This is always a good thing. They serve breakfast all day, numerous burgers, sandwiches, and various plates. We ordered the reuben and BLT sandwiches and the catfish plate with mac n cheese. The veggie of the day was green beans. Everything was good except for the mac n cheese, which didn't taste very fresh -- you can tell the pasta and cheese had become coagulated. It wasn't creamy cheesy as good quality mac n cheese should be. Wasn't even homemade. And the green beans? Straight from the can! It was mushy and bland. Who wants to eat soggy green beans?! This was rather disappointing. Service was straightforward. Free parking in their small lot but also ample street parking.

On a scale of 1-5, the freshness rating of the food I order at that location is usually a 3 or 4. But today I was on the road and stopped at the BK in Abilene, ordered a couple of regular cheeseburgers and fries. The person at the counter taking orders was very professional, courteous, and efficient. The food came out fast, and I got just what I ordered, but the real shocker was how fresh the burgers and fries were. Much better than I usually expect from BK. Fresh soft buns, the burgers were hot and juicy, and the fries had to have come out of the fry vat less than a minute before they served them to me. As fast food goes, that was a real treat!

The worst part is you usually get it through the drive-through and are a few miles down the road before you open it up, making it not worth it to turn around and bring it back. My hash browns were brown and crispy all the way through (no soft potato center... just fully crispy brown all the way to the centermost part); my McMuffin's English muffin may have been microwaved a few times ... absolutely inedible; it was so hard and seriously could not get my teeth through it.
