This place reminds me of a place I went to in college, small, old school decor, very friendly staff, good beer on tap and pizza. Heard that this place ranked #2 for pizza in the suburbs so looked forward to trying it. Ordered a large pizza with lots of toppings and the pizza was okay. It was cooked through but hoped for more of a charred crust. There's good amount of cheese and toppings but not a big fan of the dried out cracker crust or the tomato sauce. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great but I did like the overall experience. Will I go back? Not sure. It's a place I want to love but for now not feeling that vibe. read more

BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA!! This is an old school pizza place. It's been around for decades so it's super causal inside. Service was great but I only do carry out. My family use to pick up there was I was a kid and I have rediscovered it. Keep in mind there are a lot of different types of pizza in the Chicago area. This style is tavern. Very thin and crispy! Joe's pizzeria, I love you guys man! Joe's is hands down, Northside Chicagoland suburb legendary they've been around forever! My wife and I love Joe's. This is our favorite Tavern/thin crust in the NorthShore suburb area. we've been coming here for at least six years now and we've never had a bad experience. very consistent from pizza to service amazing as always got the largest size thin crust cheese pizza always comes out piping hot, cooked to perfection every single time cheese perfect amount the sauce amazing acidic flavorful just the way I like there dough is paper thin with amazing flavor and texture, crisp every piece to the end. Their service is always amazing. The guys at the front that worked the window are awesome. For all you sausage fans Joe's makes in house sausage and it taste amazing Chicago style seasoned sausage, phenomenal highly recommend, pairs so good with Giardiniera. The servers are always happy to serve you and amazing. Joe's is pretty small restaurant with a couple tables and chairs. They do have parking lot and a beautiful marquee Joe's pizza sign outside which I think is awesome. Gives it that old school look. 100% Recommend! read more

I really wanted to love this Pizza. I have been waiting almost seven months for a chance to Try Joe's Pizzeria. The good: Joe's Pizza is very good pizza when hot. The ambiance is about as old school Chicago pizza joint as you will find in Chicagoland anymore. From the RC Cola to the pizza in the paper bag to the owner of the establishment making you feel welcome. Kudos for the ambiance. One of the great things about a tavern style pizza is that they are typically good to excellent to eat cold. Personally I like cold pizza almost as much or maybe more than hot depending on the pie. Unfortunately this pizza was not a good pizza to be eaten cold. read more

If you want consistent good thin crust pizza and some quick service Joe's is a great place to stop by. I'll usually order this on my way home occasionally and they have it ready within 15-20 minutes which is always a great standard. They also have a bowling alley nearby that I've seen people come by to get pizza and take back to bowl. The other thing I consistently get are the mild wings I love these versions because they have a dry seasoning that lets you really feel the crunch. See you next time you wonderful people. read more

I've been coming here for so long that my last review was 10 years ago! I have been a regular customer for much longer than that though. My old review mentioned the very small dated dining area, well that has been remodeled (its still small but new) and they added a tiny bar. So now when I order my pizza for take out, I go early and have a beer while waiting for my hot out of the oven kick ass pizza! I like they're burgers too. They are the skinny patties so a double is called for and they also make a mean Antipasto salad. Theres a full menu of appetizers, pasta, ribs, shrimp & fish and sandwiches to satisfy most any craving but make no mistake, the thin pizza is the king here. Back in the day we have been known to go bowling at the end of the strip at Jeffery Lanes and bring in a Joes Pizza. Bowling, cold beer and pizza! Life is good :) read more

When I was a little kid we used to drive past this place all the time and the old neon sign stuck in my head. So after I obtained my driver's license and was heading out with high school buddies, I insisted on going to Joe's. It looks like nothing fancy from the outside, just an old pizza place downstairs from some old apartment buildings on Wolf Road. But if that's all you see and d code to skip it,you're really missing out because they're one of the best pizza joints in the Chicago area. Go for the thin tavern style, sausage, mushroom and fresh garlic. Fresh ingredients, really good crust, and most importantly not an overly sweet tomato sauce. 16 year old me loved it as much as 47 year old me does to this day. So that's 31 years of business I've been giving them, though not nearly as often in recent years as I live 40 minutes away. They have a smallish dine in area that used to be pretty old and funky with a jukebox that worked "sometimes". It looks like in recent years they renovated it and it's new and has a small bar with a couple taps. Just go! read more

This use to be my favorite pizza place till they changed their recipe. Now, instead of a slightly greasy pizza with a good amount of toppings and a crispy crust, You get a cheap, skimpy topping pizza with a lifeless cardboard crust. Do yourself a favor and go to Nino's or Lou's and save the disappointment from this. read more

We ordered pizza after hearing so many rave reviews about it from others. I will admit that the pizza was very good...we got spinach and pepperoni...with a nice thin crunchy crust and very flavorful sauce! However, stars get dropped for the way carry out pizza is presented. Pizza is on a cardboard disc and then shoved into a paper bag. I don't like this method at all, because I wouldn't want the risk of greasy pizza stains leaking through the bag and onto my car seat. I can't imagine anyone ordering multiple pizzas for a party or something and just getting a stack of greasy bags. As good as the pizza is, I wouldn't order from here again. Hands down the best tavern style pizza in the area. The sauce is tangy and flavorful, the cheese is cooked to perfection, and the crust has the perfect crunch. I highly recommend trying the sausage pizza, it's my favorite! The pizzas are hand tossed in the back of this hole in the wall joint. Don't be discouraged by the looked on the outside. This is a pretty basic thin crust pizza that is sometimes served in a bag instead of a box. The flavors are anything but basic! The crust is not too crunchy but not soggy, but the sauce is where it is at! The sauce has robust and savory flavors and makes the whole pizza! I ordered a large pepperoni thin crust pizza for takeout one night. When I got home the pizza had cooled off a little so i put it back in the oven to heat up. Once it was hot, I had some and it was good, but I dont think it was worth it. The pizza crust had a nice crunch and the sauce was tasty. The pizza was phenomenal. We ordered for takeout one cheese pizza for the kids and a double dough pizza with a bunch of toppings for us. It was amazing! The only down side was it was a bit pricy for 2 small pizzas-but then again everything is expensive these days. And I should say we put 5 toppings on ours which adds up. But I'd gladly pay it again! I have driven by this place so many times. Never realized the gem that was inside . Ordered a sausage pizza . It smelled awesome cooking. I started with one piece and than another and another . Before you knew the pizza was gone. I was so close to getting another but had no room in the belly. The thin crust , the sauce and the sausage pieces combined to make a fantastic tasting pizza.
