Best pizza I could've asked for. The atmosphere's nothing to write home about but the food was a highlight of the trip.

Simple gas station just wish the pumps didn't close before 11 at night. That's the only gas station close to curtice I know of.

This is the best place to get Lake Erie perch. You can even get 1 pound of it or a 1/2 pound.

Everything is home made, never frozen dough, fresh sauce and ingredients. I've found this spot and I love that you can taste the quality in every bite. The cheese tastes fresh and not too overwhelming, the pizza itself isn't floppy or greasy. It's everything you could want from a local spot. Great pizza, great daily deals and a vast menu of delicious items to choose from. The only thing that would escalate the experience is a dine in experience. Skip going to the overpriced, overproduced pizza chains. Stop at a real local pizzeria with great flavor and real ingredients at a better price.

The toppings are just... Somehow not right. I got sausage, onions, and peppers, and they were all very strange. The sausage is made in house, but the flavors aren't right for pizza sausage. The onions were too sweet, maybe? The green peppers were probably fine but somehow clashed with the onion and sausage. This may have been a cheese problem, because honestly whatever cheese they are using isn't very good. I feel bad leaving a negative review for a local small business, but with all the rave reviews I had high hopes, and this place was almost a total bust.

Unfortunately, the overall dining experience didn't live up to the atmosphere. Service started off well but became increasingly slow and disjointed throughout the meal. There appeared to be plenty of staff, yet several things had to be requested more than once. We also weren't offered dessert or coffee and had to ask. When coffee eventually arrived, it was barely warm. The food was very hit or miss. The side salad with white balsamic dressing was delicious, and the olive tapenade was good, although the bread was surprisingly dry. The vodka sauce had great flavor but was extremely oily. We appreciated that the pasta is made in house, but unfortunately several pasta dishes were noticeably overcooked. Some of the chicken was dry and underseasoned, and the red sauce had a somewhat processed or jarred flavor. The pizza was decent but nothing particularly memorable. There were also some issues with special requests not being followed, and rather than correcting one of the meals, a discount was offered instead. Overall, several people at the table were disappointed with their food. The restaurant has a great location, unique decor and some genuinely good flavors, but the inconsistent food and service overshadowed the positives during our visit. Hopefully it was just an off night, but based on this experience, we would not return.

I still find the retro historic ambiance charming- with its over-the-top velvet wallpaper, ornate chandeliers, and white tablecloths on each table. I don't believe any decor changes have been made over the decades. It's part of the restaurant's signature charm and I love it. It was a rather hot and humid day in Michigan and I immediately noticed that the AC wasn't keeping up with the heat. Still, it wasn't overly uncomfortable. Even with a 6pm reservation, the restaurant was very crowded, so I attributed the heat to the crowd and some of the sizzling plates, in addition to lack of adequate AC. . Our server greeted us promptly and told us about the specials of the night. She took our drink orders and came back to take our food orders. My friend ordered filet mignon with a baked potato, with a beef vegetable soup. I ordered the Halibut Special, broiled in butter with shiitake mushrooms and a baked potato plus a side of steamed asparagus to share. While awaiting our orders, we were served exactly two pieces of bread ("dirty bread"?!) and a basket of bread or pretzel sticks. The bread wasn't even warm and I didn't eat it further after one bite. That was okay because I was saving myself for the entree'. When our entrees arrived, they looked appetizing. Upon taking a bite of my Halibut, however,I was underwhelmed. It wasn't horrible in any way but didn't impress me as anything amazing or crave-worthy. The asparagus, imo, should have had the stalks cut down further to cut off the yellow parts of the bottoms. It was a decent sized portion though. My friend's filet mignon was "good" according to her, though no further enthusiasm. It was a pleasant enough dinner though it was rather loud and difficult to converse at times. Our server was polite, pleasant and efficient. Upon being served the check, (I was treating for my friend's birthday), I glanced at it but didn't study it. Later, I was surprised to see a petty surcharge of .50 each for sour cream for the two baked potatoes that were included in the entrees. There was also an upcharge I didn't recognize for some type of cheese? I just don't like being nickled and dimed, so it irritated me. I left the restaurant thinking that I wouldn't hurry back and that I would order a pasta dish. However, it's definitely worth checking out for the experience if you haven't tried this spot. It's very close to Toledo and there's plenty of free parking. Check out pics below!
