Apparently I have rather obscure dental insurance, and had called literally 40 practices all around the valley to find a good Endodontist for a root canal. As if the root canal itself isn't stress-producing enough, none of the 40 practices I contacted would take my insurance --- until I was referred to call Canyon Lakes Dental Group and spoke with the wonderful Holly! Holly didn't just dismiss me, she actually did the research to find out the specifics of my coverage, and confirmed that Canyon Lakes does accept it. But, unfortunately their root canal guy wasn't going to be back in the office for about a week, and a root canal isn't something that can wait, so she referred me to another practice. Then, believe it or not, she actually called them to find out if they accept my insurance plan (and she knew the lingo to use so they'd understand right away if they can accept it). She confirmed that they did, and when I called them they knew who I was and were able to get me in the next couple days! Wow, that's amazing service. This office was the first office I had been in many years that were actually honest feeling, genuine & didn't nickel & dime you. I go to get my teeth cleaned like clockwork every 6 months. I always water pik &/or floss. Suddenly a new hygienist is mine for the appointment, my regular girl wasn't available, & now I need an expensive "deep cleaning". I asked, can you just clean my teeth like normal & I will watch & focus more on the area of concern, NO she says. Really???? It's very unfortunate that Allison is the new face of Canyon Lakes Dental Group. Dr. Nassar is my favorite dentist, the front office staff is amazing, especially Debbie. But when it comes to pressure sales, that's not my style. I have friends that have been in the dental field & have told me that they have numbers to meet in sales monthly & if you don't upsell services you get let go. It's very sad. If you are going to this office, request someone other than Allison unless you have several hundred extra dollars to blow.

The prices for cleanings and fillings are rough any time are still affordable for someone without dental health care. The first few times were hard receiving bad unexpected news so my anxiety was higher (cried more, so sorry ha) but today was better-ish knowing Jenna and DDS Martin are who I'd be engaging with. I had to go in recently to fix a few things.. I was treated with the greatest of care from Jenna as she distracted me with her cute life stories and helpful coping techniques. DDS Martin has been honest, knowledgeable and compassionate through my visits. I'm thankful to the team for being nice. They tell you what will happen and keep you informed. I appreciate that since I'm an overthinker. The straight facts and a resolution are the best, so thank you. The gals at the front desk are superb too.
