We purchased our Goodman heater from Joe Major Air just before Christmas in 2019. In November 2021 a part broke which was on back order until July 2022, first Christmas (and winter) with no heat. We got the new part installed this summer and were sure this winter would go better. However now a second part went bad on the unit in November 2022, second Christmas (and winter) with no heat. I don't understand how a unit which is only a few years old could have this many problems. We have to keep contacting them for a solution and it seems we are at the bottom of the list. Used Joe Major twice, and both times service was professional, quick, and affordable. Feb 2018 our heater stoped working one evening. Cold night, in the morning I called an other place that never showed up! So around 4pm I called joe major and explained what happened (begging them to please come look at least) fortunately it worked. My old Lennox AC crapped out and I called Joe and he came out the next day. He quickly diagnosed the problem and it was a bad capacitor. He had it up and running in 5 minutes. Why am I giving him two stars? First he charges a $85 service charge. I don't mind the fee what I am upset is that he charged me $265 to replace a $25 capacitor. When I asked him why it was so much he said that's what the office charges. Funny because he had the check made out to himself. I needed my AC fixed due to my baby so without thinking I just paid him. In hind sight I should have just paid him the service fee and went to home depot to install it myself. I get it's a business but he doesn't offer a receipt or warranty for service. ___________________________________________________________________________ * Update* After reading my original review, Frank the owner contacted me to listen to my concerns. We spoke about pricing and that he felt bad I felt cheated and the charge to replace a inexpensive capacitor is average in pricing for this type of service in the industry. To be honest, I have no idea if it is or not. But Frank did offer to refund me a portion of the fee in cash and extend my warranty and in a few days Joe came back and gave me cash in person and an apology if it seemed he was rude. Frank also emailed me a receipt and gave me a follow up call to make sure I was satisfied. Still, for 10 minutes of work and the relative inexpensive cost of the part I feel the fee is still quite high but at least my AC works for now. Original review was 2 stars. Now 3. 1 for showing up relatively quickly, 2 for fixing the problem, 3 for refunding me a small portion of the original $265. read more

Super helpful. Super professional. Great service. My heater hasn't been working properly for a year now. We had another person before to come out to help us fix it but they never came close to a solution. Here are the facts: I called them on a Tuesday and left a voicemail. Ruby called me back 30 minutes later and scheduled for Thursday for a 4pm meeting. They did not show up Thursday. Apparently because at 3:30pm they were in Diamond Bar. I live downtown. Not smart planning folks. So we rescheduled for the following day, Friday, at 3pm. When 3:10 rolls around with no word, I call Ruby, she says she will call me back in "5-10" minutes. Then 25 minutes roll on by, I have to call HER back, and then no one picks up. Eventually at 3:44pm she calls me and, without saying sorry, simply says "the guys won't be able to make it out today". "Why do business with you?" I ask. She doesn't miss a beat and replies, "You can definitely do business with us." Hahaha......no. Seriously, you've waste two of my days, given appointments you could never keep, and you didn't even blink an eye and apologize (which tells me rescheduling happens often). Is she a waste of time to talk to? Yes. Is Joe Major Air Conditioning a waste of time? Yes. If you want to get stuck with an extra weekend of high temperatures in SoCal without AC, call them. If you want someone you can count on being on time, definitely go elsewhere. read more

Amazing service! What seemed like out of the blue our AC quit blowing cold air. I checked the unit outside and the unit fan was running, but the compressor was not. This was BIG trouble as the temp outside was predicted to hit 106 the next day. At 8:00 am (opening time) j called and was able to schedule a same day service appt. I thought I would need a new compressor, but no - the honest Joe major's air tech said it WS just the capacitor. The service rep is rude and never there to assist when you need them. He was upset because my AC wasn't working and I text him at around 8 pm which is the time I got home. Pretty disappointed with his service or lack of. He also said he would charge 125 dollars to come analyze the problem after I purchased a new unit from him. I am calling someone else. read more

Fantastic service. A/C went out late Friday night. This is the long Labor Day weekend with extreme temperatures . Called many Companies and left messages Friday and Saturday but Tuesday or later was only thing available. After thinking we would have to endure this until the following week. I found Joe Major Air Conditioning from Yelp. Joe was out in the field and said he would try to swing by. Came within four hours and we have cold-Air now. I called to get a leak checked on my AC rooftop unit. Frank, who said he was the owner, said the leak was normal but that he would return on Saturday morning to reroute the water drip. He told me he would do the work and that it would not cost much more than the $85 inspection fee which would be applied to the repair. He collected an $85 fee without inspecting the unit and without getting on the roof. He never gave me a receipt but I trusted that he would show up like he promised, but he never showed up again; It's been over a month. Upon further inspection, it turns out my AC had other problems which were easy to find if he would have actually inspected it by getting on the roof. In the end, I threw away $85, never got a proper inspection, and waited for a return visit which never came from this company. read more

Frank, the ONLY reason you walked out with $160 was because she told you that was all she had. You ATTEMPTED to charge her $260 for a hose replacement, install of a carbon monoxide device and now you are adding that you changed the batteries of her smoke detector, which was installed 6 months prior??? I don't understand how that would justify the outrageous fee of $260.... Like with our phone conversation, you are attempting to play this down as if it were okay, it's not okay. You also told her that the heater was old and not in working condition when she knew it was less than a year old. She may be fragile, but she's not a complete idiot as you might have thought. My goal with posting my review of your services was to warn people not to trust you alone with someone who is in a fragile and vulnerable stage in their life. Clearly you took advantage of her, you are not a man of integrity and my goal is to warn people about you. A true professional would rely on his work and not try to cheat people. read more

I called Joe Major after our companies AC unit stopped working, they arrived and checked out our unit and let us know the compressor as no longer working. They advised us to replace the whole AC unit as it was very old and worn. They arrived on time and where very polite and provided us with a quote for a full replacement. At the end of the day we decided to go with a different company for the full replacement but I would still recommend Joe's based on their service and knowledge. read more

I love Joe Major. I've used them three times, or I should say I have used Vincent three times. The first time, my AC was broken AGAIN and he explained exactly what was going on and fixed it, after having several other AC companies come and do some sort of song-and-dance and not fix anything (Although my ex hired them so for all I know he picked them up at Home Depot). The second time, air down again (the unit needs to be replaced but I can't swing it now). Vincent made time for it (it's always an emergency with me) and showed up promptly. The third time, I had him check three appliances and he gave me the straight scoop (not worth fixing) and charged me fairly for the thing he did fix. I always feel as if I am being told the truth and Vincent is willing to explain everything, so I would recommend Joe Major to anyone. I would tell Vincent to get a better phone system, since I did leave a message and he didn't get it. That has nothing to do with his ability to fix appliances, though. read more
