I had a tooth implant and after paying $4000.00 they said they wouldn't put my crown in after 9 months because I still owed money from prior visits, which was not true. When I proved the payments, they said those payments had gone to something else. They kept my tooth hostage till I paid them what they wanted. Yes, Dawn is very rude. When I went in to go over all the statements with them, they had moved payments and charges around so it was extremely hard to prove. I paid it just to get the crown and be done there.

Well, Dr. Zale is terrific. He has many years' experience but his practice is new, so he's very hands-on (he even answered the phone when I called to confirm my appointment) and he even does cleanings certain days of the week--he did mine! I'm not a particularly squirrely or nervous patient, but I could tell he'd be a great dentist for someone who IS nervous--he explained what he was doing and what he'd do next. He took a detailed history and took plenty of time to ask me what my concerns were and how I pictured the future of my teeth and my goals. (No one's ever asked me before if I wanted to keep my teeth for my whole life. I found the question unexpected but completely logical. Why has no one asked me that before?) Plus, he's just a cute, friendly guy, so I can't imagine kids or wussy adults would be afraid of him. He's confident & clearly knows his stuff, but he's not intimidating--all great characteristics you want in your dentist. (No new cavities, by the way! Clearly, I've been flossing, and he praised me for it). Dr. Zale's staff is really nice, too. They looked up my dental plan before my appointment so they were able to tell me what was covered and what wouldn't be covered (everything they did was covered by my insurance). Also, I asked Dr. Zale about a flouride treatment and he told me it wasn't necessary. I said that my previous dentist had recommended them to me, an adult with few cavities. Dr. Zale said that he does recommend them for some adults, but not for me. (Another reason my Milwaukee dentist was a scumbag. But I digress. This is about Dr. Zale, and he's great, compared to others and simply on his own). I'm actually looking forward to seeing him in six months. This is not a joke or exaggeration.

Around June 2022, I went in for mild tooth pain and Dr. Dabbour took x-rays. After he performed the exam, he explained that a root canal was my "only option" and the procedure would cost over $2500. Fortunately, I went to another dentist for a second opinion, and it turned out to only be a very small cavity that was easily filled. I called the office and complained about the unnecessary root canal recommendation, but the doctor never bothered to call me back. Incompetence or a scam? BEWARE of expensive procedures at this office. If they say "root canal", get a second opinion.

Today, I called Dr. Wertz office (based off of a referral to their office), I was able to get in right in. They told me to head on over! I was in pain but I even told them it wasn't horrendous but uncomfortable. I couldn't believe they were so nice to take a brand new patient on a moments notice! Once I arrived, I was greeted with a really sweet front desk girl who actually helped me a ton and even went out of her way to send insurance documents that my ins. Company needed from me and sent by me! Again, I was blown away! I had no wait even tho I saw all his rooms busy except mine obviously. A young gentleman started my visit and also a woman was helping him and she ended up doing the work aside the doc. Both of them were absolutely just pleasant sweet people! Lastly, Dr came in and he instantly made me feel so comfortable and I could genuinely tell, he really cared about his patients. He was willing to do whatever it took that day to get my tooth fixed. He at first thought root canal and most Dr's would just go with that to make more money, but once he drilled down, he saw I still had solid ground to fill it instead, saving me half the money! I didn't feel one slight bit of pain. He was constantly making sure I felt nothing!! This dentist and his staff are one of a kind and I had the BEST experience and will definitely be a life long patient despite my insurance being out of network. Because I always believe that early intervention, and being proactive is better to prevent a bigger issue and complications. So I told them I did not want to wait and I would pay out of pocket and not to charge insurance. We'll had the appointment the agreed to do both top teeth at the same visit. They scheduled the appointment and told me they would make the crown there so I would not have to wait. So I went in for a long day. The right upper was fine. The left upper, they just kept filing and filing and just could not seam to get it right. When it was in I was numb so After I had the numbness wear off. The tooth did not feel right. I had informed t b I'm on several occasions it was too big for me and was uncomfortable. They kept trying to adjust it by filing it down. I asked them to replace it. They keep ignoring my request and tell me that the tooth was always sticking out. I KNOW HOW MY TEETH ARE that was a lie. To this day they refuse to fix the problem. Also they charged me insurance after paying for the complete bill when the appointment was set up. They owe me $300.00 and have yet to pay me. They are not patient centered. My husband also had a temporary crown placed and the minute he walked in from that appointment it fell out. The same Dr Cathy that Put in my crown crooked because it was too big for the space. ​

So I came in expecting to not pay anything and I was told that it was a fee for the x-rays.(I was in the market for a fast races and have gone to multiple consultations, this was the ONLY place that charge for a consultation) I appreciated then doing the physical exam without the x-rays,(I did expressed that I refuse to pay money for anything) but the office was small and all the equipment was extremely out of date. At the end of the appointment I was given an idolize bill of what my treatment will cost and potentially how much my insurance would pay for. I ended up going to "Infinity Smile Dental" located in South Holland. Not only is Infinity Smiles office clean, their staff is extremely nice, its equipment is extremely up-to-date and My treatment was at a little over $1,000 less than what A-Z was about to charge for the same braces treatment.
