Service was fast. I ordered at the kiosk and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I tried both the poki bowl (Johnny's) and the NY sushi roll. Overall, the food taste was just okay. A lot of sauce and filler (lots of rice). Each item costed over $16, which I just didn't feel was worth it, when this price point is comparable to other restaurants who serve much higher quality food. I am a lover of Poke bowls but this place didn't hit the mark. I see all the raving reviews so I was truly excited. When I first walked in you see the plexi glass around the ordering area, and there were two ordering stand up tablets. Walked over and asked the lady behind the plexi glass and asked if I should order off the tablets, since there weren't any other customers. She stated yes...so on to ordering. I knew I wanted a bowl. Started with trying to find my options and realized that they do not have many options when it comes to the items you can put in your bowl. They stated lettuce on their screen but it actual is mixed greens. I order the mixed greens with brown rice, cooked shrimp, corn, spinach, cucumber, seaweed salad, mango, edamame, cilantro, pineapple and i choose eel sauce. I wanted other sauces with my protein and there was a charge for that, and if I wanted any other extra of an item. Normally when I go to poke bowl places, the extra veggies nor the sauces are not an extra charge. They do offer gluten free soy sauce. Once I seen my bowl it wasn't all that, but I was excited to try it. Once I tried it, honestly for $16 I wasn't really impressed. Johnny's is not a place that I would go to as my go to poke place. Needed a quick lunch stop off of I-95 and Yelp came to the rescue and steered us to Johnny's for some excellent sushi burritos. Johnny's Poki Bowl is a small establishment tucked in a strip mall with plenty of parking just a few min off the I-95 exit. We ordered online and our food was ready and waiting when we arrived. The masked staff held my receipt up to the plexiglass to confirm my order and then passed the bag through a flap for me to grab. No one was eating in, so I'm not sure if they're not yet offering indoor dining or if we just came at a weird time. Our sushi burritos were massive and jam-packed with high quality fish and veggies such that I didn't feel like I stuffed myself just with rice. You can create your own burrito or poke bowl, but they offer more than a dozen pre-designed burritos with the option to pay extra for add-ons or ask for ingredients to be left out. I got the Magical Sushi Burrito with salmon, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, mango, and spicy crab, which was excellent. BF loves crab, so he was happy with his California Sushi Burrito with added Tempura crunch. Neither of us expected to finish our humongous burritos, but neither of us wound up with any leftovers. We have gotten carry out a few times during COVID and Johnny's is AMAZING!! The portions are huge, everything looks and tastes fresh, and the staff are very friendly! When you walk in to get your order the first thing you see is how clean the restaurant is, they have a small table with paper menus and hand sanitizer near the register, and they have a large plexi glass like structure keeping you and the staff safe and they require everyone to wear a mask. I was super surprised at finding this poke bowl place while on a work trip in Aberdeen, MD. It opened not too long ago and I hope it stays because it is a much needed addition to the Aberdeen scene! The servings are massive (same with a lot of places in this area I have come to find). They are also updated to fit the technology 2018 with their ordering system. You select everything yourself with a tablet and pay at the register. I highly recommend going with the half-soba and half-salad option because it has a good balance between the two. If you want something on the go, try the sushi burritos! This was my go-to for lunch pretty much everyday because it was convenient, healthy, and did not skip at all on the servings! Cannot wait to come back to try it out again when I am back! The only critique I would give is that they could focus on their decor and atmosphere because it is pretty standard. Mistakes happen. I had spills, a torn bag and a missing item. I was not angry. I always order @$100 every time I order from Johnny's (on average @3 times a month if not more). The store called me to dispute, argue, and harass me about my missing item. If I was trying to get over on the restaurant I would have tried to get my over $100 back versus @$8. They do sushi burritos as well as poke bowls. When you walk in, you order on an iPad. I think the interface on the iPad could be a little friendlier. One friend I was with wanted to take something off her poke bowl but couldn't figure out how. I also think that they should figure out how to let you pay with a card via the iPad. It's kind of redundant to wait in one line to order on the ipad, and then wait in another line to get to the cashier to pay. Besides that, the food was very good! Johnny's is a great lunch spot for a quick fix. I came here with two friends from a local training I was attending. I had some kind of spicy salmon poki bowl. It was well made and fresh, but nothing to write home about. It ultimately left me craving something more. I've been three times in two weeks so I guess I like it. Likely because it's a healthy option to fast food, but fairly quick. Lots of flavor and "made to order". Clean and well lit facility. And close to work My first ever Poke bowl, I ordered the brown rice base, spicy chicken protein, and lots of toppings: was NOT disappointed. It took longer than I expected (I'm envisioning watching the subway guy knock my sandwich out in a few seconds as I tell him what I want). But this is sorta "gourmet" and presentation is def a step above subway. Can't swear to it cause I ordered and sat down, but I believe they may even do some of the cutting/chopping per order rather than having every thing pre-chopped and risk dress food browning. But perhaps because it was late in the evening and not at lunch they prep per order You order at screens in the front, pick one of three bases: rice, brown rice, iceberg lettuce, noodles. Pick TWO proteins! Yeah two meats (tofu is an option). Pick all the toppings you want, plus sauce. Total about $13. Kinda high for lunch, but was enough for 1 1/3 meal so cost could be calculated to be about $10, which is typical lunch fare. I returned another instance w a friend who has some difficult w the screens. I felt one employee was VERY helpful and patient, while the other seemed to want to just get the order hurried up. Unsure why. We literally were the ONLY customers and it was 7p, so they weren't closing. That was my only bad experience thus far: an impatient worker. They brought the food to our table I returned yet another instance with two coworkers for a late lunch, so we missed the lunch crowd. Same scenario, but non of us had issues w the screen so no impairment worker. We had to go back to the front to get our order. So I'm not sure the "pick up" protocol. Both co-workers enjoyed. One got noodles as a base and was disappointed that it was cold noodles-perhaps you can have them warm it? He ate his entire bowl in one setting. All three times I had left overs. This poke bowl is too busy. I'm from Hawaii so forgive me for being judgy. My first time I asked the lady to surprise me. It was more a salad bowl than a poke bowl. I can walk into Tamura's, or Foodland, or Alicia's and know what they have before I see it. In their effort of being original, they have left what poke is and gone to something totally un-poke like. To each it's own. On my second visit, I asked for rice and fish, that's it. The fish isn't fresh. Once you remove all the other flavors, sesame oil, furikake, and edamame, you realize the fish is really not sushi grade. Why would it be, if it were, you'd be paying an arm an a leg. read more

I liked this restaurant the first time I tried it and looked forward to it again today. However I could not believe what I encountered today. The large fish tank was green in color. A large dead fish at the bottom of the fish tank and several other fish (one large) swimming around on the other side. I am pretty sure they too will be dead by the end of the day. I told the girl at the counter they may want to do something bc it was upsetting to see. I know it is just fish but still I don't like to see living things suffer. She didn't seem to care. For something fresh, quick, and easy come here. Poke bowel is always a good choice. Would recommend against the tuna tataki. I'm not sure if it's pre-packaged but it seemed like it's been sitting on the shelf longer than it should of, before making its way out. Causing the house sauce to be murky and not as appetizing. Quality is way down when compared to the tataki at the main restaurant, that I get all the time. read more

Stopped by during the coronavirus- so no seating, the staff is *completely* blocked off by plastic screens, and they are offering take out, either preorder or via touch screens. Pretty delicious, but a bit on the pricier side for a poke bowl- a standard poke bowl will run you 15 here, compared to a 12-13 for most places of the same size. On the other hand, they offer more "premium" toppings for a one-size price, and delicious toppings ive never seen at other places, like a japanese sweet egg and tofu skins- a lot of variety for sure. I do wish they would let you choose more sauces or mix- they only let you choose a premade one. The other downside would be the "salad" options- they only offer iceberg lettuce, which makes for a more lackluster bowl when compared with one made with mixed greens. As a poke enthusiast (as I do usually enjoy them at least once a week), I would say that its a very fair option, excellent considering the area. I would highly recommend the eel- really will hit the spot. read more

On average the prices ranges from $13-15 dollars. It is well worth it. Nonetheless, The inside is tidy, neat , quiet and always well put together. You place your order on a kiosk then pay.
