Pretty disappointed in the customer experience I've gotten at this JOANN location, which is a huge bummer considering that this is the closest location to me. A positive thing is that the parking lot outside is shared amongst other business so you should have no issues finding a spot. However, going inside the store is a different story. Aisles are often disorganized with random items shoved on shelves or seemingly thrown on the floor. There are often piles of boxes left in the middle of some sections, blocking stocked items from view -- these boxes tend to be too heavy for customers to move themselves. Employees here are generally nice but not super helpful if you need something. Maybe because the things I need are probably in one of the random boxes tossed in a random section of the store. The only benefit this location has is its proximity to my house. Otherwise, it's difficult for me to find all the things that I need, resulting in me either buying the item online or going to a more organized/ well/stocked JOANN location. read more

How is it that everytime I walk in to this store (and it's often because I am an avid crocheter) Valerie is always in a bad mood and short to every customer? The back rows where all the quilting materials/embroidery floss/stuffing were completely blocked off by the sheer amount of unaccounted for and unshelved items that have yet to find their place. I visited Joann's today to pick up some last-minute materials, and the experience was nothing short of frustrating. When I went to have my fabric cut, the staff gave me an unnecessarily difficult time. The employees were disorganized, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer service skills. It felt like they were more interested in making a sale than assisting customers properly. Not to mention the amount of side conversation these employees were having that went a little too much in depth into their life, that customers did not need to know about. The price was also supposed to be discounted but it's a complete lie just to make last minute money off of you. (Ps. The employee didn't even count how many yards I wanted she just said "well I don't want to do any math right now so let's just say it's 2.5 yards" after I already asked her for 2 yards) For the first time ever, I left fabric behind after it was cut because the process was so unbearable. To make matters worse, as I was leaving, I overheard an employee telling a customer that they were no longer accepting gift cards--despite the fact that the gift card was valid until Friday with no news of the last day of its usage. It's no surprise that they just announced they're closing--thankfully! With such an unprofessional team and a manager who clearly has no grasp on customer service, it's probably for the best. Perhaps the staff should consider careers that don't involve interacting with the public, as customer service is clearly not their strong suit. If you're looking for a smooth shopping experience, I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I was wary of visiting this store because: A.) I had not really needed to buy fabric specifically in recent memory B.) Reviews all said the place had great inventory but awful staff But time was running out, and Amazon had failed us re: some materials we ordered for our DIY Halloween costumes... so I went for it. Had never heard of the chain before, even though apparently it's pretty popular. The first thing I noticed upon setting foot inside was the size of the store. I don't know what I expected, but it was huge! They had all the cloth we needed and the inventory was plentiful, just like the reviews had said. I went up to the store clerk (because you do need to interact with them since they cut the cloth) with my hat in my hands. I admitted I didn't know what I was doing, and apologized in advance for whatever silly questions I was about to ask. Well, the lady was helpful and there were no issues! I wouldn't say she like, laughed at my jokes or smiled real big or anything, but that's OK - I got what I needed, no fuss, so I have no complaints. Me and my partner went into the corona Joan's store to pick up crafts for a holiday crochet project. Upon getting to the yarn aisles we noticed that the normal walkway was packed tightly full of boxes of yarn. We check the aisles and most of the yarn is not stocked due to this we start checking the boxes that are laying in the middle of the walk way. As we do this an employee walks up and yells at us to stop. This employee not only made us uncomfortable being in this store but also this made it hard to shop. How can we get the product we are looking for if it has yet to be stocked and are in boxes in the middle of the store that we can't touch? The answer is that you can't. If you are in need of supplies for your next craft I wouldn't recommended coming here, they most likely haven't stocked the store. The product we could find was decent and out of all the entire mess the store was in and the rude employees, the lady who checked us out was very kind and helped us out with finding coupons. read more

This place is a mess ! What's wrong with the management on taking care of this store and cleaning it up and putting boxes away. It was horrible. No one does anything about the complaints concerning this store. I was there today and they were so rude. The employees were horrible as well. We asked for help so many times and they said we can't help you right now there are only 2 people working today and we can't look in the back for anything at all because that girl already left for the day!!!!! But it was only 11:00 in the morning!!!! Then we put in an order and were told you have to come another day because we can't go look for it right now. I come here often to restock my supplies, and the staff here are always not the friendliest! I've had multiple experiences here where they were rude to customers and impatient. I feel like I am bothering them with cutting fabric or simply checking out. Otherwise, the store is fairly clean and organized. Came here on a Saturday morning in April to get fabric for masks and for my daughter, who recently bought a sewing machine and was planning on making a dress. Stood in line outside for about an hour (as they limited the number of customers in store) and then an employee came out around 1pm and issued tickets to each customer in line, which guaranteed entry into the store for the day. We waited about another 30-45 minutes until we were finally let inside. There was a large selection of fabrics and we got what we needed. The employee who cut our fabrics was super friendly and was a great help. Don't forget to get a number if you need cuts. I have shopped at Joann's for a very long time in Northern and Southern I California. This store is a horrible mess. Fabric is all over and in no kind of order. It hasn't always been this bad. I asked a clerk if they remodeling the store and she looked at me strange and said not that she knew of. Couldn't find what I was looking for but there didn't seem anyone to help. The employees are very nice from my experience, and the fabric selection is great. However the store could really use a remodel. The floors, shelves, ceiling etc look outdated and worn, and some of the shelves are disorganized with random clutter. They also are often understaffed. One time the only cashier was stocking shelves and had to stop what she was doing to go on register. I tried applying for a job there since they clearly needed the help, but the only position they were looking for was assistant manager. I hope that location gets some attention from the business as a whole so they can do a remodel because that would solve their biggest issue in my opinion. read more

The Corona store off of McKinley does have a large amount of fabric but there is some issues that management needs to correct. The staff at the cut table displays negative attitude, reluctant to provide assistance and typically make rude comments. I have never been inside a Joanns Fabric store that was so dirty. I was looking for a certain fabric and was told to try this Joanns. My mouth fell open when I went home inside. No organization in the fabric section. There is more bolts of fabric in the floor than on the shelves. Customers were actually pushing the carts over the fabric in the floor. I asked the clerk at the cutting table if they had what I was looking for, she was kind and looked it up for me, then said yes they have it somewhere and it's on sale, but she doesn't know where it would be. I asked if that means I need to dig on the floor to find it, she smiled at me, I told her no thanks I'll go elsewhere. You can tell this mess has been there a long time. Needs to get Corporate involved. read more

I had to ask if store was closing when I walked into store. It was dark and sweltering hot. It is so dark that In order to match fabric colors in store you literally have to go to the front of the store where the windows are to see good. The heat is overwhelming and you can see the employees sweating and making their best efforts to still deliver good customer service. I reached out to the District Manager of this store and all she did was patronize me about the situation and said she would take my comments into consideration. My comments??? How about the reality of the circumstances you have going on in the work environment for your employees. Needless to say I filed a report with OSHA and I refuse to give them my $ anymore since they have no respect for their employees safety, customers shopping experience or even the companies image. Not only do they have a tremendous variety of craft materials available, but they have lots of different fabrics that let me exercise my creativity when I sew. My favorite thing, though, is the staff. Sandy not only cut the fabric for me today, but she also gave me some input on how to cut and sew a circular tablecloth. The store looks soooo cluttered. Everything is out of order and a lot of racks are empty if not filled with things that shouldn't belong. These ladies are so rude! The seasonal clearance stuff had a huge sign that clearly said 70% off ALL seasonal items and the woman at the register was getting crazy with me. She legit was questioning me left and right asking if I switched ticket items and all of this mess. Seriously cannot believe these old hags.... DO NOT SHOP AT THIS JOANN'S!!!! I see that this review will not be the first or the last on this stores' customer service, but I had an experience with returns. I bought some foam padding at another Joann's and used my mother's credit card, unfortunately it did not work with what I was trying to use it for I needed a bigger piece. I went to this Joann's to return the foam padding I had to get a bigger one. I figured, like every other retail store, that I could return the foam padding and apply it towards the new one that I was getting. BOY WAS I WRONG! I tried to explain to the cashier that I did NOT have the credit card that was used in the original transaction and just wanted to exchange the item. I went to get the new foam padding I needed and then was back up to the counter. Unfortunately for me I had the same cashier. I had the original receipt and let her know again I did NOT have the credit card that was used, and just wanted either store credit or just apply the credit towards my purchase. She says to me that the only thing that she can do it return the amount to the credit card. I advised her again that I did NOT have the credit card and just wanted a store credit, etc. She then proceeds to tell me that she can only return the purchase back to the credit card and cannot give me a store credit or apply the return to the purchase. I was furious by this time, I look down on the counter and it states "Returns with a receipt..A full refund will be offered in the original method of payment, as a merchandise exchange, or on a merchandise return card." I even took a picture of it. I asked her why she couldn't give me a return card since it clearly states on their counter this policy. She said it was a 'system thing' and she was unable to do so. Needless to say, I am going to do their 'survey' and let them know to take this sign down if they cannot honor it. read more

When she went to go look she did not tell me she was placing me on hold.. she then told me that her store did carry it. They need to be more specific online of WHEN or HOW LONG it will take to process a curbside order. I understand they are running behind more than usual due to COVID-19 but about a week and a half ago i placed an order online for fabric. I chose the fabric shown available at this location so i could do a curbside pickup. I placed my order and thought it would take 2-3 days until i could pick it up. (Most other places have same day pickup) then 5 days go by and i haven't received any emails or anything from Joanns, so then i call.. the first time i spoke with someone i just asked the lady how long their curbside orders are taking right now, she told me 5-7 days - which was understandable considering I'm sure they are busy cutting other fabric and dealing with the high demand for masks. A few more days go by and still nothing. Now it had been about 9 days, and still no email. Then i decide to call again to make sure they even received my order and if they still had everything in stock. The lady on the phone was soo rude. Said with attitude "it will be ready when it's ready there's nothing we can do about it" then hung up on me. 2 days later i FINALLY get an email saying the fabric i chose was out of stock so they cancelled my order. What a joke. I understand they may be busier during this time. But if they have no customers coming into the stores, what are they really doing in there and why is it taking soo long? I tried another fabric store and was able to pick up my fabric the same day! Much better customer service there. No longer supporting this Joanns. read more
