What really stood out to me is the attention to detail. I had been going to Dr. Manning for years. Then I sustained a lower back injury and went to PT for almost 10 months. PT to avoid chiropractic adjustments during that time did as they said. Then I started getting other joint issues and doctor says to do PT again and get shots. My instincts said Heck no! Went back to Dr. Manning. After only 1 adjustment: Knee pain gone. This review is for Shawndee, the front desk staff, not Dr. Manning. The adjustment I had was a good experience. I was recently laid off and was having severe wrist and neck pain from desk work and old injuries. I had one month of insurance remaining which covered chiropractic care. I called Shawndee and she told me that in order to get a quote, I needed to contact my insurance and wait for approval... pretty standard. I contacted my insurance who quoted me $5 for my copay. The approval took several weeks... also standard. Once I got my bill, I was being charged an additional $45. When I called Shawndee she was completely rude, repeatedly kept telling me she didn't understand why I couldn't understand the EOB, and had a conflicting explanation from what the insurance agents told me again when I called -- that my copay was $5. Insurance also told me that the additional fee was coded as a consultation, not a copay. Insurance and codes are confusing, we all know that. Here is my gripe... The out of pocket cost for treatment immediately would have been $65. Instead I waited several weeks for treatment, verified the cost with my insurance ($5) and communicated everything to Shawndee beforehand. Then when I received the surprise bill, there was ZERO understanding from her on why I was frustrated. She continually spoke to me like I was an idiot for not knowing the ins and outs of chiropractic insurance billing, and kept saying "I don't know what to tell you". Had I known that the difference between an out of pocket visit and a insurance covered visit was $15, I would have paid out of pocket and been treated much earlier, avoiding weeks of pain. There was zero assistance from their end to help me through the process. If your office is going to offer insurance coverage, you should be prepared to help your patients get accurate pricing before treatment. And if there is a hiccup in the system, at least show a little empathy instead of being so cold. read more

Dr. Manning and his staff are incredible. Unlike other run of the mill or "trendy" chiro places I've have come across. At his office there are no gimmicks or slimey sales tactics. He is a person of integrity and one of the few chiropractors out there who truly shows transparency in everything he does. He is a one of a kind person who Is an empathetic and authentic human being. Admittedly I've only been to two chiropractors in my life, but Dr. Manning is the best! He spends about 10 minutes with you during your appointment. We'll chat about activities and such that have helped or hurt my back since my last visit, then he'll get to work on adjusting me. He has a super sweet office staff and a private parking lot. Dr Manning is incredible!! I'm an athlete and my body is everything to me. I recently injured my shoulder and went to my primary doctor, my doctor took x rays of my shoulder and give me some bad news. He informed that I had a tear in my shoulder and would most likely need surgery to fix it. I was devastated by the news. The doctor informed me that I needed to see a specialist within a week. The problem was the specialist couldn't see me until January 22nd. They doctors wanted me to wait a whole month with my injured shoulder until I saw a specialist. Gotta love America's health care system. Luckily for me I remembered a great chiropractor(Dr.Manning) who once put my dislocated rib back in place back in August of 2018, in which he did outstanding job, the rib hasn't had any issues since the visit. Yesterday was my appointment with Dr. Manning and what a life saver he is!! He informed me that my shoulder injured wasn't as serious as the other doctors had hope (lol) and that I won't need surgery. What I needed is to tape the shoulder ( which he taped up for me) for a week and try not to use it. He informed me that I will be back to training in about 3 weeks. The other Jabroni doctors told me a need surgery and I'll be out of commission for at least 9 weeks. Moral of my rant is Dr. Manning is a real stand up guy, takes great pride in his work and truly cares about your health. I would highly recommend Dr. Manning to anyone who's in need of treatment and to all the athletes that see this just know that Dr. Manning is the real deal and you need him in your corner! I am a retired chiropractor, that had my first treatment by Dr. Manning yesterday. My chronic neck and low back pain was decreased, and I did not have to take Ibuprofen to sleep last night. A day after arthroscopic knee surgery I was compensating and tweaked my lower back. I have a history of tweaking my back and typically it gets better in a few days to a week. But this time the back pain got progressively worse (possibly because I was sitting more than normal icing the knee and compensating in my walking). PT and acupuncture helped temporarily but on day 7 I woke up in severe pain; I was barely able to get out of bed, walking 5 steps was excruciating, even washing my hands was painful. I couldn't stand up straight and I was tilting to the left (something I never do). And I'll spare you the details but sitting on the toilet would have been amusing except for the pain... Overall it was so bad I considered going to the ER. I was able to loosen up enough to go to Dr Manning's office that morning hoping to get in. He was very kind and understanding. He was booked all morning (it was the day before Thanksgiving) but offered to take me on his lunch break. He suggested icing for some relief in the meantime. It got even better when his staff called me back an hour later and said they could see me even earlier. Before my visit with Dr. M I had PT for my knee. She worked my back pretty good and I felt a little better but it was still painful. Dr. M asked me several questions, worked on my back with a percussive massager, and made 3 adjustments on me. He was very careful and put me at ease because in the past he had been adjusted right after ACL surgery so he knew I was worried about injuring my knee. I felt better right away but the amazing thing is just a couple hours later I was feeling a lot better. As I write this review I'm at a pain level of 1-2 whereas just 24 hours ago I was solid 9. I completely disagree with the skeptics out there who think chiropractors are charlatans; I know it was Dr. M's adjustments that helped me turn the corner. Finally Dr M does not do this only for the $$. He suggested that we have one more visit in 2 days. Since the surgery maxed out my out-of-pocket expense I was willing to come back for more visits this year. I asked him if I should book appointments for next week and he said let's wait and see (as I likely wouldn't need anything else). Imagine, if you will, a man--or the vestiges of a man--walking like a zombie, hunched and groaning. Moments from crying like a little girl. Struggling to get the words out. Mumbling to no one in particular...hurt...back...neck...help...grrrrrr. The good doctor didn't ask me to complete lengthy insurance forms. No, with compassion he led me into a room and asked how I did it. After prodding this and that, he worked his magic and provided the first relief I'd felt in days. I heard something POP, I felt something loosened. I felt better right away. The zombie walked out of Dr. Manning's office "almost" like new, promising that I'd leave the Olympics-style moves to the younger guys. On a side note, he's funny, compassionate, obviously knowledgeable and best of all, he's really, really good at what he does. Highly recommended if you bust yer butt playing the fool. read more

Awesome chiropractor. We love Dr. John. We had another chiropractor in Kensington that we really liked, but we had to make the switch because it was difficult driving out there every 2 weeks. During the time we were seeing him (our other chiro), we had switched to someone else that was closer to home and it just didn't work out with him so we went back thinking that it was going to take someone fantastic to help us switch. I like that he works from "word-of-mouth" and doesn't have a website. Totally old school. He's very reasonable with his prices, especially for the kiddos - which is awesome cause we have 2 and another on the way! :) He's good at what he does. We all feel great after an adjustment. What a wonderful experience! I just moved to the area and was looking for a chiropractor that could live up to my previous one ;) I saw the great Yelp reviews so gave them a call. The woman on the phone was extremely kind and helpful in booking me a (same day!) appointment as I was having some serious upper back pain. When I arrived I was pleasantly greeted by the young lady at the front desk who had me fill out new patient paperwork and got me checked in. PS. extremely affordable! Dr. John didn't have me waiting long and was pleasant and super friendly! He really took the time to get to know me (sort of rare nowadays with how busy most medical professionals are). Seemed to really care about me and helping me reduce my pain. Overall great bedside manner. Completely customized adjustment and gave me some tips for when I got home to help with my back. Dr. Manning has been my chiropractor for over 15 years! I have referred many friends to him and family members. He is now my family chiropractor. When my son was born he had a very stiff neck from being in utero. Dr. Manning was the first to examine my son's neck within weeks of being born. He held my son with such love and admiration and lightly stretched his neck. He suggested techniques on holding my son differently in order to gradually stretch his neck naturally. I have seen 6 different chiropractors over the last 14 years and Dr. Manning is by far the best Chiropractor I have ever been to. He is very down to earth, genuine, and always makes me feel welcome cared for. He provided chiropractic care to my wife before and after her last pregnancy which made her feel much better, and has also given adjustments to two of my children (under 5 years of age). My son was born with a bad case of torticollis, which caused him to have his head and neck out of position and twisted to the side. It was very uncomfortable for him and we were very concerned with how it would affect him later in life. Dr. Manning began to give him treatments starting when he was 6 months old. He is now 2 1/2 years old and you would have never known he ever had a problem. We are very grateful to him and the gentle care he provided to my son. Dr. Manning is the real deal.
