A full week passed with no communication, and I was finally contacted the day before my original appointment--far too late to make the necessary preparations. As a diabetic, I have to fast before having blood work done, which I clearly communicated to the receptionist. Fasting causes my blood sugar levels to drop, so careful planning is essential for my health and safety. Unfortunately, there was no consideration for this, and no one followed through on the promised call back. What was even more concerning was being told that "sometimes the doctor shows up and sometimes he doesn't." That level of unpredictability is unacceptable in any healthcare setting. Due to the lack of communication, consideration, and professionalism, I was ultimately unable to attend my appointment. This experience was extremely frustrating, and I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking reliable or compassionate medical care. Update: My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM, yet I received a call at 2:53 PM from the receptionist asking if I still planned to come in. I had already spoken with someone at 10 AM this morning to explain my situation. Despite that, I was told, rather dismissively, that it was my responsibility to call and request an earlier appointment--this, after I had been assured over a week ago that I would receive a follow-up call with an updated time. Then the excuse was that the office was closed all last week, but I can book you for another PM appointment for this week. In an emergency situation I called him and asked to come to the office. He said yes. I got there, clearly emotional (crying), and he said he couldn't help and told me to leave - even though on the phone he said he would help and to come in. It was traumatic and thanks to him I've lost so much trust and faith in the medical system. I was a patient for a little over two years. Dr. Xu was medically negligent many times. The next time I visited was a few months later and she was re-reading my past results and told me I had gallstones. I asked her why didn't you tell me this information when I had the telehealth visit, she said she forgot to turn the page. The second time was when I was getting a checkup. She told me I was missing the last dose for a vaccine, I had only gotten two doses. The second vaccine I had taken was over a year ago. I told her that no one informed me that I needed a third vaccine otherwise I would have scheduled it. She said I was the one who needed to schedule the vaccine appointment. I was going to the doctor's office consistently so she failed to notice that I needed an additional vaccine for a year. She never apologized for her office's mistake or took any accountability. Her secretaries barely speak any English so it is hard to get anything done. For example, I was at a radiology office and Dr. Xu forgot to sign the referral order. Her office refuted that the referral was not signed. The intake person repeated what she said over three times. They eventually faxed over the referral but it was not signed. This incident wasted 30 minutes of my time because of Dr. Xu office's uncooperativeness. The last incident was that I asked her office for a letter with my medical conditions and treatments for work purposes. She told me that she has no responsibility to provide me any documentation. This is a clear violation of my hipaa rights.
