Lines can be long but there check out system moves along quickly! Very pleasant and helpful employees at checkout! I didn't want her to get in trouble. She gave a dirty look, looked at another customer, and asked me in a rude tone if I'm not getting my items. I told her I am getting my items, and just reminding her she hadn't charged me for them. She looked at another customer and began laughing in my face. Then she very rudely told me that she always puts items in the bag before charging. I apologized because I didn't know and she rolled her eyes at me ignoring me. She proceeded to keep side-eyeing the other customer and smirking like as if she were judging me.

Since that time, I have noticed a tremendous decline in their workmanship. We purchased a reclining sofa and a chair on 8/24/2012. The couch did show wear rather quickly, and eventually the screws kept coming out of the footrest. The chair remained in remarkable shape. Our most recent purchases were on 09/07/2023 (a reclining sofa, lamps, and various ornamental items) and on 05/09/2024 (the matching loveseat). I would love to attach the photos of the sagging sofa, the gaps between the cushions on the back of the sofa, the gouges in the wall made by the loveseat, and the torn leather and ripped metal on the back of the loveseat. I called the store and customer service because of the deteriorating condition of the furniture in such a short amount of time, given there are only two seniors that live in the house. Apparently, the replacement parts are free under the warranty; labor is not because it costs $160.00 an hour! It boils down to this: I will never set foot in another La-Z-Boy store, and I will never recommend La-Z-Boy to another person, but I will recommend people going to hometown-based stores, as they appear to care more about customer loyalty, customer satisfaction, and customer service. In my eyes, the fairy tale of thinking La-Z-Boy has exceptional products is over.

All that I have four months later is a chair with a defect in the leather. Two couches came in defective and Comfort Care which I paid $500 for furniture protection and repair has not contacted me even though Tom said he called them three times. Tom has told me that he would call on specific days and he never did. He never offered me anything for all of the inconvenience of not having furniture for three months. My last communication with him was two months ago. I asked for his manager's name and number to help resolve the situation. He said "no" and hung up on me. This is by far the worst merchant I have worked with. I am sad that the La-Z-Boy name is not one to be trusted. I have worked in customer service for 35 years and if anyone that works with me acted this way, they would be fired!

Now I don't know about anyone else, but Id expect a "leather" recliner to last more than 3 1/2 years but not he case with ours. Within the first year the "leather" started peeling/breaking down and of course it was all due to consumer care according to Flex Steel but since it was within the 1st year of purchased it was repaired (not replaced) with new sections of material. About 5 months ago, the same thing started happening on the left side arm rest only much worse but this time because it was out of warranty, Flex Steel nor Dunk & Bright would not repair, replace or return for full credit. Through all this we discovered our "real" leather recliner is "bonded" leather. BIG difference and something that should have been brought to our attention at time of purchase. Now you may think its asking for a lot after 3 1/2 years to have this addressed with full coverage costs but honestly, do these two companies expect a customer to drop over $2,000.00 on a piece of furniture only to have the covering start breaking down after 3 1/2 years? I thought i was dealing with reputable companies but guess not. And as far as consumer care goes (our care), we purchased about 15 years ago an Ekrons Stressless "real" leather recliner and about 7 years ago a Natuzzi "real" leather recliner. To date absolutely NO issues or signs wear. Guess that's what happens when you purchase quality furniture from reputable companies. Never again Dunk & Bright or Flex Stee.
