This is a traditional, family friendly rink just like you remember from when you were a kid. Family owned - it's their 44th year in business. Look on their website for hours and rates - do not rely on any app/google searches. Use their site. If you have kids under 12 sign them up for kidsskatefree.com Rollerworld participates and each child gets one free skate pass a week for various sessions - again you check the rollerworld website to see which session it is. This is an awesome program. They host an adult skate 18+ with 70-90s music. I love that skate! They remodeled over the pandemic - new bathrooms and snack bar - and they re did the floor - smooth like butter! Car pool if you can - the lot is smaller! You can bring your own blades or skates. If you clean your stroller wheels you can stroll skate with your little one. You can rent blades or skates. Wear thicker socks if you rent. Lockers are $0.50. Bring 2 quarters to be prepared. I love this rink and I hope you check it out. It's a great sport for the whole family. Plus it's fun.

Large park, well used by the locals. We were here on a Sunday, there was a disc golf tournament,…read morepicnics and in general a lot of people using the park. We stopped by to sneak in a little fishing after an appointment. The lake is very shallow around the shoreline, has a ton of lily pads and we couldnt get any interest from the fish. Most people appeared to be " bucket fishing" for bluegills. We will skip it next time we are in town but it is a nice park.

It really is such a shame that this park doesn't have a beach. We are super fortunate to live on…read moreone of the Portage lakes and have access all the time, but between West, Austin, and Long Lake's parks only Long Lake has a beach (at Ramona Park). Nonetheless, this park has incredible views and offers decent fishing opportunities off of two extended docks, one of which features a large covered gazebo with benches. The playground area here looks legit, and my partner and I always enjoy stopping for a break here when we do a 9-mile cycling route that basically wraps around Austin Lake plus an extra mile each way to access the route from where we live. As with Long Lake, the boat launch is at a completely separate location from the park. Unlike Ramona Park, there is no charge to park at Lakeside Park. We are super excited at the prospect of all the cycling routes in the Vicksburg and Portage area connecting soon. Work got underway on connecting the Vicksburg path into Portage early last year but was halted due to the pandemic. So happy to have a little bit of spring-like weather this week to get out and celebrate all the wonderful natural spaces in our community.

There's also a small trail where you can exercise too. Don't worry, there are a couple of picnic areas for you and your family to bbq and enjoy the serenity of the beautiful lake. Tent-campers review…read more I grew up camping here, and have brought my kids back to make their first camping memories as well. The park is clean, friendly and most of it is well-shaded. The sandy beach is flanked by picnic tables &benches, and a water trampoline is anchored out a ways for the big kids (and adults) to play on. The bath house is large enough, and always kept clean. The showers are coin-operated but I don't mind giving up a quarter to scrub up. There is a little camp store with all your little incidentals, ice, soda and a decent supply of candy for the kids. They have a large park on site, complete with climbing equipment, a basketball court and even a permanent corn-hole area. Now to explain the 4 stars. Everyone at Timber Trails is very friendly and fun loving, but I wish the staff would institute a noise policy after dark. The kids slept fine due to exhaustion but on a few occasions I was kept awake til after midnight (once til 2am) by rowdy parties on the other end of camp. Their cackling and yelling could be heard over the entire park and nothing was done about it. Timber Trails would be great for RV camping (crank up the A/C to drown out the noise), or even a bunch of hard-partying tenters, but we'll be making memories elsewhere from now on.

That's what keeps this place the way it is. Both of my kids grew up here. They are 23 and 15 now and to this day love coming here. The only down fall is the kids camp next door takes up a lot of the lake at times. So if your a boater be careful. The DNR has no tolerance for idiot boaters.
