My first spasm felt like a knife in my…read moreback - I dragged myself down 4 flights of stairs to a taxi to get to the ER, only to learn that I should stretch and take Ibuprofin. After years of X-rays, MRIs, dozens of physical therapy/conditioning attempts and hundreds of spams I learned that running did the trick for my back, but eventually that led to an ankle sprain, knee issues and hip pain on my right side, along with back shifting from my younger days. After more X-rays, MRIs, barium injections, spinal surgery consultations, new shoes, new mattresses, depressing prognostications from a quack chiropractor, and Kaiser PTs with vacant stares giving me the same old exercises without much thought - I was nearly ready to accept defeat. Now at my 49th birthday it was time to do something about this. My wife helped me research some new services that had great recommendations, in exchange for me committing to not give up. She found several people including Josh at BaseCamp. We interviewed them all and Josh proved to be the most thoughtful about what I had been going through and what I needed. Josh's approach is terrific - he listens to my pain story and attempts at managing it, which guides his approach. He recognized that there are multiple ways to approach solving the pain and actually tests whether the exercises he is recommending will work. If they don't work, he quickly moves on - no wasted time. He takes a baseline, does the experiment, tests for good results - on the spot and at the follow-up meetings. Pragmatic & effective. The exercises are already giving me a lot more flexibility after a few weeks and most importantly, they are demonstrated to be working from the beginning - this keeps me highly motivated, as I know I am doing something helpful and not just given to me from some generic list of exercises. He has a great community of practitioners in his network and hooked me up with a physical trainer who is excellent as well. If you have pain - work related, sports, etc - I would highly recommend calling Josh/BaseCamp to discuss your needs.

I asked lost of questions so I could pick his brain! It took about 6 weeks of consistent visits for me to feel stronger and start to get back to normal. As a yoga teacher and personal trainer it was important to heal quickly and safely. Mitch's help was the key to my healthy recovery. I highly recommend him to anyone needing to recover from an injury.

My rehab ended far too early because of the administrative problems that ensued. I should have been in treatments for another 4 months, and I also attribute to not being able to fully recover. Unfortunately, their billing and insurance practices are in my opinion, fraudulent. I started care with POST with the agreement that my care would be out-of-network, but what I discovered was that they were in-network. You can't submit a claim for an out-of-network doctor, when they are in fact, in-network. As an in-network doctor, they are bound to specific rates and terms. POST Violated all of this. They submitted my claim as an in-network patient and billed me for the difference and benefited by doing so. The office manager is disorganized, not at all competent, and in many ways, I felt to be completely dishonest. Reading past reviews led me to believe that my case was not a one-time event, and that they have been operating this way for many many years. A year of filing grievances with both Anthem and Department of Health Services, who ruled in my favor, but yet I will not see a dime of reimbursement.

I cannot say enough about the exceptional care I received here at Petaluma Post Acute Rehab!! I…read morewould definitely give them 10 stars. The care here is exceptional. Every person I dealt with, from the people who clean the rooms to the CNA's to the Nurses and to the Administration treated me with the utmost respect and were dedicated to my well being and to my recovery from a serious emergency operation to my L2-S1 lumbar spine that came close to causing permanent damage. Their attitudes were always cheerful and they all went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and pain free and always with a smile on their face. They were always there- day or night to help me. My training by the Occupational Therapists really prepared me to be able to transfer to my home and be safe. I live alone, and they helped figure out how to do my laundry, how to cook, and how to shower on my own. Spinal cord surgery has its challenges when healing and they dealt with them exceptionally well. I am not allowed to Bend, Lift (more than 5 lbs( or Twist (BLT) They taught me how to function at home alone without doing any of those. It has been a safe and easy transition thanks to them. The incredible training and support of the Physical Therapy team and especially Caleb was top notch and extremely professional. When I arrived at Petaluma Post Acute Rehab, I could barely walk. I was unsteady and weak. With their extraordinary care and attention I was able to leave walking over 2 miles a day with certainty and safely. I really had to learn to walk again and through their knowledge and support I was able to make progress quickly. The food was also good and healthy. I was able to get snacks between meals and when I started to be more active and walking more I was able to get some extra when I needed it. I was amazed that the food was that good in a hospital like setting. The Nurses were of the very highest quality. They took exceptional care of me. They went out of their way to explain all the medications I was. on and made sure that my pain level was always managed. They were always there for me 24 hours a day with their warm and caring presence. They supported my when I wanted to get off the heavy Narcotics I was on and made that a painless transition. After such a major operation on my spinal cord, I felt very vulnerable and the care I was given totally made me feel so safe and so cared for. The Administrator Haley McLaughlin is one of the most professional and sweetest hard working, caring people I have ever met in the HealthCare field. She is a total professional and her energy and smile and caring lift you up every time you see her! She made sure I had everything I needed and encouraged me all the time! The Head Of Admissions- Nick was equally caring and attentive and even made sure I got home when my ride bailed on me. He is also helping me get a friend transferred there. I am now safely at home, living on my own and healing beautifully. I will never forget my stay there and all the incredible people who took the very best care of me. If you need to go to a facility like this I can tell you that there is absolutely none better! I thank them all with all of my heart!! I have read the negative remarks and would comment that none of that is now occurring and are from several years ago.

I chose Petaluma Post-Acute Rehabilitation because it was close to my home in Rohnert Park. I have been in Rehab before for other medical reasons, but have never experienced the quality of care that I received at PPAR. From the admin staff to the nursing staff to the physical and occupational therapy teams to all their associate staff, they treated each patient with a personal interest in their well-being. Whst's more, they were always available 24/7 to meet your every need. I have never experienced the quality of care as I received at Petaluma Post-Acute Rehabilitation. Obviously, I highly recommend both the establishment and the totality of its staff should you ever require the many types of post-acute services they provide.
