I saw his PA, Jonathan Redwing. for several visits and this young man absolutely knows his business. I only saw Dr. Wupperman as I was getting closer to having surgery so he could evaluate what I would need as I have a small frame. Surgery was scheduled, and I had the replacement. I did several weeks of physical therapy and am happy to report, my recovery is almost 100%. I could not have asked for the results to be any better. I also saw him several years ago when I fractured my leg. When it appeared that my leg was not healing, he did not hesitate to send me to someone else to see if something was being overlooked. If you are faced with having surgery, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Wupperman and his staff. I am sorry for the negative reviews, but they were made several years ago. After my surgery, I had a prescription for pain medication. I only took it for a few days before I started weening myself off as I had had a bad experience with taking it which ultimately required surgery. That stuff can do bad things to you if you are not careful.

I would not let this so-called doctor operate on my dog. He talks up his surgeries and makes you…read more think he is the best of the best. He tells you how bad off you are, which you already know, but refuses you pain meds even if your surgery is weeks away, and forget about "service after the sale." No next day phone call to see how you are doing and even though he knows it will take several weeks for you to mend, you have to practically beg for pain medication then and he will only write you an RX for #30. He is so paranoid about giving out pain meds, you are left to suffer.

I would honestly rate them 100/10. They were attentive, kind, and made a very difficult situation much easier. While my overall stay had some challenges -- particularly with response times and delays in assistance at certain points -- it seemed like this may have been related to staffing levels rather than the individuals themselves. I also experienced some concerns around discharge timing while I was still dealing with significant pain, weakness, dizziness, and fluctuating blood pressure, though I ultimately stayed longer due to a heart-related issue. One small note: food delivery was often delayed, so ordering ahead may help. Overall, the standout staff I mentioned above truly made a difference in my experience, and I'm very grateful for the care they provided.

The Good: Nearly every nurse I had was personable, knowledgeable, and willing to answer my questions. I'm not great at remembering all the names, but almost the entire staff on the 4th floor of the Houston tower were just phenomenal. Also, when I was admitted, I was on a "cardiac diet" that was from an incident from many years ago, but I was also cleared for outside food (imagine not being able to get a packet of salt from the cafeteria, but I could order Whataburger if I wanted to.) I appreciate that the lady working at Food Services took the time to call around and find out what was up, and get it fixed so that it reflected my actual health needs. Also, the paramedics who transported me were kind, skilled, and calming. The Bad: I had one nurse by the name of Annabelle who did not flush my IV for a full day, leading to it needing to be replaced, and who would not get the charge nurse. During my last IV antibiotic infusion of her shift, I told her it was painful (it shouldn't have been) and she told me the IV was probably just tired, then left for an hour and didn't come back to check on me, just left it going. She also basically manhandled me, rather than allowing me to move my own pajama sleeve out of the way, pulling on my IV and causing additional stress.

Oh my god - so unprofessional and rude -…read more 1. 'Liz' mocked me for not finding the paperwork I needed to fill out on their website..... 2. She made it a point to emphasize multiple times, - 'IF, that's IF, we decide to take you on as a patient,' ... 3. then she hung up on me when I mentioned that I had actually ended up finding a different clinic to go to sooner, while waiting for her, Liz, the new 'patient coordinator' to call me back. (Even though I was still interested in booking with a FM doctor.) Their website looks fancy, but there's something seriously wrong with the humanity at this clinic. Steer clear....

While we did receive excellent care from Dr. Carmack we regret that she is no longer at this practice. I spoke with a dietitian who previously was connected to IHM and she says the whole place is different now than it used to be. This is because they now are accepting insurance and the insurance companies control now. She left IHM as well. This is sad to hear because even though we ended up with a huge debt from the treatment we received here because the insurance would not cover it, it was the most effective. In the end I guess the dollar won out and a highly effective practice was squashed by the controlling insurance company.
