The main register where you can rent skates
Biz S.

This ice rink has everything a casual skater could want! No need to go out of your way to buy skates--there is skate rental available for $3/per person. The skates aren't of the highest quality (my boyfriend had to switch his out once), but for the once-a-year skating that most tend to do, they work great. The arena itself is covered on top (which is great in the snowy winter!) but still has the sides open. I love this--it lets me feel like I'm still doing an outdoor winter activity but gives a bit more coverage for the colder times. When you want to take a break from skating there is a lovely fireplace to warm up next to inside of the main building, or there is a nice concession area where you can purchase food and drink. In the main building there are lockers available to store your shoes and other belongings, but they don't actually lock. I've never had an issue with my things being stolen, but I would recommend either carrying your valuables or bringing a lock with you. Overall this is a great winter activity to do for an hour or two! Don't forget to wear tall socks to keep the blisters away :)

Our kids skated here for years. A great place for games or open skate. The ice is well maintained.

Today we attended yet another birthday party here for a daughters' classmate. Here are my…read moreobservations in update.. With the rearranging of the picnic tables, the small party space now seems to be a bit bigger. Upon arrival I was pleased to see it decorated per the parents decorations, so it would appear my last review was taken into account by letting future parties in a few minutes before to decorate. Staff was very polite & helpful. Again, not much has changed in leu of decor. Walls surrounding the skate floor look like they were painted by a toddler. I don't think it would cost the owner much to think of a more aesthetic alternative. Perhaps let artists from the local high school have at it? As for the food.. imagine my surprise when the parents didn't bring their own pizza & instead opted for a dozen 6" mini pizzas from the snack bar. I watched dumbfounded as the staff shuffled the pizzas between two microwaves. Every food item available seems to be nuked, there are no fryers that I see. I ordered my son some mozza stix, they had a really strange taste.. I hope they're not expired or bad. I'll update my review should we get sick later. All in all, the kids had a good time. I think with a few more improvements, this place could be great!

my family was super excited to enjoy a nice evening skating at the park! When we arrived for our…read morereservation, we had to wait and an extremely long line to get skates and onto the ice. when we got to the front of the state line, they failed to mention that they were only giving out men's sizes. So, after standing in extremely long line, we were all giving incorrect sizes because we were unaware of what they had. In addition to that they did not carry large sizes so part of our party was not able to skate. very disappointed

When I found Millennium park and knew it was outdoors, I was beyond excited to keep with tradition. When we went, the weather was a bit on the warm side so there was a little ice melting but that didn't stop us from having a great time! There are concessions here as well that are decently priced. I remember seeing hot chocolate and remembering the good ol' days when it was so cold outside and when your mom told you to come in, she had a hot cup of chocolate waiting. The staff was friendly and were very informative as to the difference in skate types, figure vs. hockey. Parking was pretty accessible and there was plenty of it and free! I would love to go again, and this time, bring on the cold!
