Don't have a lot of faith in this BK. Hasn't ever been good. Usually just mediocre. But all I ordered was CinnaMinis. How bad could they be? The answer is - very bad. 30 minutes to get 1 burger in the drive through with only 2 people ahead of us to start. The car in front of us had been waiting most of that time. Fortunately the car behind us gave up and left which gave us space to back out so that I could go inside. My burger was ready! And already cold! Why would they not have asked the car at the front to pull over and park so that they could serve the people who had food prepared and waiting? This place has gone downhill since my initial review. Staffing seems the biggest issue I can see with only 2-3 people working at any given time. The a/c has a lot of trouble keeping the place cool which in all honestly might be from the play place in front letting air from the outside in. I don't think kids even play in it anymore and really should be removed. The interior is not in good shape anymore either. I don't fault the people who work there as I figure between corporate not caring as much as they should and no one wanting to work so they could staff better, they can only do so much. I usually visit the BK in my home town and the service and food there is usually acceptable, but it's "just" fast food, right? On a scale of 1-5, the freshness rating of the food I order at that location is usually a 3 or 4. But today I was on the road and stopped at the BK in Abilene, ordered a couple of regular cheeseburgers and fries. The person at the counter taking orders was very professional, courteous, and efficient. The food came out fast, and I got just what I ordered, but the real shocker was how fresh the burgers and fries were. Much better than I usually expect from BK. Fresh soft buns, the burgers were hot and juicy, and the fries had to have come out of the fry vat less than a minute before they served them to me. There are limited dining options in Abilene on a Monday evening at 8:30. A number of restaurants are closed on Monday and some others close by 8:30. So, when cruising the main drag looking for fast food, we spotted this BK. AND, my wife had a bunch of BK coupons, so we pulled in. As we parked, I realized that I had been in this restaurant about a year ago and gave it a 1-star rating due to a generally dirty appearance of both the restaurant and the restrooms. We did eat here last time and the food was fine. So, I decided to give it another try. The restaurant still looked a bit dingy and the exterior of the building still needs repairs but at least the floor was dry this time. We walked in and no one acknowledged our presence. We stood at the counter for several minutes before deciding to walk out. Still, no one acknowledged that we were there. I even checked the D/U to see if they were busy with customers there but there were no vehicles at the d/u either. So, no customers at the d/u and no one in the lobby except for us and no service. 5 stars for the staff, deals, and food. The young girl that helped us was very kind. Another patron yelled at her and it was really uncomfortable to watch. I went here to try the impossible whopper. It can be vegan if you get it without cheese and without mayo. It was good. It was actually very good and tasted a lot like meat; so much so that I had to look at it a few times to convince myself that it really was the impossible burger and not a real burger. I liked it. It was a nice fast food option for vegans. The service was good. Place was clean. read more

Good food made hot! Really friendly staff who genuinely cared about what they were doing. It was a fast stop and well worth it.

This building is quite nice and looks brand new. There was at least one good-sized TV in the dining area, and all the booths looked like they were new and hardly used. There is a kid's play area, but we were not able to use it due to our own time constraints. The bathroom is huge, but there's only one commode in it. It was a little awkward when we first walked in there. The employees were nice, and our food was hot and fresh. They need to have better signage about the dining room hours, as the windows appeared to be tinted and there were no hours posted. We pulled the door and got lucky that it opened. Would never eat at Burger King again. The floor was sticky and the place seemed dark and unclean. Wasn't confident the food was fresh as advertised. I only purchased a small hamburger and iced tea. Not much in the way of nutrition either. Cross that one off the list for good. read more

Went through the drive through, the women was rude and stated, that there was no need to be rude. We were not being rude at all. The last time we ate here it was awful...the worst food I've ever had at a BK. The Whoppers and fries were old. They tasted like they had been under the warmer for quite some time. The workers were friendly but did as little work as possible. The manager was refilling the drink machine and left a mess on the counter and floor. The machine itself was filthy with dried, sticky stuff all over the dispenser spout. We were the ONLY customers (2 of us). There was no excuse for the filth. As we were eating, it sounded like the staff was having a party. I live in Abilene and have eaten here many times. The food is usually fresh and good. The staff has been questionable and there is a huge turnover frequently...even managerial staff. I am embarrassed to have this restaurant in my town. read more

Flight was delayed and I got into Kansas City late. By the time I arrived in Abilene most of the other fast food restaurants had closed for the evening. Found the Burger King drive-thru open late with fast and friendly service. read more
