I made my first visit this afternoon for a late lunch and enjoyed a nice meal with friendly service. I tried the turkey plate with a side salad and very good green beans. The turkey was good and the red bbq sauce added to it. The hush puppies tasted very good and the white bbq sauce complimented them very well. Very good sweet tea. Just got taken to the cleaners on dinner at John's BBQ on Court st. Ordered a 2 piece chicken plate with a couple of sides and a unsweetened tea. The chicken was quite small, not to mention over cooked, probably due to its size! Then I was charged nearly $17 for this "kids meal" size plate. When I got home I checked a couple on line menus, and sure enough, they charged me at least $5 too much. I could have got a plate of ribs for that, but last time I did that, they were more fat than meat! So disappointed with my last two visits! I guess Ill try the other BBQ's read more

I don't usually write a negative review on places to eat. We eat at John's barbecue on court street often But I went there a few weeks ago. I love their cheese burgers with the exception of cold buns(like out of the frig cold) I ask the lady waiting on us to have them to warm the bun as I have done in the past with no problem. She treated me as if I was a child in school. Telling me that it was against the RULES to heat a bun. Very rude. We got up and left she still kept saying RULES are RULES. I called the manager the next week. He said they had stopped heating buns since customers didnt like them heated. But he would have a talk with the lady about being rude and talk to John and get back with me. I told him I would not come back until after he called me back. I still have not heard from him. I guess they don't care about their customer. read more

Great hospitality employees were nice fast deliverance on food. food was great the fish and shrimp was cooked perfectly.

Food here is mostly great, though very occasionaly can be a little uneven. That being said, this is one of our "go to" spots for lunch or dinner. Almost everything is good, even the fried oysters. Service is usually very good. Prices are reasonable. Log cabin ambience on the Court Street location adds to the experience. Highly recommend. read more

It just gets better from there. Choices of plates, sandwiches, and stuffed potatoes--nothing skimpy. Lots of sides to choose from, not just canned beans, watery slaw, and chips. Quick attentive search even at a busy lunch time. Log cabin vibe, cool and comfortable. I opted for a pork BBQ potato and for $7 had a large satisfying lunch. My hubby and I enjoy eating here. My husband's says they have the best ribs around. I enjoyed the barbeque pulled chicken sandwich and mayo slaw and of course their white barbecue sauce. Very pleasant staff. We highly recommend Johns Barbecue. read more

We have used John's barbecue before in the past. It has always been very good. Today we were passing through molten, and wanted to get a pulled pork sandwich. The sandwiches Selfors was pretty big for a regular which is not a problem. It was very delicious. Only a little slate gray but I would have us there was a little bit too much sauce on the sandwich that made it to Brad Paul apart basically but it was really really good. Another slate gray because that when we got our sandwich there was no napkins in the in the bag. Which would help but other than that four-star is very good. Being so far from home on the road for sales calls, I was happy to find John's BBQ as a local option for lunch. However it was very disappointing that the BBQ wasn't very good. Potato salad came out of a bucket and the meat wasn't cooked on the property.. not a smoker in sight of the place! One of the worst sandwiches I have ever ate. The only reason I gave one star is because I had too before it would let me write a review. I ordered a chicken sandwich and verified with the waitress that it came with cole slaw and sauce on it. I ordered at the drive up window. When I got back to work and started eating it I found that there was no slaw, and no sauce and about a tablespoon of meat on it. It did have a nice piece of chicken skin included. (yuk!) What little meat there was was also very dry. I was not impressed and will never eat there again.. If you like good Barbeque stay away from this place read more
