This review is long overdue. I see Joe every 4-6 weeks for a 90 min massage since late 2014/early 2015. I would go more frequently if my wallet agreed, but this was one of the few things that I would not cut out of my budget for several reasons. Since 2012-ish, I've made it a point to get fairly regular massages, so I've been to a lot of different places between NJ, NY, SF, and now the north bay. When I first moved to Petaluma in summer 2014, I went to pretty much every massage place/person I could find that had fairly reasonable prices between Novato and Santa Rosa, even Sebastopol and Guernville and Joe was the best. As someone who loves to workout (mostly Crossfit, OTF, reformer Pilates, and kickboxing), my muscles are constantly sore. Joe was the only one who was able to get the knot under my right shoulder out after several visits (it had been building up for years and no one else was able to loosen it up as much in repeat visits before). He also stretches out my IT bands every other visit or whenever I need the extra stretch. I also get terribly migraines with visual auras for most of the month. His scalp/head massage actually gets rid of the auras faster than my prescription medicine and keep them gone for a while too. His rates are really reasonable and he's super kind and friendly to boot. When I'm in a chatty mood, he's great at keeping me preoccupied when stretching out some terrible knots or my IT bands, but when I just feel like relaxing, he doesn't ruin the mood by talking too much like some other massages I've had. Go to Joe, you won't regret it. read more

I'm a 64 year old metal fabricator that abused my body over the decades but was skeptical about any improvements that may come from having a massage however I needed to do something after a nasty fall. I can tell that after a one hour treatment I could not only walk better but of all things my sense of smell improved immensely, it was like night and day! that was not even in my thoughts as a improvement to want! I will be going back to Joe soon! read more

Joe is amazing. I have had tons of bodywork done in my life but hands down best massage was today with Joe. I suffer from chronic migraines, TMJ and neck/shoulder pain. Went into today with awful headache, neck pain and sinus pressure. Came out floating on cloud 9, no pain at all. So professional, so warm and I loved how consent forward he was with his approach. "It's your massage, you have a say about it." I don't live in Petaluma but I'll make sure to stop by every time I come to town. Thank you! read more

I had a 1 1/2 hour massage with Joe. He was amazing. I have a lot of pain in my shoulder blades, neck, and arms. He released a lot of tension. I have gotten a lot of massages in the last five years, and he used a lot of techniques on me that I have not had before. He is very skilled. What I also liked about him was that he was able to massage every part of my body in the hour and a half. Many many times I have gone to a session and the therapist are not able to get to the entire body. They miss the arms or the feet. He got to everything. I really loved that. He was super professional. He was also willing to accommodate my schedule which I really appreciated. As far as Covid goes he followed all precautions. I will definitely go back. If you go to him, try the 90 minutes. You won't regret it. read more

Fantastic masseuse! Went in feeling stiff and tight and left being able to turn my head side to side without hesitation or pain and my shoulders are also pain free and loose. Joe is comfortable and professional. Highly recommend! read more

I am a triathalete, and have been needing a full body massage for a while. Joe is a very talented massage therapist who is communicative, intuitive, and got out knots I didn't realize I even had. I really like deep tissue, and Joe knows what he's doing and has many techniques, but also encourages you to communicate (if you'd like deeper or lighter) since no one reads minds. This put me at ease since I can sometimes be shy to direct my massage therapist. I heard about him at Petaluma Community Acupuncture, and had a lovely experience. Comfortable room in a chiropractic office with easy parking. The half-off deal for first time clients ($50 for 90 minutes) is unbelievable, and I will be a happy return customer for full price. read more

I can not say enough good things about Joe. He is extremely talented. I first saw him for prenatal work. It was such a relief. Finally someone who was not afraid to touch a pregnant woman. He is really in tune with the right kind of pressure as well as giving you the right kind of mental relaxation as well. I think his type of massage would work well for various types of people- deep pressure or not. I now see him for non-prenatal massage and he is a god send! In my younger years, I was a competitive athlete, so I have had the pleasure of getting tons of massages in my life. It doesn't get better than this! read more

I couldn't rate him any higher but he deserves another star. My regular masseuse wasn't available, so I decided to try a masseur for a change, as I was suffering from what I call "computer neck, back and shoulders." Glad I found Joe -- just 2 miles down the road from me -- and he made my aches and pains a thing of the past. Easy parking (lot and street) and he's friendly, effective and professional. Now I'll be torn between my two choices. Oh well. I'll just alternate. I recommend Joe Lin very hightly. read more

Joe Linn is such a fantastic person!! I've been coming to Joe for almost 6 months now and I couldn't be happier with everything he's done for me!! He delivers fantastic patient care and is great at what he does. I highly recommend him and I'm thrilled to have found him! read more

This is my Bay Area spot, but although I've been coming here for years, I don't come often since I live across a bridge in another county. I found this place 4-5 years ago on a Social Living or Groupon voucher (I forget now), and still haven't found any other place or trust anyone closer to home. Joe is intuitive and will find the knots and tension spots that you may not even know about. Last time I went was a couple months ago, and he found tension in my neck that I didn't know was there. And with my hay fever at the time, he gave a cranio which I was skeptical at first, but a believer by the end of my session. My first session, he "popped the bubbles" out of the muscles underneath my shoulder blades. It was an amazing experience. His massages are better than any fancy-decorated location I've seen in the Bay. read more

Joe is great! I have received many massages in my life, and I always keep going back to Joe. He's my one and only now! He listens to you if he is massaging too light or too deep, and you end up with a massage that's just perfect. I've been going to him for years! You're missing out if you don't call him up for a massage! :) read more

I purchased a LivingSocial deal on a whim for Joe Linn, and it was a highly positive experience from start to finish. He was extremely accommodating with scheduling and even a last minute cancellation. As for the massage itself, he was very skillful in utilizing deep pressure to relieve the intense stress in my shoulders and upper back, and I continue to feel the benefits 3 weeks after the massage. In essence, I would highly recommend Joe for men or women alike, and I would gladly return to him when I have a chance to make the long but worthwhile drive from the East Bay to Petaluma. read more

I went to Joe Linn for a prenatal massage yesterday. WOW. He's extremely talented as a massage therapist. I'm so excited to have found not only a massage therapist- but one that is skilled as a prenatal massage therapist- which is hard to find. Dreaming of my next appt already! read more

I found Joe through Groupon about two years ago and loved his massages so much that I now schedule a massage with him every month. He is professional, highly skilled, and has a calming presence which allows for the ultimate relaxation during his massages. I love that Joe asks each time I visit if there are any trouble spots that need extra attention and is always quick to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. His facility is clean, neat and inviting and he has a heat blanket available if you need a little extra warmth. I look forward to my massages with Joe and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for strong and healing hands. read more

I religiously get bi-monthly massages. I was very sad that my masseuse had to retire, which meant me looking for a new one. My daughter recommended Joe Linn, but due to the fact that I only had woman masseuses, I was a bit hesitant. I decided to try him out. I now get a 90 minute massage every two weeks. Joe is a total professional, he has a calming, relaxing quality and can find my troubled spots quickly. Love him! read more

I purchased a living social deal and went to see Joe Linn for the first time on Saturday. I had an exceptionally wonderful massage. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and communicative. He made me feel comfortable right from the beginning and he checked in with me often throughout the massage. After the massage, he gave me some good tips for my trouble spots. I will definitely be going back to Joe Linn. If you are looking for a talented massage therapist in Petaluma, I definitely recommend him. read more

If you are looking for a great massage, look no further. Joe Linn is an outstanding massage therapist; intuitive, caring and highly skilled in his practice. My husband and I have both found Joe Linn to be the very best among the best of massage therapists. He has helped us so much. Besides that, he's just a great human being! read more

I contacted Joe to help with a sore lower back and tight upper back. Joe was able to get me in for an appointment the very next day. The massage was the best I had ever experienced. Joe helped relieve pressure from my lower back using stretches as well as massaged knots in tighter parts of my back. I left feeling relaxed and relieved, as leaving a massage should feel. I would recommend Joe Linn Massage to anyone, whether looking for a relaxing experience or looking to work out problem areas. You won't be disappointed! read more

I am so happy to have found Joe's massage practice! I have been a client of Joe's for about two years now and I always look forward to my appointment each month. Joe makes every effort to make me feel welcome and comfortable when I arrive, and responds to my needs about what is sore or tight that day. Even when I don't have a specific area for him to focus on I feel leaving relaxed and rejuvenated. Joe has numerous certifications that he keeps up to date. He is a talented masseur and a wonderful person, too! I highly recommend making an appointment with Joe -- there's really no way you will regret it. read more

I recently moved out of the area. I know I'll miss Joe's massages. He is a natural, even though it's obvious he's well educated in his craft. The combination is sublime. I highly recommend making his massages a regular treat to yourself. read more

Just got a hour massage from Joe Linn. He did a awesome job. This was the first time i had a man give me a massage and will be the last time i have a woman massage me.( no offense to women massage therapists) He had the strong hands I've been searching for, really concentrated on the areas i was having pain, and we had some great conversation ( and yes i like to talk while getting a massage ). Upon leaving i booked another massage. I was very satisfied Great job Joe! Will defiantly be a new customer. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for an hour massage with Joe Linn last week. I called this morning and asked if he could possibly squeeze me in later in the day. He happily accomodated my desired time and told me everything I needed to know for our session, which was great because I have a hard time scheduling massages in advance and prefer to have them in times of high need if possible. Upon arriving at the Chiropractic office where he does massage, I found Joe to be very warm and welcoming. He told me, "this is your session," so please let him know about pressure, areas of pain, etc. I asked for hard pressure and he got it just perfect (and checked in several times to make sure). I found him to be intuitive and effective. Even though he was working hard on my trouble areas, I still found myself incredibly relaxed and even fell asleep for a few minutes. All in all, Joe gave me one of the best massages I have ever had (and I have had quite a few from different practitioners all over the world)! I will be recommending him to my friends and strongly recommend him to you! read more

Joe is amazing and gave me the best massage I have ever had. I'm new to the area so I've been trying groupons to find places to go that offer good deals. I have found a lot of mediocre places and then some really bad ones. Joe's regular prices are excellent, even without the groupon and he has a chiropractor in his office, that I plan to check out. read more

Joe is a wonderful massage therapist and lovely man. His office is conveniently located and he is always punctual. There is occasionally hallway noise from the neighboring chiropractic practice, but Joe is always focused and thorough. He attends to the areas that I ask him to work on and I always leave feeling great! read more

I first went to Joe because he is one of the very few practitioners who is skilled at myofacial (spelling?) release therapy. I have suffered numerous severe injuries over the years and Joe is able to incorporate various techniques to relieve my problem areas. Beyond that Joe also provides just an overall wonderful experience in a safe and comfortable space. Joe will listen to you, tune in to your specific body, and deliver an exceptional body work experience. read more
