Had lunch here today and was not very impressed. Ordered a sandwich and wanted french fries but was told that they don't serve french fries till after 1 PM each day. Imagine a restaurant that sells hamburgers and sandwiches but doesn't offer french fries for lunch. Well if that wasn't ridiculous enough it was 12:52 when I place my order and was told this. They never asked me if I wanted to wait the eight minutes to get fries. I noticed that the girl who took my order looked like she was very unhappy and the guy behind the counter with her looked like he didn't want to be there either. We love this place. I had the chicken fried steak plate, and my friend had the hamburger steak plate. We love their char grilled oysters, but they don't have any oysters in stock. We understand, because it's too hot outside, so I'm sure the harvest of oysters are reflecting that. read more

Has a hometown feel to it, with Big City flavors. I happened to visit my in laws and they highly recommended it. The french dip sandwich was amazing, so was the Rockefeller pasta. My son had the red sauce pasta and he loved it. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

Let me say this first the food is good to very good BUT.... If you order something in a to go container such as coleslaw, soup or ranch dressing for your salad are S.O.L. they don't fill them up. I've ordered extra orders of coleslaw three different times and two orders at a time and out of an 8oz serving container you are lucky to get 2oz and one ounce is the water from the cabbage (Cabbage has a high water content) This may come off as trivial but if you pay for a serving you should get a serving not a sample. The staff is very nice! The owner is argumentative and full of excuses. Moral of the story check your order before you leave this place like you do when you got to Mc Donald's or Burger King. read more

Delicious! I just had lunch there today with my mother. I had the chipotle brisket on sourdough with pasta salad as my side and my mom had the taco salad. There was a 20 minute wait for food so I'd suggest calling ahead if you can but since I didn't, I sipped on an orange passion sweet tea which was super refreshing. This little place gets busy and now I know why! My sandwich was delicious and cheesy. Melt in your mouth kind of good. The brisket was expertly cooked with fantastic flavor. The chipotle flare was a perfect touch. I don't think that I came up for air the entire time. The pasta salad was delicious and simple, very creamy. I probably could have eaten a whole bowl of just that. The taco salad was comforting. The vegetables were fresh and then there was a "sloppy" component as a taco salad should be. The menu is extensive and when asked for some direction, the sweet gal behind the counter gave me about four popular choices. I went with the turkey pesto. The pesto was not overwhelming, it was served hot, and the service was friendly and quick. I didn't get crazy with my side item - just chips. In from Chicago, I wanted some local eats somewhere between NOLA and BRLA. So I picked this spot. The wraps were delicious. Sides were a little iffy--I'm not used to potato salad that's the consistency of mashed potatoes. Everything else, though, was fresh and tasty. Met my son and girlfriend there, and they said they'd make the drive from BRLA again to eat there. Very extensive sandwich menu. Small unassuming sandwich in a strip mall down the street from Dutchtown, but don't let that fool you. John Michael can whip up one tasty sandwich. This is the best sandwich shop in all of Gonzales! I come here at least once a week! Their pasta salad is amazing! My usual order is the chicken Caesar wrap on sun-dried tomato with pasta salad, and a large Orange passion tea! Their chicken Alfredo is also very delicious! Looking forward to them expanding! Where do I start? The A/C was not working and it was so hot and muggy inside, that it was miserable. If I own a restaurant, I'm calling somebody PRONTO to fix that problem. We couldn't wait to get out it was so hot. Second, the drinks were all flat and tea was watered down. Third - the portion size for a 16 dollar seafood combo plate was a joke. My kids' chicken Alfredo portion size was bigger. Fourth - no toilet paper. Fifth - no to go boxes The owner really needs to do better than that. This location is brand new and it's as if they opened too soon and weren't prepared. I'm sure it's ok as a quick to go place for lunches and such, but not a good place to sit down and dine in. read more

I have tried a lot of their food and everything has been outstanding. Their pasta salad that comes as a side is wonderful. Not sure what the sauce is but they need to bottle and sell it. It might come in a bottle already who knows. You will not go wrong if you eat here. read more

This place is awesome. That staff are friendly and the wait for the food is not long at all. They have the best salads, sandwiches, wraps and even cookies! I came here and got a wrap with eggplant omg it was the best thing ever!! I was so happy I tried this place and I got a side of chips. They also had potato salad and other things for sides. Also I love sweet tea but there sweet tea is of two choices and it's not the typical sweet or unsweetened. Get this.... The choices are spearmint and orange. I had the spearmint and I was thinking what the heck?? But no this tea was life changing.. It was so good! And really opens those senses up. This tea is tasty and would actually be great for a cold. It was good except that they forgot to put the cheese on my sandwich which cost them the second star, the first star deduction was because it was UNBELIEVABLY COLD in the shop. I had to go and get a sweater from my car and the really sweet counter girl was shivering and I felt sorry for her--I'd have left my sweater for her but it was my favorite sweater, (hanging head in shame) so I feel bad I left her there cold and shivering but she does have access to the thermostat and I did not. They were really nice, and my really yummy sandwich was out quickly sans cheese and beloved husband liked his sandwich as well. Stopped here for lunch while heading through town, boy am I glad I did. Nice little place with a super friendly staff. I ordered the Eggplant chicken wrap, and asked for some changes to the toppings and it was not a problem. Friend got the club, was also good. The potato salad was ok...has a consistency of mashed potatoes. The food was delicious and it was a nice clean place. Oh and the fresh baked cookies were sooo good!! I come to this area around once a year for work (at one of the local plants). For the entire two weeks that I am here, I will come to this restaurant almost every single lunch time. I have tried several of the salads and a couple of the pastas (and a wrap - once, I think) and every experience has been top notch. It's real food (not processed junk) and it tastes great! The service is always excellent and the restaurant is always very clean. I will return next year! :) Also, the price range on Yelp says $11 - $30 but it's more like $11 - $15 ish. read more
