After my central a/c unit stopped blowing cold air I figured I'd take a look at it myself. I found…read morethe capacitor to be a rusty, slightly expanded mess. I was able to switch that out myself but I was still getting warm air. After reading some other reviews I had no doubt who I was going to call. J&M had great reviews everywhere I looked. After my experience with them, I can absolutely understand why and thoroughly agree with all those reviews. I called and Phil answered the phone immediately. I wasn't sure when I would be available so I called my significant other to see if she could be there to meet him that day. Not only was he able to come out the same day, he was literally there 20 minutes after I told him she would be there waiting. In the end I simply needed a recharge. Fortunately he had the older freon available that my a/c unit needed. This stuff isn't cheap, but the charge was more than fair for the quick visit and the recharge. Phil had great communication and my a/c is blowing ice cold once again. There was plenty of opportunity to try and pull one over on my other half but that simply isn't what they do. They find the problem and fix the problem without trying to take advantage of the customer. It's difficult to find a company you can trust these days. I'm really glad I did and 100% recommend J&M to anyone needing HVAC service.

He let us know that our 16-year-old system had about a year left, if that much. And was he right. When the system died completely a couple weeks ago, he suggested what we might do given that we had a matched furnace/AC of the same age, gave a quote, and told us about the PECO rebates. Our new AC/furnace system was installed today and it works like a charm. Phil cares about his customers and does great work. He is reliable, responsible, friendly, and an expert at what he does. Will use no one else now that we have Phil and J&M Heating and Cooling!

I had scheduled my day around them coming--they didn't know the employees didn't come to work until 1215? There was no way they could have let me know sooner and respected my time? They asked if I wanted to reschedule for the next day or wait until they knew whether they'd be able to make the appointment I made. Wait, what? After we were told that the replacement part would be $1000 we decided to buy a new one. After a couple of price comparisons, this place knocked every other quote out of the ball park. They went over everything before they left and also respected our floors by putting a cloth on the surface to prevent denting or dirt from tracking.

WARNING: Avoid Air Masters HVAC - Unprofessional…read more Air Masters HVAC is an extremely unprofessional company. They wanted to charge us twice for an estimate that should have been completed during their first visit. The initial diagnosis was left incomplete due to their own oversight, yet they demanded a second fee just to return and finish what they should have done the first time. To make matters worse, after servicing our AC, it began leaking shortly after, and when we contacted them to come back under warranty, they blocked both of our phone numbers--completely cutting off communication instead of standing by their work. Terrible service, poor accountability, and zero professionalism. BEWARE--do not trust this company with your property or your money.

The technician was on-time, extremely professional, friendly and took extra time to explain things in detail and trouble shoot things with us. We were perplexed as to why our electric bill was so high given that this is a 2 year old unit. He truly went above and beyond and probably spent way more time than is allotted for a routine service with us to figure out the problem - turns out the high density air filter we were using was causing the unit to work much harder than it should without moving much air - never would have figured this out without his help.
