Our daughter started with a palate expander over 3 years ago, she's had baby teeth pulled and 2 years ago had surgery to expose teeth impacted in the roof of her mouth. One year ago she noticed that the last emerging tooth felt reversed/backwards. She felt it was smooth and round on the inside. Dr. Girgis DISMISSED HER CONCERNS and told her she was wrong. He offered her no explanation and NEVER EVEN MENTIONED the issue to us. Now, with the tooth almost in position, the bracket is not glued to the outside of the tooth! My daughter was right that the tooth is FLIPPED BACKWARDS! It could have been rotated over the year as it's been slowly pulled into position if Dr. Girgis had listened to her and considered that he might have made a mistake. How could he not have seen that?! We confronted him about this, after our dentist confirmed it, and he was very angry at us and said we were all wrong. He even said about our 15 yo daughter, "SHE'S A CHILD. SHE DOESN'TKNOW ANYTHING." Then he offered (or threatened) to pull the bracket off her tooth to prove he was right. We refused because he was angry and she was scared. So he said there was nothing he could do and we should seek treatment elsewhere if that's how we felt. He stormed out of the room, leaving the three of us, the tech, and another patient and tech nearby speechless. The office manager was called and Dr. Ito stepped it. They handled things as best they could, and Dr. Ito mentioned that the tooth was rotated. He didn't know that Dr. Girgis had NEVER SAID ANYTHING to us about it, so Dr. Ito's explanation was not very clear and we still don't know for sure what he would do to fix it. He did say it would take another 6-8 months, when Girgis said the braces would be off in 2-3. So maybe Girgis was going to stop with a backwards tooth? I don't know, but we've long since paid this office, so what do we do?

No office manager there currently. Seriously disappointed. Now paying top dollar for probably a very inexperienced orthodontists to finish my son's treatment. Do better. Looking for my options now as this is terrible. Here's a thought how about acknowledging the buyout and the orthodontists that have been here for over decade who established the practice are gone. How about communicate to current patients. How about inform us of who the new orthodontists are and their bios, credentials. Paid top dollar for this!! How Each practice has different procedures and protocol for the same findings. The doctor and receptionist were also kind and welcoming. (Maybe I just caught everyone on a good day).The building was clean, nice and the waiting room was large and set up to accommodate social distancing. I think I finally found my dentist.

We have repeatedly encountered unprofessional behavior, including being spoken to in a condescending manner, interrupted, and even yelled at over the phone--making it nearly impossible to voice concerns or ask questions. Additionally, there have been ongoing issues with insurance billing. Despite confirming coverage and accurate information with both of our insurance providers, the office has continued to submit claims incorrectly. When we've tried to bring this to their attention, instead of resolving the matter calmly, we've received harassing and aggressive phone calls--sometimes while caring for our 2.5-month-old baby at home. Most concerning is the unwillingness of the staff to allow communication with a manager or the dentist when we requested help. Threatening to send a patient to collections while refusing to acknowledge or correct their own billing errors is unacceptable. Because of the repeated mistreatment and lack of professionalism, we will not be returning to this office. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and to have billing concerns addressed, not ignored or escalated through hostile interactions.

The issue started when they started to numb the area in my daughter's mouth. They said it would only numb that one tooth and that it wouldn't hurt her. Well that was a complete lie! I wasn't even talking to her as the other lady was helping me but she decided to say "well dad wasn't being helpful in there".
