Friendly staff but substandard policy for two or more eyeglasses. Jody's Optical in Athens is now under new ownership, Limestone Optical. [The signage still displays Jody's Optical.] I have been wearing eyeglasses for 40 years and typically order new lenses or new glasses [bifocal sunglasses, bifocals, and computer] every year. I went there yesterday after calling first to find out if I could have three new lens prescriptions into three new frames I had purchased elsewhere. Was told yes, call from my vehicle first before coming inside. Inside, I was told by the technician that I could not have three prescriptions filled at once, I had to wait 1-2 weeks between the first, second, and third pair. She recommended wearing them for two weeks to see if they are okay because "if they don't work out, we don't want to make a refund for three pair of glasses." I objected to this policy and she verified with the manager that I either had to follow that recommendation OR get three eyeglasses made simultaneously with a "no refund" policy. That's crazy. If the lab makes them according to the opthalmologist's prescription, they will be just fine. I suspect that there is a lab problem or this new business is working on a very tight margin. Because of these issues, I do not recommend this business. read more
