Terrible. Not licensed. License is suspended by the state of California. Do your research on him. He lies about the effectiveness of thermal imaging. My wife died from cancer after he told her that her egregious lumps in her breast were not cancer and gave her cleanse protocol instead based on his asinine reading of thermal imaging. Dr. Melvin really knows how to help his patients. He did a procedure for my wife and she's really feeling great now. Too bad for us that he's 120 miles from our home 'cause we have really found a excellent doctor. We will be back even if we have to drive so far. Dr Melvin is without a doubt the best Chiropractor I have ever met. I had been "diagnosed" by doctors in Sacramento and Carlsbad who insisted I would need surgery because of constant pain in my legs. Someone told me to at least go see Dr. Melvin before I consider surgery. My wife would literally help me out of bed and into the shower so I could put hot water on my back to at least get to the office for a few hours. When I first met Dr. Melvin he explained the back has many sets of muscles that rely on each other. As he was manipulating my back I could feel the difference he was making. I saw him on a Friday and he came to his office Saturday and Sunday to get me "functional". Those were not his normal hours but he did so out of the goodness of his heart. After about a month of 2 visits per week, I was much better and way more than "functional". He also told me that "I don't want you to always be seeing me"......and he taught a set of exercises and proper sitting that has stayed with me for the last 15 years. I have sent many family members and friends and will always continue to do so. read more

The Letter I emailed 2x with no response: I am writing this to you now as I am going through chemotherapy, because I think you should know about what happened after I left your office last March with an all clear no cancer diagnosis. I think I will begin with when I first came to you about my breast lump, last November. When I approached with questions the man in the front reception said Thermal Imaging was the better way to go because it is more accurate and less invasive than mammograms which actually causes cancer. This aligned with which what I have been reading. He also said what ever I do don't go the conventional way because I will end up cut, burn, poisoned. I definitely was terrified of that. I had done my Google research etc... The Thermal Imaging report given to me called it a low grade tumor. You said "no cancer" verbally to me. I was so worried but you and recommended following the cleansing protocols and said breast cancer is the least of my issues right now, we need to get your system moving and then come back for a recheck in three months, which I did. During that time a few things did improve, but the lump was worrying me as it had began to pull my nipple inward. When I did return, and while Linda was doing the imaging camera, I asked her if she knew why my nipple was beginning to turn inward. She either seemed to not know or to be not at all concerned about it and dismissed the comment, saying that what I really needed to do was come in and begin doing the lymph machine. And she added it is coming from my teeth. When you came in I asked you the same question, and it did not seem to bother you either as you said there was no change, "come back in three months". I left your office with a small voice in the back of my mind saying that something was very wrong with the care and attention I had received. I felt at several times that my concerns and myself were being brushed off by you and your staff, and I have met others that feel the same way. I went to the dentist and there was no infection or root canal in my teeth associated with the breast meridians. I then went to a nurse practitioner who said that when a nipple inverts it is a classic sign of breast cancer. She also said it is not just a lump, it is a life threatening disease. I went to get a mammogram and the mammography doctor told me immediately that I had breast cancer. They told me that thermal imaging does not go deep enough to diagnose cancer, and in any case certainty requires a biopsy which I then had to make it official. Now after a mastectomy and now two lymphectomies yielding total of 20 cancerous lymph nodes. I then was sent for a PET scan to determine if cancer was else where in my body. Thank god it was not. It is finally determined that I have stage 3b breast cancer. All the while I was remembering I paid you good money to diagnose my lump and you said I was all clear. I trusted your diagnosis and all while the cancer was spreading. Can you explain why did Thermal Imaging not pick up all those cancerous lymph nodes? I used to believe in the philosophy behind your practice, but now I have received a harsh reeducation. My treatment was delayed by six months due to a misdiagnosis at your practice. I want to know why you are using Thermal Imaging to diagnosis breast cancer, and why you are relying on it solely with out any further study? Your practice may cause others their life. Is surely been proved from my experience that Thermal imaging can not possibly be an accurate way to diagnose breast cancer as it does not go deep enough? I feel like I was mislead, others say it should have had further study and just relying on one from of diagnosis is irresponsible. If I had continued to listened to you and kept getting rechecked I would be dying right now, while your practice would live on misdiagnosing breast cancer and other women would be dying in the future. read more

Wow. I have been suffering with undiagnosed bulging discs and spinal stenosis for months, I was trying everything anyone would suggest to get some kind of relief. The things that the doctors would prescribe would not help at all and finally after 3 months, I got an mri. I met with my doctor for the results and she told me surgery was the only option. I am only 29! I thought that was ridiculous and there had to be a way to heal my body. My aunt told me about Dr Melvin and I decided it couldn't hurt to try something else, we did thermal imaging scans to help Dr Melvin get a better idea of what was going on and he instantly came up with a treatment plan. After just a few visits, I am so much better! I can walk upright instead of hunched over, I can sleep in my bed through the night with no pain, and I am finally feeling like me again! I am writing this review as a warning to those considering thermal imaging. Although I have not met Dr. Melvin, he is the doctor that analyzed the thermal scans I had done in Pennsylvania and he prepared the report which my doctor, Dr. Stephen Conicello, then read to me. My first scan was in March of 2016. No signs of cancer were seen. That was a huge relief as I had just had emergency surgery to remove my appendix the month before--and it was found to be cancerous. So, even though the scan cost $550 I felt it was worth it to find out if there was cancer anywhere else in my body. My doctor touted the benefits of thermography over mammography and advised me that I did not need to get a mammogram, that thermography can detect cancer 8-10 years before a mammogram and that it is safer, etc. So, for the first time in 15 years I did not get a mammogram. One year later I found out through a follow up CT scan of my abdomen that I had cancer in my breast (3 cm. tumor) and that it had spread to my lymph nodes. I was shocked! Why didn't the thermal scans pick up this "precursor" to cancer?! I had another scan done (out of curiosity and because I already paid Dr. Conicello close to $10,000 for his wellness program which included the scans) and was outraged to see that no cancer was detected...and yet I was already diagnosed Stage 2! Dr. Conicello had no explanation for this and explained that he doesn't prepare the report, Dr. Melvin does. Between these two doctors I am disgusted that they continue to offer thermal imaging as a means of detecting cancer when they both know that their patients have had false negatives with this test. This test was unreliable for me. No cancer was noticed and yet I have cancer! read more

I have been receiving thermograms for almost 10 years now from Dr. Melvin. I feel very confident in his abilities. He has been reading thermograms for over 23 years. Nothing is 100% accurate, but thermography is very sensitive. I have had friends and family members who have had mammograms in the past and they have missed things, a couple of my friends were told they were fine but come to find out through a thermogram that there was something very wrong, so mammograms do miss, and by the way they were diagnosed with cancer (missed by a mammogram) What I like about thermography is that it can monitor, see something brewing in advance. Sometimes when a tumor is left alone without a biopsy it will go away on its own (especially when the cancer is incapsulated) but when it is biopsied, or squished it will spread like wild fire. I really like the fact that Dr. Melvin looks at the whole body and how most disease starts in the gut and oral health, these 2 factors can really trigger breast disease and many other health problems. My last mammogram was 14 years ago. I will never ever have one again. I have dense breasts on top of it and mammograms don't pick anything up with dense breasts anyway, so what is the point? read more

I will never go back to this office again. You have absolutely no people skills whatsoever. My thermal imaging said everything was fine but then the ultra sound found a mass in my right breast. Thank God in ended up being benign but clearly, you are misdiagnosing people, and when I questioned you about it, you were mad as if I were bothering you . I originally went to Dr Melvin as a last resort before seeking surgery for my back which was in constant pain from an auto accident. I had gone to a regular chiropractor (the one the attorney suggested) and after months of going to him I was still in chronic pain - so I tried Dr. Melvin as a last resort. Dr. Melvin did a thorough exam and reviewed xrays and told me that if I followed his plan I wouldn't need surgery. I saw him once a day for five days in a row and the pain was gone. I went for maintenance periodically and it kept me aligned and pain free. My initial problem is completely gone and I have gone to Dr. Melvin ever since. Dr Melvin also has state of the art thermal imagining and a number of things to keep our bodies working the best they can. He is a doctor that really cares about his patients - he's not someone that is just there to make a buck - he cares about healing and teaching his patients to maintain a healthy body. I met Dr. Melvin and Linda Hayes at the Cancer Control Society Convention several years ago, and have been so thankful that I did. My special chiropractor in Long Beach had been Dr. Melvin's mentor. I have also discovered others that are well known in the health field are his patients and/or associates, so I felt confident of the services available at Dr. Melvin's office. He helped my 91-year old mother when she was struggling. I was so grateful for the time they all took with her. After researching alternatives to mammography, I was glad for the thermography services available locally to me in La Mesa. I prefer full-body scans which gives me an overall idea of what might be happening with my health. I appreciate having the pictures and explanations as a result of the analysis of the study Dr. Melvin does, and his willingness to discuss his findings with me and to answer my questions. I also appreciate Dr. Melvin's availability for the much-needed adjustments that provide relief from pain, and his recommendations on ways I can improve myself. Whenever I don't feel good, I head to the chiropractor for an adjustment. As a result, I don't see my Primary Care doctor that often which she always makes mention of. I am aware that Thermography and Chiropractic are not the end all to my health issues so try to keep a balance by going to my doctor when I feel it is prudent to do so. I also try to maintain a healthy diet, lifestyle and educating myself as much as I can. This group has been a lifesaver for me. I am grateful for all they've done to help me out. I would also mention that I do not take any prescription or over-the-counter drugs and contribute it to chiropractic and lifestyle choices.
