I have been with her for over 8 years and she is a doctor who listens, addresses concerns, and puts patient care at the center of her practice. She is clear with options and risks with medications, and is clear with follow up instructions. She is a very professional, kind, and caring doctor. I am always able to get into see her in a reasonable time and have referred other friends to her who have also told me how much they like that they have a doctor who listens. Dr. Sharma has given me referrals as needed over the years to specialists who have also been very helpful in addressing other medical needs that have come up with illnesses, injuries, and required testing that is needed with aging. One of the best things about this practice is that you can get your bloodwork done in house - so it's nice to have a morning appointment, come to the appointment fasting, and get your bloodwork done right away- no other appointments or trips to a lab needed! Her office staff is very nice and helpful. They are efficient with paperwork needs and have always been professional and friendly. If you are looking for a primary care physician, Dr. Sharma might be your great fit!

The only semi negative thing i can say is that you should expect a wait regardless of your appointment time. This is because they spend a lot of time with each patient going over the visit. This doctor was the first that I actually have grown to trust, despite only seeing her three times now. She was very gentle and and explained the process as she gave me a pap smear, and she has listened to all of my medical problems and taken them to heart, ordering tests to be taken. She's referred me to a couple different specialists for my illnesses, and also calls to check back up with me a couple days later. Also, waiting room is calm, inviting, and the new Highgrove Medical Centre is not run down like a lot of doctors' offices in downtown Bakersfield. If you don't agree with her she will belittle you into thinking you're the one that's wrong rather than explaining like most doctors! No thanks! Matuk gave me a colonoscopy without ever a follow up. So Mary or Mark; hope I didn't get the gender wrong, the office manager, refused me because they said I saw another VA doctor. Why would the VA make an appointment with Matuk if I saw another doctor? That didn't make sense or wasn't a logical reason refuse to see me OR it's because of my service to this country. Dr. Matuk's office refused me because of my veterans service or because of my ethnic background as a Native American! I have 2 excellent insurances both Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the VA insurance but was refused service. As a proud member of the VA and the American Legion of California, I will be informing ALL veterans of this horrible group of medical "professionals" and Matuk's office! Horrible people!!!
