This place was nothing to look at on the outside and the inside was just as bad. We saw reviews on here and thought it'd be amazing. What we hoped for was a decent lunch. What we received was a hamburger and chicken sandwich, both of which came from the freezer. I essentially had a chicken patty and my boyfriend had a hamburger from a package. We were thoroughly disappointed in the quality of the food. The server was very nice though, that's worth the star. We were in Abilene for a couple of days visiting all of the historical sites. I read the reviews for this place, and we decided to give it a try for breakfast. Definitely not on the main path. There is a small sign on Buckeye to know where to turn. The sign says "Nothing fancy, just good food" and that is exactly right. Non-descript outside, but inside is bright and clean and welcoming. I had a western omelet and my SO had the all-American breakfast. Both were delicious and filling. We spied someone having a delicious-looking cinnamon roll after we were stuffed, so we went back the next day. We each had a half order of B&G with a side of bacon. We ordered the bacon crisp and it was perfect. Very crisp without a hint of burnt. The homemade cinnamon rolls are not on the regular menu, you have to ask, but they have them, and they are huge and delicious! Not sure what Merrideth was smoking but Joe's was as advertised by the other reviews and other locals. Salads are huge so definitely ask about a half unless you're really hungry. Burgers are huge as well and the onion rings are very tasty. Service is fast and the people working are hometown nice. Don't pass this place up because of its location and decor. What a find! Fast, friendly service, and FULL of customers! We fortunately grabbed the last table available. My dad's pork chops, smoked on site, were cooked perfectly, and the salads my mom and I ordered were fresh, and huge, even though they were half sizes! Best part was the homemade peanut butter pie - rich, smooth, creamy, and topped with tons of Reece's Pieces! This place is the real small town deal. Don't forget to grab a souvenir shirt! Great unique small town atmosphere a few blocks from the Eisenhower library. The restaurant is quite a bit larger inside than it appears from the outside. I had the daily special, which was a pork cutlet, flattened, seasoned and fried with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was very hot and tasty. The side salad was very good. My wife had the brisket, which was very good especially at the price. The prices were very reasonable. We fed three for about $10 each and had leftovers. Our waiter was young but very friendly and had great advice about the menu and the community. Would definitely recommend. read more

My husband and I stopped in to this particular restaurant because we saw the billboard on the highway and we were passing through and I also read good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing customer service we received. My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich and I ordered the fried chicken dinner and we were very happy with our food. We are so tired of chain restaurants so this was a nice change, a small town diner type of feel. Despite being stuffed, we decided to go with some dessert and that was probably the best chocolate cream pie we ever ate... We ended up getting an extra slice:) I think besides the food I was most impressed with the customer service... Our waiter was a very young man but was super attentive, knowledgeable, and very personable. At one time or another during our visit I believe it was the manager stopped to ask us how everything was and we made it a point to let her know that we were impressed. We were passing through Abilene and spent the night in a campground nearby. We decided to eat out instead of cooking in the RV and after looking at the reviews we decided on Joe Snuffy's. I ordered the grilled barbecue chicken with pineapple which came with a salad and 2 sides. I felt like the chicken wasn't done and I didn't taste anything barbecue. The salad was ok, peas were overcooked from a can. The baked potato was decent as well as the giant roll that looked homemade. My husband ordered chicken tenders with tater tots and peas. The chicken tenders were obvious frozen "tv dinner" type....horrible. I wouldn't waste my money going back, I should have stayed home and cooked! read more

We yelled this place while we were going to Abilene to go on the trains. At first glance there is nothing to be impressed about. Same thing once you walked in the door. Other then that this place is really good. The food was amazing, and reasonably priced. Their pancakes were about 10inches and well priced at $3 a piece. I myself had the All-American with two eggs, hashbrowns, my choice of meat and toast. This was really good and again reasonable priced. For two adults, and two children came to $26. If this was a cracker barrel or ihop this would of been closer to 40 or more dollars. I will definitely go back to this place when I go back to Abilene. read more

What a wonderful place! Made it a point to go to the Eisenhower Museum from Kanas City (2.5 hours or so). Looking for a local eatery posted on a billboard and saw Joe Snuffy's. Great place. Clean. Nicest young man ever to wait on us. Chicken fried chicken, salad, roll and REAL butter, mashed potatoes and white gravy and to top it off, mac 'n cheese.
