The Well House offers everything from massage, to facials, to halotherapy and more advanced cosmetic medical services. I assumed they were more of a serious medical spa, but they do offer traditional spa services. A friend had suggested trying a B12 shot to potentially improve some health issues I had been having. I booked easily online for a 5-minute B12 injection with nurse practitioner Mikayla. It will ask you to book for 15 minutes, but know you'll be in and out! Mikayla was approachable, warm and made me very comfortable. I would easily recommend her if she is available at booking for any future services you might need. The Well House is a really interesting historical building. It combines old roots with modern touches and the owner continues to put a lot of effort into the maintenance of the space. They have multiple floors including a halotherapy room! For accessibility purposes, an elevator is available for use. If you're a consistent high-end spa goer, they do offer membership packages. Overall, I had an extremely positive experience here and can't recommend them enough!

SERVICES -- They have acupuncture, back and neck chiropractic adjustments, massages, X-Ray imaging, etc. I visited this new location on 4 November 2021 for a Chiropractic back adjustment and then I came back on 9 November 2021 for a Deep Tissue Massage (full body) with Derek. Both services went great especially the massage because the massage was a whole full hour. Dr. Andy who does the chiropractic adjustments here is great. He doesn't pressure me to sign up for any packages and he listens to my concerns and questions about my back. INSURANCE -- The only problem that I have is that they don't have a good system to accept health insurance. Even if you have a health insurance plan, they will only accept it if the total cost of your chiropractic service is below (or above?) a certain dollar amount. Well, I suppose you can blame the insurance companies for this too. Example, if your insurance plan only covers a chiropractor visit that costs $70 and up, then you can't use your insurance plan at Great Lakes. PRICING -- Previously, a chiropractic adjustment was $45 but as of 2022, it is now $50 which is expensive because an adjustment takes less than 3 minutes. Prior to the adjustment; however, patients are asked to sit on the wobble chair to warm up their spine. I recommend Great Lakes Health and Wellness for your chiropractic needs. However, I had a last-minute work trip come up and had to get some vaccines prior to my travel. When I called 24 hours prior to my appt (after Labor Day weekend) to check if it would be safe for me to still get Botox, I was advised that I should not get Botox within one week of the vaccines. I asked to reschedule my appointment and was advised that I would be charged $125 cancellation fee. I feel that not only is the fee exorbitant, given that I was trying to reschedule based on their advice, NOT cancel; and it is unclear that reschedules fall under the cancellation policy which reads: " Appointments must be cancelled 3 business days in advance. If you do not cancel within 3 business days, you will be charged a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees are based on the service. If you need to reschedule, you can do so by phone. Email and social media messages are not acceptable." I even asked if I could get a different service done in lieu of Botox but was advised only the injector was working on the day of my appointment. I will not be back and cannot recommend this business to anyone else.

They charge for consultations, while many other salons offer them for free or apply the fee toward your service. My appointment was denied with no explanation--possibly because I expressed that it's unfair to charge for a consultation without giving customers the option to apply the fee to their service. Regardless, neither the owner nor a manager (if there even is one) attempted to follow up with me. I emailed multiple times with no response. The only time I heard from them was after I booked online, when they denied my appointment and sent a short, dismissive email. After doing more research, I realized this place is highly overpriced for what appears to be low quality customer service . There are plenty of spas in the city that truly care about their clients--try NulQ Wellness, Docere, or The Well Westlake instead. Take your business there and get treated like a customer.

Why offer a complimentary follow up if you are going to treat a customer like this? Also this complimentary appointment was unable to be rescheduled as complimentary and that was not communicated when making the appointment. She is not mindful of her customer's time and does not respect them enough to even communicate with them face to face. This makes for a poor relationship between customer and client. No matter how "good" your work is. The one thing that sets you apart in this industry is your customer service. She also blocked me as her customer instead of allowing me to freely review on this platform. This is bad business save your money and time and go to any other med spa in the area. There is a reason there is only 5 star reviews on here she blocks her customers before they even can review!
