: Jinro Tok Tok Peach. I have looked everywhere in the Atlanta area for this drink. Some package store will tell you they can special order it, but this place sells the drink in 6 packs. I'm all about that immediate satisfaction. read more

Sadly it used to be a go to spot with the old owners. The new people are just down right rude and unprofessional.

I passed this store for years without going in until one night we were looking for a particular beer and our normal place was out of stock. We called here and they had it. The store is oddly laid out, you go in on one side and come out another like an old supermarket. They seem to have some hard to find drinks and have a good whiskey selection. What disappointed me was that one of the store employees followed me around last night. He didn't even try and stock shelves or pretend to work, just kind of stood there facing a wall. I don't take these actions lightly and won't be back. read more

Their beer selection is improving, but the bourbon corner is awesome! They have some very hard-to-find bottles, as well as specialty barrels they buy direct. And I'm not talking about their own barrel of Four Roses or 1792; they buy barrels of Whistlepig and Weller 107, both of which are on my personal favorites list. Their buyer, Bill, is a great guy and knows the business. He makes sure they stay stocked on all the good stuff and has prices up to 10% less than local competition on many bottles. read more

Good prices on booze and a dollar cheaper on Soju than some other stores in the area. Some of the customers have come from Florida and said the prices are better here than in their own state. Good to know before taking that vacation stock up and save 5% on cases. read more

I've shopped at this store for over 3 years. They have a decent selection and the customer service is normally okay but today it was awful. Im not sure what personal problems the gentleman behind the counter is going through but there's no excuse to be so rude and disrespectful to a customer for no apparent reason. Great place on pleasanthill for liquor. I really enjoy their extensive liquor selection and there's always someone to greet you and ask if you need help picking something out. The workers are knowledgeable about the alcohol and I always appreciate their opinions. I just wish they had a better wine selection. read more

Lived in the area for 18 years and shopped here often. Never have had a problem until tonight. I bought a bottle of wine that had turned to vinegar and had a bad taste. When I brought it back and asked to exchange it for the exact same bottle I was told by Luke that they really were not supposed to return or exchange it. I've had good experiences with the employees in this well-stocked shop thus far, but the Chinese owner acted really gruff and said racist things (??) towards me for some reason. And this was my first time interacting with him. Advice for the owner, everyone has bad days, but if you're not in a good mood, don't approach your customers. I purchased a case of wine on June 30, 2015. I was told to return on Thursday, July 2, 2015 after they received their delivery from their distributor. I returned on Friday, July 3 and was told they did not receive their delivery as expected. I was asked to return the following week (after Thursday) to pick up my merchandise. I returned today, July 10, only to learn that they did not have the merchandise. I requested a refund of the purchase price and was refused, because the "wine guy", Josh was not there. I asked them to contact Josh and they said they could not, he doesn't have a cell phone. The General Manager told me that he would have Josh call me as soon as he arrived at work (at about 5:30pm). I walked out in disgust and purchased the merchandise I desired at Sweetwater Package Store (very close by). It is now 9:00pm and I have not heard from the store. BE WARNED - DON'T PATRONIZE WORLD BEVERAGE! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND TREAT YOU WITH THE UTMOST DISRESPECT. SIMPLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. read more
