The place is deff a little outdated in the dining room area.... It I LOVEEEE it!! It's a very homey feeling! The service is always great, friendly waitresses and great food! The pizza is always too notch! The bbq wings are my son's favorite!!! He's 6 and devours a small order of wings. The mild sauce on the wings is something I've never had before! It's spicy but not too spicy. The flavor is delish! Have run into a lot of people from my town. Everyone seems to talk so highly of this place.... I wish I knew about it sooner!! read more

1st timer here. Food, service excellent. Great experience, staff very friendly met owner who had a lot of passion in providing an extraordinary customer experience. Will be back soon read more

Joanna's has the best food, best Staff and Amazing bartenders! Everything that I have ever had there was exceptional. Love this place!

Not good they told me to compare my food to McDonald's. It would have been better and cheaper at McDonald's.

The food is spot on and their homemade soup is out of this world. Lastly, the folks that own and operate the business are just really nice people. read more

I'm shocked to see negative reviews? We've been enjoying Joannas in Somers CT for q a while now. Not far over the line from Massachusetts. The place is very welcoming and excellent food and service. The main draw for us is the live country music with different area bands and multitude of different folk who love to line dance. Huge dancing floor. Pitchers of water and cups for drinking. We always tip extra because of this! Enjoyed the seafood and salads pizza fried calamari. Friendly waitstaff. Huge parking lot. The owner comes around to say hello. Give this place a try you might love it too. Many top area bands play here on the weekends. Check out Facebook and follow for schedules. Cobblestone Road, Steel and Eazy, rock bands, can't beat it! read more

The waitress was rude on the day we went in February. Very snippy and seemed aggravated with requests for drinks and take out containers.

Love the Chef's Cobb Salad! Soooo plentiful and delicious! Service friendly and efficient. Darn It! I forgot to take a photo of the salad. read more

Place is awesome. The manager is top notch! Went to see a friend play drums in his band and had dinner. Food was great! Friendly welcoming and SAFE environment for all to enjoy! Definitely worth your time to head out to Joanna's and enjoy a drink a listen to a band and a nice meal......you WONT BE SORRY! Enjoy!!! read more

We've only had one pizza, the garlic butter, tomato and basil and we are hooked.

Good food and timely food coming out. Service was very nice and accommodating to my group

Great place to go for a decent dinner to night life hangout! Ppl are friendly and good atmosphere!

Both indoor and outdoor seating, great season around. Food is good and so is the bar! I always get a Bloody Mary from here with fish and chips! Great service especially with a big party! read more

We went there for their New Year's Eve party, as we had a few times before. As usual, the food was very good, no complaints there. However, they seem to have some new wait staff, or wait staff with new, and poor attitudes! As we have every time, and as Jeff invited us to do when he signed us in, once we placed our coats at the table, myself and another went to the bar to grab a drink. We waited at the bar for about 10 minutes, catching up with one another, while being ignored by the bartender. Meanwhile, wait staff were coming and going, until one of them turned to us and said, 'Don't you have a waitress?' I said that we did, but weren't sure when she might get back to our table, as we had told her we were waiting on another couple, so we figured we'd just grab our own 1st drink. She then stood there with 3 or 4 other waitresses, along with the bartender, and proceeded to tell us we didn't belong at the bar, and that we needed to go back to our table and wait. At this point another waitress chimed in, adding her two cents that we should be sitting and waiting, not at the bar. One or two of the others nodded in agreement. In my entire life, (and if you're at Joanna's, you're no spring chicken) I have never been refused a drink at a bar because I wasn't following the correct procedure. It's a bar, and serving drinks is its purpose. Unfortunately, this set the tone for the entire evening. Turned out the same blond upper middle-aged waitress who took the lead in dressing us down, seemed to relish in telling people things that weren't allowed to do. At one point a couple in our party were going to grab a couple of hats and noise makers, only for her to pounce on them and say they couldn't touch them yet. About 5 minutes later they were coming around to the tables telling people to go up and grab whatever they wanted. I never did go back to the bar, so they certainly lost a few bucks there, along with tips, (you only have waitstaff during dinner, the rest of the night you're on your own) but I did notice throughout the night that the bar itself, which has typically been very busy when we've been there on New Year's Eve before, was pretty much dead. Guess that's just the sort of thing that happens when you have miserable waitstaff, people start going to other places where they can still have a good time! read more

Thank you so much to all the staff at Joanna's! They made Scott's 30th birthday very, very special! The staff, well they're absolutely phenomenal! The food, delicious! The whole place is so warm and inviting. It's the kind of place that anyone can go to, sit back and relax, listen to some great music, and have a fantastic meal! Thank you again to Jeff and all the staff at Joanna's! read more

Definitely your local dive bar with a ton of regulars - but it's a bit of a hidden gem. The food here is really good! Lots of good bar fare. Two of the bartenders I've dealt with there are amazing ... Katie, and most especially Andrea - what a sweet heart. It's easy to get to, ample parking, and their prices are very fair . read more

Delicious food, friendly workers, great costumers, and in a fast manner. I loved the music being played on the weekend also.

Good food and good service! Good selection of beer. I really love the huge banquet hall they have attached to the restaurant. Perfect for a wedding or concert! We came her for the first time for a concert and the place was rocking! Great smallish town barn! read more

This is the first time I tried tomato and basil pizza and it was completely a game changer. I'm usually a meat lover but this time, I'm on team tomato and basil. However, not sure if the address on this yelp page is accurate. I found this address on google: 145 Main St, Somers, CT 06071. read more

Used to love this place but the cook, Freddy, was so obnoxiously rude, bullying the waitresses in front of the customers I will never go here again. Prices are too high - couldn't believe over $26 for a medium pizza! Fire Freddy and we will consider coming back. read more

An unexpected stop and enjoyed. Had the the baked haddock off the specials menu. Served with green beans, red bliss mashed potatoes and toss salad. Definitely would go back. Reasonably priced and service was excellent. read more

This place is a gem for local music, good food, and a wide variety of adult beverages. My family and I love Joanna's! It is a family friendly restaurant. It's always been a MUST on our top priority list when we come back home to visit the Spfld/Somers area. They have the most delicious eggplant parmesan, pizza and wings I have ever had! Every time we visit our waitress genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. The service is always impeccable and friendly. It is reasonably priced, too. The owners are a delight and make you feel so welcome. We will definitely eat here again and again and again! read more

Went in with a party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their food, from fish and chips, to burgers, to chicken wings (which were incredible!). The waitress was also the bartender that afternoon; even though she had multiple patrons at the bar, she frequented our table, and made sure we had everything we needed. I can't wait to go back! read more

I don't know what other restaurant the other reviewer went to- but it was NOT Joanna's cafe. The food was great, the party I had there was top notch. The service was wonderful and it's truly family oriented. They must be confused. read more

I go to Joanna's often and I think it's a great place to hang out. Good people and great food. Friday night they have the best Prime Rib dinner. You can actually cut the prime rib with a butter knife it's so tender. The people are fun and I don't know what the other gentleman was talking about with drugs and bikers because Joanna's is far away from having either of that in the bar. In fact Jeff Lipton the owner doesn't allow it. Now if you go across the street to Mickey Finn's that's a well known bar for that kind of garbage. I give Joanna's a thumbs up and I would recommend this place for any family to go for dinner! read more

5 stars says it all! But no one reviewing Joanna's on Yelp would no that because YELP likes to only show the ONE bad review that is written about this place... Stay Classy YELP.....You IDIOTS.... read more

I have managed/owned restaurants/bars for over 25 years. I believe this affords me the opportunity to have some insight on the true health of a business such as Joannas Cafe. I have frequented Joannas and ALWAYS found it to be exceptional. Not only is the food fresh but the portions can't be cost effective for the owners. I have yet to complete a meal. I also would like to add if you did a cost comparison of the menu items you will be surprised. If you've never been there I would ask for Andrea and you might be reminded of what service is actually supposed to be like. I have also gotten to know the owners. I don't know if people realize how important it is to see the owners in their business but for me its a critical component to the health of a business on a day to day basis. I also would add that the owners have invested alot of time and money renovating the place and it looks great. I am writing this review due to seeing a negative review recently and thought this gentleman has no clue. Sounded personal not professional. Tyrone E. read more
